-Olay

Trusted by millions of women around the world, Olay is the best-selling anti-aging skincare range in five continents. This multi-billion dollar brand produces hundreds of different beauty products, which can make it pretty daunting to choose a product to fit your specific needs.

In order to help you out, below we’ll discuss the top 10 best Olay skincare products with a scientific lens, meaning we’ve evaluated the research that supports (or doesn’t support) the ingredients that you’ll find in these products.

We’ll also share some Olay reviews so you can get a better idea of what customers really think about these products.

What Are The Top 10 Best Olay Skin Care Products?

Olay offers a wide variety of skincare products, including cleansers, toners, masks, mists, moisturizers, serums, treatments, and sun protection products. Since there are way too many Olay skincare products to discuss in one review, we’ve narrowed it down to the top 10 best Olay skincare products.

Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream

Housed in a little red jar, there’s no doubt you’ve seen the brand’s most iconic moisturizer — Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream — lining the shelves of any drugstore you walk into. The brand claims that this cream will visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines starting day 1. But is this true?

Based on the formula, you’ll likely notice a temporary plumping with the cream thanks to the combination of the silicone dimethicone with plenty of humectants (glycerin, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, etc.).

Dimethicone forms a thin, invisible film on the surface of the skin that helps to disguise lines and wrinkles, while humectants bind moisture on the skin. The extra hydration is the extra volume, which effectively plumps out the skin and makes lines and wrinkles less noticeable.

However, keep in mind these effects are transient — as soon as the product is rinsed off, lines and wrinkles will return to normal size.

The good news is Olay included some ingredients that will provide long-term benefits, such as niacinamide and palmitoyl pentapeptide-4. We’ll discuss these ingredients in detail in the Key Ingredients section below.

It’s too bad this cream is packaged in a jar, though, because these ingredients will deteriorate over time due to exposure to light and air.

Bottom Line: Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream combines dimethicone with humectants to plump skin and disguise signs of aging, while niacinamide and a peptide provide benefits over time.

ALTERNATIVESCarrot & Stick The Moisturizer. It’s overflowing with potent plant proteins, vitamins, peptides and amino-collagen.

Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer

We want to love this anti-aging night cream because it combines some of the best skincare ingredients into one product: niacinamide, a peptide, and anti-aging superstar retinol.

Retinol is truly a multi-tasking ingredient. According to a publication in the journal Clinical Interventions in Aging, retinol can minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.

But here’s the thing: all of these benefits go down the drain if retinol oxidizes!

You see, retinol is very unstable and oxidizes every time it’s exposed to light and air — like when you open the jar to use this Olay moisturizer!

After retinol oxidizes, it loses its effectiveness until it stops working completely, which is why we don’t recommend Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer. But don’t worry; we’ve rounded up our favorite retinol creams into one post for you!

Bottom Line: Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer would be a great product if it was packaged appropriately, but the jar packaging will cause retinol to oxidize and lose effectiveness over time.

That’s why we recommend this Carrot & Stick The Retinoid Oil. It contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, an ingredient that provides similar benefits with less irritation.

Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum

Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum overcomes the issues that the Night Moisturizer has thanks to its opaque plastic bottle with a dropper dispenser that protects retinol from exposure to light and air.

Since retinol is packaged to remain stable, this night serum should promote improvements in fine lines and wrinkles, smoothness, brightness, firmness, dark spots, and pores.

It’s also great that this fragrance-free night serum includes niacinamide and palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 to further assist in brightening skin tone and reducing signs of aging.

Bottom Line: Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum combines retinol, niacinamide, and a peptide to address multiple signs of aging.

ALTERNATIVE: If you are concerned about aging skin and looking for professional grade products that are also clean,  Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum. It contains a peptide complex to target multiple signs of aging.

Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream

This eye cream has a light, silky texture that absorbs quickly without feeling greasy or sticky. It contains the same key ingredients as the other Olay Retinol 24 products, which include palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, niacinamide, glycerin, and, of course, retinol.

Once again, the fact that this eye cream is packaged in a jar means that retinol will deteriorate over time due to exposure to light and air.

Bottom Line: An eye cream with beneficial key ingredients, but the jar packaging will cause these ingredients to lose effectiveness over time.

ALTERNATIVES:  If you are concerned about aging around the eyes including bags, one product we recommend is Carrot & Stick The Eye Cream.

Olay Collagen Peptide 24 Moisturizer

This fragrance-free face moisturizer has a lightweight texture that absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky, greasy, or heavy feeling. That’s because there’s a high concentration of velvety emollients like isohexadecane and silky silicones like dimethicone, which both help skin to feel nice and smooth.

