Best best. The Carrot & Stick skincare bundle worth up to $240 for $88.

If you’re the kind of shopper who carefully reads every label, whether it’s on a bottle of cold pressed green juice or a moisturizer, there’s a good chance you may be switching to natural skincare. Just as everything you put into your body has an impact, so does everything you put on to your skin – and every product we use has an impact on the environment as well. Simply put, ingredients matter. Today’s consumers know this, and are educating themselves about everything that shows up in their skincare products – and asking for more transparency from companies about what exactly is in their products and the packaging.
Whether you’re already a fan of natural skincare or simply want to try it, one of the newest naturally derived skincare brands is Carrot & Stick. The collection offers the best of both worlds meaning it combines plant based ingredients with cutting edge science to formulate skincare products that are effective, but also gentle to the environment. Here’s a closer look.
What is Carrot & Stick?
Years ago it seemed like there were only two options when it came to skincare. Choosing “natural” skincare meant that the products were safe for your skin and the environment, but they came at a price. Effectiveness was often sacrificed for safety and gentleness. Synthetically made skincare was more powerful but could often raise health and environmental concerns. But now consumers don’t have to choose, thanks to brands like Carrot & Stick.
Carrot & Stick takes a tough love approach to skincare, perfectly balancing the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science. The result? Straightforward, effective skincare that delivers radiant looking skin that is good for you and good for the environment. The collection covers all the basic skincare needs with a moisturizer, serum, face wash, brightening pads and targeted serums to address various skincare concerns.
While Carrot & Stick products all rely on naturally sourced ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, vitamin E and cannabis sativa, what is equally important is what doesn’t go inside the formulas. The brand skips harmful chemicals commonly found in skincare products. The company is also environmentally conscious, and is committed to eliminating known irritants and pollutants that can compromise skin health and contaminate the environment. The packaging is streamlined to help cut down on waste.
What Is the Carrot & Stick Philosophy?
Carrot & Stick combines the best of both worlds, meaning it bridges the gap between nature and science. Its products incorporate the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science. The result? Skin that looks healthy and radiant skin minus the toxins. Carrot & Stick products are also environmentally friendly.
Who Should Use Carrot & Stick?
Carrot & Stick products are suitable for all ages and all skin types. The brand will appeal to anyone who wants to combine plant based ingredients with cutting edge science for a tough love approach to skincare – where nothing is compromised. Carrot & Stick products are also ideal for consumers who want transparency and openness from their skincare brand, and who are concerned about the environmental consequences of their purchases. The brand has a streamlined collection of products which means it’s easy to build a skincare routine with everything you need for glowing, radiant looking skin.
What Ingredients are in Carrot & Stick Products?
The brand incorporates naturally derived ingredients such as plant proteins and plant-based neuropeptides and cannabis sativa. Other key ingredients include vitamin C, which helps to brighten the skin and fade the look of dark spots; vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps nourish the skin; hydrating hemp seed oil and glycerin, a humectant. Additional ingredients include sea buckthorn oil, which is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties; horse chestnut seed extract and oat kernel extract. Rounding out the ingredients list are proven heavy hitters like this group of AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids)- mandelic and lactic acid- and BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) like salicylic acid. Another key ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water.
It is also important to highlight what customers won’t find in Carrot & Stick products. The company calls it the “Nix List,” and these unwanted ingredients includes sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban and synthetic fragrances.
What Does Carrot & Stick Sell?
The Carrot & Stick collection offers the basics plus a few targeted treatments, and currently contains seven products. Here’s a closer look.
The Defence Serum – Protect and replenish skin with this daily serum. The Defense Serum is packed with three vitamin C derivatives which work together to promote collagen and visibly brighten the skin. The daily dose of vitamin C also helps fight free radical damage and enhance cellular longevity. Apply morning and evening to clean skin and allow to dry.
Carrot & Stick The Concentrate – This bi-phase serum combines anti-aging ingredients with moisture-rich natural oils in one replenishing and nourishing formula. Plant-derived collagen boosts structure and antioxidant-rich extracts help combat the effects of environmental stress for a smooth, luminous complexion.
The Moisturizer – Carrot & Stick’s moisturizer can be applied in the morning and at night. It delivers a big dose of hydration while also helping to leave the skin looking smooth and bright, thanks to potent plant proteins, vitamins, peptides and amino-collagen. The formula contains an active complex of three naturally derived bio-ferments to support greater nutrient density and more efficient absorption. A caffeine boost helps perk up the skin while five distinct coconut elements help with cell renewal and overall conditioning. The Moisturizer is suitable for all skin types.
The Face Wash – The best face washes leave skin squeaky clean without feeling too tight or dry, and that’s exactly what this product does. The Face Wash is formulated with gentle but effective botanicals to whisk away dirt, sweat and makeup while leaving skin feeling nourished. The cleanser is powered by expeller-pressed rose hip seed oil which rejuvenates with essential fatty acids, soothing geranium flower and red seaweed which protects against environmental stressors.
The Brightening Pads – One of the easiest ways to give skin a thorough (but gentle) exfoliation is with pre-soaked pads. The Brightening Pads contain a potent blend of salicylic, lactic and mandelic acids to help sweep away dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother looking skin. Herbal extracts fight photo damage and keep redness in check. The pads can be used on the face, neck and décolleté.
The Eye Cream – This eye cream tackles a little bit of everything in the eye area, including sagging, dark circles and bags. The Eye Cream is powered by botanicals including Persian silk tree (Albizia julibrissin) which has an anti-glycation effect – meaning it helps tighten and protect the delicate skin around the lids. St. Paul’s wort (Sigesbeckia orientalis) stimulates collagen and elastin to help restore vitality. The Eye Cream can be used day and night.
Is Carrot & Stick Cruelty Free?
Yes, Carrot & Stick is cruelty-free and takes a humane approach to beauty. The company never tests on animals, and does not sell its products in countries that require testing such as in China. Many brands claim to be cruelty-free but if a company’s products are sold in countries where animal testing is required, health authorities in those countries still require and carry out animal testing for certain products.

DSP Original review: Jun 22, 2021.
I have to concur that C&S is working for me, and I’m 47. I had been using Ordinary for months with just blah results and my skin was definitely losing alot firmness and brightness even with their more targeted products. I was also just looking to transition to greener products in general incuding makeup and bodycare. I am impressed so far with just two weeks in at the results C&S is giving me. I have firmer brigter skin and my brown spots seem to be vanishing. I do recommend bundling up to save rather than buying products individually. Also, follow their instructions carefully on the brightening pads. You must wash this. product off as it’s an acid. I made the mistake of leaving it on the first time I used it. I like their skincare steps too. Very simple and easy to follow. Great job Derm Review on recommending this one.
