09.28.18AD DISCLOSURE

There’s a good chance that you have bought a buttery yellow tube of Clinique’s Dramatically Different Lotion at some point in your life. Or perhaps when you were a child, you saw a series of yellow, green and purple Clinique bottles on your mother’s bathroom vanity. Clinique is a skincare brand that has been around for decades, and is synonymous with a clinical approach to beauty. Here’s a closer look at Clinique, some of its best-selling products, and is it right for you?

What are the Best Skin Care Products of 2020?

What is Clinique?

The idea for Clinique was sparked in 1967 article, after US Vogue published an article called “Can Great Skin Be Created?” The story featured Manhattan dermatologist Dr. Norman Orentreich, whose beauty philosophy was based on the idea that anyone could have good skin if they followed a proper skincare routine. The article caught the eye of Evelyn Lauder (daughter-in-law of famed beauty mogul Estée Lauder), who joined forces with Orentreich and US Vogue editor Carol Phillips to develop a skin care brand.

Clinique Reviews

The result was Clinique, which launched in 1968. It was one of the first brands to bring a dermatological approach to skincare. What made Clinique different is that it avoided any ingredients that could potentially irritate the skin or cause allergies, such as fragrance. Even today, Clinique products are free from parabens, phthalates and fragrance.

Another factor that made Clinique unique is that instead of taking a one-size fits all approach to the products, the Clinique line was meant to evoke a one-on-one consultation that patients would get at Dr. Orentreich’s practice. The company created the “Clinique Computer,” which was a non-electronic display box with sliding knobs that helped customers pinpoint their skin type.

The idea was a hit and now Clinique is one of the best-selling skincare brands in the world. The customization concept lives on in products like Clinique iD Custom-Blend Hydrator Collection. Customers pick their hydration base and add a cartridge to address their main skin concern, such as uneven skin tone or fine lines. Clinique is also known for its generous “gift with purchase” policy.

What Does Clinique Sell?

Clinique sells a wide range of makeup, skincare and fragrance, as well as a men’s line and an acne collection. Here’s a closer look.

Is Clinique Cruelty Free?

Its parent company, Estée Lauder, says “The Estée Lauder Companies does not test on animals and we never ask others to do so on our behalf. If a regulatory body demands it for its safety or regulatory assessment, an exception can be made.”

Do Clinique Products Work?

When evaluating whether or not a product works, remember that everyone’s skin can react differently to the same product. One person’s miracle product could do nothing for someone else, or perhaps make them break out.

Clinique is a brand that has been around for decades and has its loyal fans who appreciate the brand’s simple approach to beauty. A few of its products have generated plenty of buzz, such as the Chubby Sticks and Black Honey lipstick, as well as City Block. Clinique has also scooped up plenty of awards from beauty editors. Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10% received an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2018. In 2019, Clinique iD Custom-Blend Hydrator Collection was nominated for a Beauty Game Changer of the Year award from British Vogue. Clinique’s Even Better Glow was awarded a Beauty Style Award from The Times of London in 2018.

Customer reviews are largely positive. Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel has over 3,000 reviews on Sephora, with a 4.5 star rating and over 70,000 “loves.” Reviews include “This stuff is amazing. I have EXTREMELY oily skin and this product works wonders! My face doesn’t get as oily as before. I deff recommend this!” as well as “This is the best moisturizer for acne prone skin and because its a gel, its non greasy and sheer. Love this stuff! And 4oz defintely lasts!”

Users who didn’t like the product cited that it irritated their skin, or didn’t do anything for them. “I wanted to love this….I really did. Upon using it for about 5 days I started breaking out all over my face….in places I usually never break out. I am very annoyed…” and “I’ve literally never had anything break me out so terribly. Tried it out for about 2 weeks to see if the break outs were maybe caused by my skin just adjusting to the new product but that wasn’t it. Bought it because of the reviews but I’m very disappointed.”

Clinique’s Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator garnered 735 reviews on Sephora, with an average 4.5 stars and over 30,000 “loves.” Those who didn’t love it said “It made me break out and have very bad acne. Would not recommend if you have sensitive skin” while satisfied consumers praised its lightweight hydration. “I have very dry skin due to eczema, especially around my mouth. This cream made my skin soft and as smooth as glass. Now when I wear makeup, I look beautiful for once 🙂 Love this stuff and their “Pretty Easy” eyeliner.”

What Are Some Alternatives to Clinique?

Clinique may not work for everyone, and some people may not want to spend that much money on their skincare. Many of the ingredients that Clinique uses, such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and vitamin A, can be found in lower priced brands. If you’re looking for a well-rounded skincare line, there are a few other brands to consider, including Formulyst and Advanced Dermatology.

Formulyst’s philosophy is long-term and effective skincare. The brand wants to help its customers achieve their best looking skin, rather than covering it up with makeup. The comprehensive line of products targets everything from wrinkles to dark spots and dry skin.