Like all of the products in this collection, the formula includes palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, or what Olay refers to as the “collagen peptide”. We’ll give you the details on this peptide in the Key Ingredients section below.

There’s also the skin-brightening ingredient niacinamide in this formula, as well as hydrating ingredients like glycerin, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), and snow mushroom extract.

Based on the formula, we think this moisturizer would be suitable for nearly all skin types, except those with very dry skin who would likely benefit from a moisturizer with more occlusive emollients.

Bottom Line: A facial moisturizer for all skin types that combines the “collagen peptide” with niacinamide and hydrating ingredients.

Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 25

The term “whip” in the name of this Olay moisturizer is due to the inclusion of Whip Technology. Whip Technology creates an ultra-lightweight, whipped texture that transforms from cream to liquid on contact for fast absorption, resulting in a smooth, matte finish that leaves your skin feeling moisturized.

The lightweight texture and lack of rich emollients in this formula make it ideal for those with normal to oily or combination skin types. But if you have dry skin, you may find this isn’t moisturizing enough.

The formula also provides sun protection with four chemical sunscreens — avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene — that provide broad-spectrum SPF 25 protection.

While chemical sunscreen ingredients won’t leave a white cast, we don’t recommend these types of sunscreens due to research that has shown they absorb through the skin and into the bloodstream. It’s still unclear if these chemicals are linked to health conditions, but it’s known that they do enter the body. In our opinion, mineral sunscreens are a safer choice.

Another drawback with this formula is the inclusion of a synthetic fragrance blend.

Bottom Line: Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer is an ultra-lightweight face moisturizer with a whipped texture that creates a smooth, matte finish while also moisturizing and providing a broad spectrum SPF 25 protection.

Olay Total Effects Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 40

This is another moisturizer in the “whip” collection, which is actually very similar to the Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 25 — but we think this formula is better.

One reason is the higher concentrations of sunscreen ingredients providing SPF 40 protection (although this moisturizer contains the same four chemical sunscreen ingredients, which aren’t as safe as mineral sunscreens).

What takes this moisturizer to the next level is the inclusion of antioxidant vitamins C and E. This powerful duo protects skin from damaging free radicals. Fortunately, the opaque, airtight packaging will keep these antioxidants stable.

However, this is another product that contains a synthetic fragrance blend.

Bottom Line: Olay Total Effects Whip Face Moisturizer has an ultra-lightweight, whipped texture and provides broad spectrum SPF 40 protection along with antioxidant protection thanks to vitamins C and E.

Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Face Moisturizer

This oil-free anti-aging facial moisturizer has the same key ingredients as many of the other Olay moisturizers we’ve discussed. Those ingredients include glycerin, niacinamide, dimethicone, panthenol, and vitamins C and E. Sound familiar?

Since this moisturizer contains the same key ingredients as other Olay moisturizers, you can expect similar results, such as improved hydration, softness, and brightness.

But if you’ve tried other Olay moisturizers and haven’t noticed much of a difference, then this one probably isn’t worth trying out (check out our favorite face moisturizers for better options!)

Bottom Line: This oil-free face moisturizer has the same key ingredients as other Olay moisturizers and, therefore, will provide similar results.

Olay Exfoliating & Moisturizing Body Wash

This Olay body wash uses sugar to gently massage away dead skin cells, providing a light exfoliation that helps to reveal radiant skin.

There’s also cocoa butter to help keep skin soft and smooth. Cocoa butter is a very rich emollient, but don’t worry – this Olay body wash rinses off clean without leaving an oily residue on the skin.

Like all Olay skin care products, the formula includes the brand’s star ingredient niacinamide. While this is an excellent ingredient, it works better in leave-on products such as moisturizers and serums.

Bottom Line: Olay Exfoliating & Moisturizing Body Wash uses sugar to gently exfoliate skin while cocoa butter helps to soften skin and lock in moisture.

Olay Cleansing & Brightening Body Wash

With its rich and creamy lather, this Olay body wash is ideal for those with normal to dry skin. The rich texture is created by a high concentration of petrolatum (aka Vaseline) in this body wash.

There’s quite a few good ingredients in this body wash, such as niacinamide and vitamin C, but once again these work best with leave-on products. Leaving these ingredients on your skin for just a minute or two as you wash your body doesn’t give them much time to exert benefits.

Bottom Line: Olay Cleansing & Brightening Body produces a rich, creamy lather that helps skin feel soft and silky, but if you’re looking to brighten your skin it’s best to use a leave-on product.

What Are The Key Ingredients in Olay Skin Care Products?

Even though Olay produces hundreds of different skincare products, we’ve noticed that the formulations are nearly identical. Nearly all Olay moisturizers have the same key ingredients, which include niacinamide, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, glycerin, panthenol, and silicones. Let’s take a closer look at how these ingredients work, as well as the research that supports their use in skincare.

One ingredient that Olay loves to include in their formulations is niacinamide. Niacinamide is the amide form of vitamin B3 (niacin) that provides many benefits to the skin.

For instance, a publication in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, states that niacinamide can repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, excess sebum, and wrinkling.

Niacinamide is also an antioxidant that helps the skin combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.

Another key ingredient used throughout the collection of Olay skincare products is palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, or what the brand calls an “amino-peptide”.

Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 is a matrikine, a messenger peptide that regulates cell activities through cell signaling. For example, when the collagen protein is degraded, matrikines send signals to fibroblasts to produce new collagen.

Since matrikines have the ability to increase the production of collagen, elastin, and other macromolecules in the ECM, synthetic peptides like palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 have been created to mimic these effects.

According to a publication in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 stimulates the production of collagen types I and III and fibronectin.

Thus, the inclusion of palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 in the Olay skincare products means you may notice an improvement in skin firmness after using these products.

You’ll also notice that Olay skin care products are formulated with high concentrations of humectants (like glycerin and panthenol) and silicones (like dimethicone).

Humectants are beneficial skin care ingredients because their structure is composed of water-loving groups that hydrogen bond with water, essentially “grabbing” it and holding it on the skin. This not only hydrates skin, but also gives you a more plump complexion.

The inclusion of silicones in the Olay skin care products helps to give these products a silky smooth skin feel. Silicones also form a protective film on the skin that provides both water-binding and water-resistant properties.

And like we mentioned earlier, the film-forming properties of silicones enables them to blur imperfections like lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. This may cause you to think the product is really correcting signs of aging, but really it’s more of a makeup effect (that’s why makeup primers contain silicones).

How Much Do Olay Skin Care Products Cost?

Olay skincare products are on the higher-end of drugstore products, but they’re still pretty affordable. For example, Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream costs $33.49 USD for 1.7 oz, and Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum costs $38.99 USD for 1.3 oz.

Olay Reviews

Olay’s reviews on the brand’s website are mostly very positive. One product that has an impressive amount of reviews is the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. After more than 23,000 customer reviews, this product has received an average rating of 3.9 out of 5 stars.

The positive Olay reviews for the Micro Sculpting Cream mention that this moisturizer really does help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while keeping the skin moisturized and smooth.

However, there are quite a few negative reviews for Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream from customers who did not see the results they were hoping for after using this product for months.

Our Verdict

Overall, we think that Olay skincare products are an okay option if you’re trying to build a skincare routine on a budget. With that being said, some products are better than others. We recommend avoiding the Olay skincare products that are packaged in jars.

Pros

  • Beneficial ingredients like niacinamide, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, and sodium hyaluronate used throughout collection
  • Relatively low cost
  • Many positive Olay reviews

Cons

  • Formulations lack innovation; the same few ingredients are used in nearly all of the brand’s products
  • Some Olay products contain fragrance
  • Jar packaging may lead to degradation of delicate ingredients

What Are Some Alternatives?

If you’re looking for skincare products to address the signs of aging, we recommend Carrot & Stick. Carrot & Stick maximizes the use of powerful ingredients and minimizes the use of superficial ones, resulting in advanced skincare solutions that help promote healthy more youthful-looking skin.

Carrot & Stick routines take the guesswork out of building a skincare routine. We recommend Day and Night Routine or The Complete Collection.

I started using Oil of Ulay as it was called in the early 1970s. I am now 70 and dont have any visible wrinkles. People assume I am in my 50’s. and don’t believe me when I tell them I’m 70. My mum used it for many years and had amazing skin. I’ve just started buying it for my granddaughter who is almost 17 and she uses it as a base under her extreme make up!! Thanks Oil of Olay xx

12/3/2022 I find information on products very insightful being I’m just starting to study the products for my spouse, but all the reviews in earnest, between brands, is largely subjective.

I’m not knocking opinion as users opinions are valuable, but there really isn’t much hard data on the specific products from a study perspective that has citations.

I am 51 years old. I have not been using any facial products for many years. I had these terrible dark puffy eyes, which I hated. I purchased Oil of Olay 7. And oh boy what a wonderful product. My frown lines between my eyes are 80% gone. I am feeling and looking 200% better. The dark puffy eyes are gone. I am all bright eyed and puffy tail at the moment. Thank you for a great product

Oil of Olay is amazing, and I keep a bottle of the lotion opposite me as I sit on the throne in the bathroom, and apply. While I wash my hands I grab a bottle and slather my hands. I follow the ProX cleansing program at night and spritz with witch hazel EVERY time I visit the bathroom…thus I look thirty years younger. For years before Olay, I slathered all day long with creams and lotion, keep bottles of lotion or cream in every room of the house, especially when I watch TV…

I am 50yrs old, have used oil of olay since I was 18yrs.!!! I looked this up because I wanted to share what a wonderful product this has been for 32yrs!!! I have used the regular one with the black lid…in the 80’s.
Then around 35yrs changed to age one…..
I remember when I was 18ys. Watching this woman putting on her makeup, and I was fascinated by the routine she had! I had also noticed she was in my young eyes gorgeous!!! I remember she would look at me and say “if you want to have good skin and not look like an apple doll…(that’s how they said it), you have to always and forever use this!”
She handed me the bottle of Oil of Olay
Black lid clear bottom, white face cream. Use it every day for the rest of your life! Her mom swore by it! That was good enough for me! Call me vein…but I have used this product from 18ys-50yrs.!!! I have never liked my picture taken, stayed out of the camera…shy, never care for my looks! But I have used this product for 32yrs!!! And I’m still being told I look the same….as last time, most of those times were 10+yrs.
I just have to take this time to actually speak up!
Thank you so much for al, your products, I have 3 daughter’s over 23yrs. They all use
    Oil of olay!!!!
    Sincerely,
    Michelle Elliott

    Dear Olay,

I have been using Oil of Olay since I was a youngster. My mother used it every day, so ever since I was young enough to reach it in the cabinet, I started using it. I am now 51 years old and continuously get compliments about looking so much younger. Although the stress of losing parents and life in general makes the hair turn and few wrinkles show up, I know that thanks to Oil of Olay……….I am one of the lucky ones that I always prayed I would be. Thank you!!!!

Please continue to make olay products with Petrolatum a.k.a. Vaseline. I know Petrolatum has been getting a bas rap. It is the only moisturizer I have found to actually go beyond the surface of theskin, especially wonderful after a shower. i have also noticed petrolatum is continued to be the moisturizer for most of the lotions’, such as Vaseline intensive care products. I am loving the Olar Ribbons with Honey and Marula oil. it smells like the popular scent called “A Thousand Wishes” from Bath And Body Works! i have also been using B.B.W’s creamy bodywash, but unfortunately they changed the ingredients to Shea Butter. It is not in the same as Petrolatum! Their scent is amazing but i can buy their fragrance if all i want is to smell good! Bless you guys. don’t stop using Petrolatum/Vaseline.

I bought Oil of Olay Regenerist serum around 2 months ago, and for that price it’s ridiculous. At best it’s a good moisturizer. But then when I realized it has parabens in it which are linked to cancer, weighing out a good moisturizer isn’t worth all that. Noor the price. I specifically was looking at certain areas in my face while I used it for that 2 months, I’m 31 years old I started getting wrinkles around the mouth just within the last few months and I have one son spot below my eye. Nothing changed. I really had high hopes too! I’m going to stick to hydrochloric acid and vitamin C

I have been using Oil of Olay beauty fluid since I was 15, back when it was Oil of Ulay. I am now 41 and no one believes me when I tell them. I always joke that it must be the Oil of Olay working, however, I am really starting to believe it. My skin is on the dry side, however, I have always found other creams too greasy and have always returned to Oil of Olay beauty fluid. At 41 my skin is as smooth as a peach despite me spending time in the sun. I rarely wear any make up, besides mascara on special occasions. I have naturally auburn hair (now going grey lol) fair skin and freckles. I have told my 12 year old daughter to share my beauty fluid and hopefully she will yield the same results when she is 41……I hope that she is buying her own by then though 🙂

Aged 36 I decided it was time for me to start using an anti-wrinkle cream. I thought I would give Olay Anti-winkle firm and lift deep wrinkle treatment and Olay firm and lift eye renewal gel a try. I have noticed within a week of using the treatments a great improvement, especially around the eye area, lifting my eye lids. I haven’t used anti-wrinkle creams before as I didn’t think they would make a difference, I will be recommending these products to my friends and family.

I have used Oil of Olay for 20+ years, but just the basic formula. I have always received compliments on my skin, but I am now 50, I have lost 30 lbs and I can see it in my face (puffy eyes, wrinkles! and loss of elasticity) – and I’m not liking it! There are now so many Olay product lines to choose, I have been totally confused as to what I need. My skin is on the dryer side. So, after reading the reviews here, I think I will try the Regenerist line, unless someone can recommend another. My face needs help quick.

I am from Malaysia. I am currently using Olay Total Effects anti-aging and fairness cream…together with Olay Total Effects Facial Foaming Cleanser. The cleanser is creamy and foamy, but i wish it is creamier foam, since I have to use a lot to produce more foam. But after I washed my face, I feel my face so fresh and cleaner. I have used it for almost a month now and I feel that it is a good cleanser.

As for the cream, i feel that it is a very good moisturizer. I can see my face has less fine lines now, especially on my forehead and nose. I also apply the cream under my eyes to fight fine lines there, but it does not show any results yet. I can see my pores less visible now. I have pimple scars and this cream helps in lightening the scars. I feel my skin is softer and smoother.

I apply the cream on my face thrice a day. In the morning, before i go to work.. in the afternoon and at night.. to ensure that my skin stays moisturized and looks great. I have used this cream almost 3 months now.

The cream is value for money. After 3 month of usage, thrice applications a day, I still have not finished one bottle.

    I recommend this cream!!

Prior to buying Olay Pro X I read all the reviews about how amazing the products are but I also prefer Olay Regenerist. It really works better as a moisturizer. When I use Pro X my face feels dry afterwards. Definitely stick with regenerist if you have dry skin as Pro X is not as moisturizing.

I’ve been using Olay Pro x it for approximately 3 weeks and it as really improved my face. Of the wrinkles are still there but my skin just looks more radiant and I have been asked if I have had something done. For under $20, it really is a good skin care. I trust P & G products have been tested probably and safe to use.

Olay Regenerist is great stuff, don’t expect major miracles but it will make your skin have a noticeable clearer if you continue using it. It’s pretty light and is excellent for oily skin types. I have fine lines and wrinkles but they are small enough to conceal with a good concealer and foundation.

Olay reviews always seem positive but I am still hesitant to try because I am happy with my current Moisturizer. This new Pro X looks very interesting. I always want to try clinical skin care brands but hate the pushy sales tactics at the med spa. Is Pro X really that good or should I just try Regenerist first?

  • Martin Original review: Aug 07, 2013. Reply

Yesterday I bought Olay Regenerist and started using it this morning. So far I find the product to be very hydrating and I think I will continue using it. This is wonderful stuff. It does not make my skin sting and it seems to absorb quickly so you do not have to wait around before you can apply your foundation.

I would like to start using Olay Regenerist but have also heard about the Pro X range but not sure if it is worth spending more on this. I was using Oil of Olay ten years ago and that was quite nice but things have changed now. I need a good moisturizer that does everything.

  • Erin Original review: Jul 25, 2013. Reply

I just started using Olay Regenerist about a month ago. So far so good. No irritating. Looks like a good moisturizing. l ignore all the anti aging stuff but I noticed less wrinkles and improved skin texture and quality.

  • Olay Reviews Original review: Jul 18, 2013. Reply

As I was reading the top part of your review about Olay Regenerist, I also realized Olay is very good value for money since some of those ingredients are found in more expensive moisturizers. Plus I know P & G is a very big company and would obviously spend big bucks on research. How can a smaller brand even compete with Olay when they cant spend any bucks on research? What you’re saying makes sense so I will stick with using Olay for hopefully the next ten years.

Olay Age Defying Anti Wrinkle Night Cream Review

The Olay Age Defying Anti Wrinkle Night Cream has been a firm favorite from this infamous drugstore brand for years. This hydrating moisturizer was designed to offer the perfect balance of moisture for those with dry or mature skin types, while other ingredients within this formula help to prevent signs of aging from becoming more apparent. The main actives within this formula include a trio of vitamins such as vitamin E, vitamin B3 and vitamin B5. Each of these vitamins help the skin in different ways to ensure that you wake up with skin that feels smooth and plump. Starting off with vitamin E, this ingredient is loaded with antioxidants which help to eliminate any damage that has accumulated throughout the day due to exposure to environmental aggressors like pollution and free radicals. B vitamins on the other hand, like niacinamide, can help with everything from the appearance of pores to ensuring that your skin’s moisture levels remain consistent.

Olay White Radiance Light Perfecting Essence Review

The Olay White Radiance Light Perfecting Essence is a powerful brightening formula that is available through Olay Philippines. This exclusive was designed to provide a noticeable brightening effect the skin while simultaneously boosting radiance and evening out skin tone. Unlike other products on the market, this product does not use aggressive acids or harsh physical exfoliation to deliver results, but rather, a combination of unique complexes including their patented Pearl-OpticsTM Technology as well as their Sepitonic Complex. These two complexes provide different benefits for the skin. While the Pearl-Optics Technology works to brightening the skin, the Sepitonic Complex helps to prevent sallowness or yellowing of the skin. In addition to these complexes, ingredients like niacinamide also work alongside this formula to brighten, even and can also be used to help prevent future breakouts.

Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel Review

The Olay Eye Deep Hydrating Eye Gel combines all of the benefits of a lightweight gel with a moisturizing and nourishing eye cream to create a unique, hybrid product. This formula was developed to maintain a lightweight texture that melts into the skin with ease, while also delivering a range of skin loving ingredients. According to the brand, this product specifically targets signs of fatigue that can affect the eye area that makes skin appear duller, drier and less radiant. But what ingredients are responsible for these benefits? The formula behind the Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel contains supercharged hyaluronic acid, peptides, pro-vitamin B5, witch hazel and cucumber extract. Each of these ingredients benefit the skin in different ways. For example, peptides are amino acid precursors which work with the skin’s essential processes to boost the production of collagen and elastin. Unfortunately, as we age, the production of these two compounds begins to slow down, which can lead to fine lines, dullness and fatigue. Using peptides in your skincare routine helps to supplement the loss of collagen and elastin, delaying these signs of aging.

Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer Review

One of the most talked about drugstore stand bys is without a doubt the Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-aging Moisturizer. Olay as a whole has been known for bringing complex and highly sought after anti-aging ingredients and formulas to the drug store market for years, and have created an entire line devoted to age prevention that doesn’t break the bank. But their 7-in-1 formula stands out in the crowd for its incredibly versatile formulation. This product contains a blend of ingredients including their unique VitaNiacin complex, as well as green tea leaf extract and panthenol. These ingredients help to calm, soothe and smooth the skin, while the incredibly multi-faceted niacinamide goes to work to brighten the skin, prevent acne, minimize pores and diminish the appearance of fine lines. Because of this, this product would be a great addition for those of you who love a minimalistic yet multi-functional routine that delivers results with only a few key steps.

Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Night Firming Cream & Face Moisturizer Review

Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Night Firming Cream is said to fight seven signs of aging in one formula, such as replenishing moisture, restoring firmness, visibly smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing skin texture, improving skin tone, enhancing brightness, and instantly reducing the look of dark spots. One of the key ingredients in this night cream is niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that plays a vital role in cellular metabolism. This means that niacinamide provides skin cells with the energy needed to perform important processes, such as DNA repair and cell turnover. Niacinamide also has the ability to repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Night Firming Cream also contains three antioxidant ingredients: green tea leaf extract, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), and sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C). Antioxidants limit oxidative damage caused by free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. In addition, vitamin E is known to strengthen the skin’s barrier, which helps to prevent evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture. Vitamin C is known for its ability to brighten the skin, fade dark spots, and boost collagen production. Lastly, Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Night Firming Cream contains two highly effective humectants: glycerin and panthenol (provitamin B5). Humectants have a molecular structure with several hydrophilic (water loving) groups. This structure enables humectants to attract moisture and draw that moisture into the upper layers of skin in order to improve hydration.

Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream Review

Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream contains ingredients capable of hydrating skin (including glycerin and niacinamide), but has a texture that those with dry to very dry skin may find too light. Overall this is a good formula whose only shortcoming is the somewhat disappointing amount of antioxidants.
    INGREDIENTS

Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream Review

Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream is a scented, fast-absorbing face moisturizer that is said to fade the look of dark spots, age spots, sun spots and discoloration – promoting a more even skin tone. One of the key ingredients in this cream is niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that plays a vital role in cellular metabolism. Another key ingredient is acetyl glucosamine, which is a monosaccharide derivative of glucose. Similar to niacinamide, acetyl glucosamine provides numerous benefits to the skin. For example, this ingredient reduces the production of melanin through several mechanisms, which helps to decrease the appearance of dark spots and discoloration. Acetyl glucosamine also provides skin exfoliating properties similar to alpha and beta hydroxy acids without the irritation. Lastly, acetyl glucosamine has been shown to replenish hyaluronic acid levels in the skin, which improves hydration and gives the skin a “plump” look. In addition to these two key ingredients, Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream contains several antioxidant ingredients, including aloe leaf extract, sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), and green tea leaf extract. However, the jar packaging may render the antioxidant capability of these ingredients unstable due to exposure to light and air.

    INGREDIENTS

Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream Review

Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream is an anti-aging face cream that is said to keep your skin moisturized and immediately soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles. One of the key ingredients in this cream is niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that plays a vital role in cellular metabolism. Another key ingredient is palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, a type of messenger peptide that provides anti-aging benefits by signaling to cells to produce more collagen. Ultimately, this helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. There are two very effective humectants in the Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream: glycerin and panthenol (provitamin B5). A humectant is a hygroscopic substance that has a molecular structure with several hydrophilic (water loving) groups. This structure allows humectants to attract moisture and draw that moisture into the upper layers of skin, thereby improving hydration. Another key ingredient in the Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream is allantoin, which is a very gentle and effective moisturizing ingredient. Additionally, allantoin is a keratolytic, which means it has the ability to smooth skin through exfoliation of the top layer of dead skin cells. Allantoin can help to increase skin smoothness, aid in wound healing, and promote cell proliferation and longevity. Lastly, Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream provides your skin with protection against free radicals due to the antioxidants in green tea leaf extract and the lipid soluble antioxidant vitamin E.

Olay Mist Ultimate Hydration Essence Review

Olay Mist Ultimate Hydration Essence is a facial mist that instantly absorbs to hydrate dull, dry, and tight skin. This microfine mist contains an energizing blend of vitamin C (ascorbyl glucoside), bergamot, and niacinamide. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that provides the skin with protection against free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Vitamin C also has the ability to brighten skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots. The bergamot in the Olay Mist Ultimate Hydration Essence functions to energize the skin with a refreshing scent.

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that acts as a precursor to the coenzymes NADH and NADPH. These coenzymes play an important role in cellular metabolism, which means they provide skin cells with the energy needed to function properly. In fact, these coenzymes are involved in more than 40 biochemical processes, including DNA repair and cell turnover. Niacinamide also has the ability to repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. Overall, the Olay Mist Ultimate Hydration Essence contains several beneficial ingredients that can hydrate and refresh dull, tired-looking skin.

    INGREDIENTS

Olay Eyes Illuminating Eye Cream Review

Olay Eyes Illuminating Eye Cream is designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles under eyes in as little as two weeks. It was created with “dual-swirl technology”, which consists of a gel to hydrate and a cream to instantly reflect light from the eyes for a more even skin tone. The gel delivers hydrating ingredients such as glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, and panthenol (vitamin B5) which are all humectants. Humectants attract moisture in the air nearby via absorption and draw that moisture into the skin’s surface. The cream contains light-reflecting pigments, such as titanium dioxide and mica. By reflecting light away from the face, this cream creates the illusion of a smoother, softer, and more radiant skin tone. Of note, these pigments only temporarily improve skin tone, and they do not actually benefit the skin.

While the light-reflecting pigments only temporarily improve the look of dark circles, there are several other ingredients in the Olay Eyes Illuminating Eye Cream that do promote healthy skin. For instance, niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3) exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging effects, as well as improves the skin barrier function. Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 is a peptide that works by signaling to cells to produce more collagen, the protein skin needs to stay firm and wrinkle-free. Allantoin is an excellent moisturizing ingredient that also has anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce redness.

The Olay Eyes Eye Lifting Serum is a lightweight, hydrating eye cream that uses a number of active ingredients to brighten and smooth the under eye area. According to the brand, this product is able to instantly plump skin, which helps to reduce the appearance of under eye bags. This product features an advanced amino-peptide and vitamin complex that includes vitamins B3 and B5. These ingredients help to aid in cell turnover at the surface of the skin while also deeply hydrating and soothing the fragile skin around the eye. As a whole, this product would be an excellent option for those of you who are looking for an eye cream with a lighter texture that can be used as more of a preventative measure against the major signs of premature aging.

Olay Prox Even Skin Tone Spot Fading Treatment Review

The ProX by Olay Dermatological Anti-Aging Even Tone Spot Fading Treatment that offers something a little bit different from your traditional dark spot treatment. Most dark spot treatments contain either vitamin C or salicylic acid to exfoliate and brighten the skin. The Olay ProX however, uses niacinamide instead of these ingredients in order to deliver the majority of the brightening results. Depending on your skin type, this could actually be a better alternative. Niacinamide, or vitamin B5, is a much gentler ingredient than vitamin C or salicylic acid. Vitamin C, depending on your skin type, can take a few weeks for your skin to get used to. Salicylic acid, on the other hand, doesn’t require an adjustment period, but can be irritating if used every single day, as many dark spot treatments suggest. So if you have sensitive skin, the Olay ProX Even Skin Tone Spot Fading Treatment may be a better alternative for you. Additionally, niacinamide has also been known to help pores appear smaller, so if you’re concerned about enlarged pores, this may be an added bonus for you.

Olay ProX Nightly Purifying Micro Peel

As our skin ages and develops the common signs of aging, products like Olay ProX Nightly Purifying Micro Peel may offer a potential solution to issues like hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. This specialty night serum was developed by Olay, the international skin care brand that has been offering skin products since 1949. Originally founded in South Africa, this skin care company grew to immense proportions, and was purchased several times by other conglomerates – with Procter & Gamble being its current owner. Today, the company touts Olay ProX Nightly Purifying Micro Peel as a dermatologist-designed solution for gentle skin exfoliation and boosting of skin moisture. Further, the lack of fragrance and artificial colorants in Olay ProX Nightly Purifying Micro Peel can make it a viable choice for skin prone to inflammation and irritation.

Olay Toner Facts If you’re looking for a skin care product that will give your skin a deep-down cleaning that’s more effective than soap and water, you may want to consider a toning product, such as the Olay Oil Minimizing Skin Toner. This Olay toner is one of many skin care and beauty supplies sold by the Olay Company, which was founded by Graham Wulf in 1949. In addition to this Olay toner, other skin care products offered in the company’s collection include night creams, body care items, cleansers, moisturizers, and products that are specially formulated to fight acne and the signs of aging. The Oil Minimizing Skin Toner is designed for those with oily, acne-prone skin, and is thought to help reduce breakouts of unsightly acne. This Olay toner is currently available throughout the U.S.

    About Olay Toner

Olay toner contains a number of ingredients that are designed to penetrate the skin more effectively than soap in order to cleanse the pores of dirt, oil, and makeup, according to the manufacturer. Because all of these elements have the tendency to block pores and cause acne breakouts, you may want to especially consider adding this toner to your skin care collection if you use cosmetics and have oily skin as well. This Olay toner is dermatologist tested and was designed to prevent acne by removing oil, dirt and sebum that can clog hair follicles.

Olay Foaming Face Wash contains none of the ingredients that typically irritate sensitive or acne-prone skin, such as harsh soaps and fragrances, though it is still possible to experience an allergic reaction when using this product. But if you have been looking for a dermatologist-tested facial cleanser for your sensitive skin care kit, then this product may be a good choice. If you are under the care of a dermatologist, asking a professional opinion about whether the ingredients in Olay Foaming Face Wash are appropriate for your skin situation, will help you make a better-informed decision about this product and possible alternatives.

    Olay Definity

Olay Definity: Product Overview Olay Definity is one of many products manufactured by the Olay Company. Olay was founded by Graham Wulf in South Africa in 1949, and today, the lineup includes night creams, cleansers, body care items, cleansers, and products that target acne and the signs of aging. Olay Definity is formulated to reduce two signs of aging: fine lines and wrinkles and skin discoloration caused by sun exposure. Unlike other anti-aging products in the Olay skin care lineup, this item is formulated for short-term use to treat specific problems associated with aging skin. While Olay Definity has been recently discontinued, there are still several online retailers that still carry this product.

    About Olay Definity

Olay Definity is a skin care kit that works to heal skin that has been damaged by environmental toxins, such as sun damage that has caused premature aging and dark spots. The kit contains thirteen skin treatments and a moisturizing mask. The Olay Definity kit is designed for use in stages, where the single treatments heal and revitalize the skin step by step.

Olay Definity may be a viable skin care choice for people who are looking to heal sun damage and dark spots quickly instead of having to invest in a long-term treatment. Olay Pro-X Review

Olay Pro-X Review: Product Overview and Information Olay is a well-known skin care and cosmetics company that was founded in South Africa in 1945, and since then, the company has created many different skin care products, such as the Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System. This product, which is designed to give the skin of your face a deep-down cleansing so that it removes makeup and exfoliates the skin, has a spinning replaceable brush head and several different speed options so that you can choose the level of cleansing your skin receives. The Olay Pro-X is a battery-powered, hand-held facial cleanser that you can use both in the morning and in the evening as part of your cleansing regimen before you apply makeup or your evening cleanser and moisturizer. This Olay microdermabrasion tool costs about $30, which makes it much more affordable than other tools of its kind. However, keep in mind that the Olay Pro-X is not a sonic cleanser and that its features are limited, so it's a good idea to talk to your dermatologist and read product reviews before making a purchase.

The Features of the Olay Pro-X

The Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System features a spinning brush that operates on either a "low" or a "high" feature, depending on the level of cleansing and exfoliation you're looking for. The brush head, which is soft and replaceable, is designed to reach deep into pores to remove old makeup, excess oil, and other debris that can clog pores and cause the formation of acne. The exfoliation caused by the action of the brush results in a deep-down clean that also opens the pores so that medicated washes or other cleansers are more effective.