Formulyst’s Luminous Skin Serum tackles skin discoloration such as dark spots thanks to Triple Brightening Technology, a powerful blend of alpha arbutin (derived from the bearberry plant), rumex extract (a plant that helps stop the production of melanin) and a biomimetic peptide. The serum leaves skin looking lighter and brighter.

Retinol, a vitamin A derivative, is the star ingredient in Formulyst’s Anti-Aging Night Cream. What makes this formula different is that it contains a high dose of retinol but it’s also packed with ultra-soothing and hydrating safflower seed oil and jojoba to lock moisture in and soothe the skin.

Dry, parched skin is no match for Formulyst Super Hyaluronic Water Moisturizer. The hero ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and can hold up to 1,000 times it weight in water. This lightweight, oil free formula works by attracting water to the skin and contains multiple types of hyaluronic acid – and delivers hydration without leaving skin feeling weighed down.

If you like the simplicity of a skincare kit, consider Advanced Dermatology. This no nonsense brand offers a pared down approach to skincare. The packaging is simple and streamlined, and the products bring skincare back to the basics. The kit contains just six essential items including a daily cleanser; serum; anti-wrinkle firming treatment; night cream; day cream and an eye cream. In other words, everything you need to achieve your best possible looking skin.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique For Men Maximum Hydrator Review

Clinique for Men Maximum Hydrator Activated Water-Gel Concentrate is an ultra-light water-gel formula that is said to instantly refresh and quench dehydrated skin. The formula features Liquid-Sphere Technology, which combines water-binding ingredients with encapsulated antioxidants to help break the cycle of dryness and environmental stress that can age skin’s appearance. The formula contains plenty of humectants, including glycerin, sucrose, hydroxyethyl urea, Aloe vera leaf water, algae extract, trehalose, and sodium hyaluronate. Humectants have a molecular structure with several hydrophilic (water loving) groups, which allows them to attract and retain the moisture in the air nearby via absorption in order to improve skin hydration.

Clinique for Men Maximum Hydrator Activated Water-Gel Concentrate also contains cholesterol, which can help to restore the skin’s lipid barrier. A weak or damaged barrier allows moisture to escape from the skin, and may let harmful things like allergens, bacteria, and irritants to pass through into the deeper layers of skin. This can result in symptoms like dryness, itching, irritation, and even signs of aging. By restoring the skin’s lipid barrier, Clinique for Men Maximum Hydrator Activated Water-Gel Concentrate helps to promote smoother, healthier skin.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser Review

The Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser was designed to serve as a facial cleansing alternative for those who struggle with dryness, tightness or irritation post-cleansing. Foam many of us, highly foaming cleansers without a buffer can feel drying, upset the pH balance of our skin and leave us feeling parched and sensitive. In order to eliminate that feeling, the best thing you can do is switch up your cleanser to something with more of a moisturizing base. The Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser offers a little bit of both worlds. As a foaming cleanser, it still delivers that oh so satisfying, purifying feeling, but the cream-mousse consistency of this product cuts down on any dryness, leaving the skin feeling clean, but still comfortable, moisturized and fresh.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel Review

The Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel was designed to offer users an over the counter alternative to prescription acne care products that provided similar results within a short amount of time. According to the brand, the results you can expect from this product are as good as the leading topical prescription for clearing acne. The main active ingredients within this format include 1% salicylic acid, as well as sugar kelp and sea whip extract. These three ingredients work together to starting clearing blemishes and reducing their visibility, while also preventing new breakouts from forming in the future. Depending on your skin type and how you experience acne and breakouts, you can either apply this product all over in a thin layer, or spot treat certain areas that commonly experience breakouts. Finally, it’s worth noting that the first ingredient in this formula is denatured alcohol, so if you do have sensitive or dry skin, this could be potentially irritating.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Review

Taking a look at a classic, the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap is one of those products that has really stood the test of time. This product was released as part of the iconic three step system that Clinique has been known for for years. The 3 Step Skin Care System was one of the first products in the US market that made an organized ritual out of skincare, rather than just using one or two products. As the first step in this system, the Liquid Facial Soap was designed to be a dermatologist approved liquid facial cleanse that removed impurities thoroughly. As a result, this formula behind this product is fairly stripped down and basic to suit all skin types without over drying or creating irritation. Additionally, this quick rinsing formula works with your skin so that you can run through your skincare routine quickly and effectively while still achieving the desired results.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Blackhead Solutions Self Heating Blackhead Extractor Review

The Clinique Blackhead Solutions Self Heating Blackhead Extractor combines the ease of a potent formulation with the functionality of a tool to act as a one two punch against blackheads. This uniquely designed product was created as a method for extracting and dissolving blackheads without damaging your skin or causing pain. Though you may not realize it, using extraction methods like nose strips or extractors without the proper methods or training can actually lead to permanently enlarged pores down the road. In order to avoid this, the Clinique Blackhead Solutions Self Heating Blackhead Extractor takes out all of the guess work in order to order a one step, easy method of extraction. The formula behind this product develops as warming sensation as it is applied to the skin which makes it easier and more comfortable to extract blackheads completely damage free.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster Review

The Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster, also known as the Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10%, offers those who have done their research on vitamin C and have been on the hunt for a truly active vitamin C product. If you’ve been on the hunt for vitamin C for a while, you’ve probably heard that vitamin C can actually be quite a pain to formulate with, as it oxidizes very quickly in the presence of water. In order to avoid this formulating pitfall, Clinique devised a completely water-free, powder based system that delivers a freshly pressed serum that you can utilize at home. The Fresh Pressed Daily Booster is made up of 2 components, a solid tablet composed of vitamin C or ascorbic acid powder, and a liquid serum based, both of which are contained in their unique packaging. The user presses down on the top end of the bottle to break the seal between the powder and the liquid, creating a mixed serum, which is to be used for the next seven days. Simply mix 2 drops into your moisturizer during your morning and even routine to see the full benefits of this uniquely constructed formulation.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil Review

The Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil builds on the already wildly popular Take the Day Off range of products. The product line began with the iconic Take the Day Off Cleansing balm, but has since evolved and expanded to include a number of additional products to suit different skin types. The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil is a slightly lighter, liquid alternative to the cult favorite balm, but features many of the same ingredients. For those with more sensitive, reactive, oily or clog prone skin types, the original Take The Day Off Balm can potentially be a bit too heavy for everyday use when removing makeup prior to cleansing. The Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil on the other hand has a much lighter consistency and rinses off the skin with ease, making it much easier to remove all traces of even the toughest waterproof mascara with a few simple swipes.

INGREDIENTS

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid Review

The Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid offers users a unique moisturizing experience in a lightweight, liquid yet also creamy formulation. But how does this product work? The Dr Jart Ceramidin line was specially designed to serve as a deeply moisturizing, nourishing and repairing range that highlights the unique abilities of ceramides using their 5-Cera Complex. Ceramides, along with fatty acids and cholesterol make up the core building blocks of a healthy and well functioning moisture barrier. Ceramides help to make sure that your skin stays in balance, and is able to use the full use of the hydration found in this formula, as well as the rest of the products in your existing skincare routine. Along with the rest of this formula, this product would be an excellent addition for those of you with dry or easily dehydrated skin.

INGREDIENTS

Dr. Jart Water Max Sleeping Mask Review

The Dr. Jart Water Max Sleeping Mask, also known as the Dr. Jart Water Fuse Hydro Sleeping Mask, was designed to protect the skin while delivering essential moisture, all while you sleep. As sleeping masks have become more common as part of a moisturizing and nourishing skincare routine, there are now a number of options out there to help you specifically target some of your most pressing skincare concerns. This sleeping mask in particular works to hydrate the skin while also utilizes minerals and key nutrients to boost the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Pink Himalayan Salt works to strengthen the skin’s metabolism in order to promote cell regeneration while belgium hot spring water helps to expel impurities from the pores in order to deliver, clearer, calmer and more even looking skin.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream Review

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream is a lightweight, oil-free brightening and anti-aging eye cream that is said to hydrate, brighten, and perk up your look. Like many eye creams, Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream contains caffeine, a natural stimulant and antioxidant. Applying caffeine to the skin causes vasoconstriction (constriction of the blood vessels), which helps to reduce the amount of blood that accumulates under the eyes (a major factor that contributes to dark circles). Additionally, vasoconstriction can firm the skin due to the removal of excess fluids and possible stimulation of the lymphatic drainage system. Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream also contains several different types of peptides, which work by sending signals to cells to produce new collagen. Over time, increased collagen levels promote firmer skin with less fine lines and wrinkles.

There are numerous moisture-retaining ingredients in the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream, including glycerin, shea butter, squalane, dimethicone, algae extract, and sodium hyaluronate. These ingredients help to increase the skin’s hydration, which promotes a smoother complexion and may help decrease the appearance of fine lines. Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream includes many plant-based antioxidants that can help protect skin against free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Lastly, Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream contains very small amounts (less than 1%) of the light-reflecting pigments mica and titanium dioxide. These ingredients would normally help to provide a brightening effect, however, they are present in such small amounts that their effects will most likely not be noticeable.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask Review

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is a creamy, oil-free facial mask that is said to deeply moisturize while you sleep so that you wake up to a dewy glow in the morning. It can be used by all skin types, although it is ideal for those with dry skin. This formula consists of several types of emollients, water-binding agents, and antioxidants. The occlusive emollients in this mask, such as shea butter, mango seed butter, and murumuru seed butter, work by creating a physical barrier on the surface of skin that traps in moisture to reveal softer, more hydrated skin.

The water-binding agents in the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask include humectants like glycerin, sucrose, and sodium hyaluronate, as well as several types of algae extracts. In addition to binding water to the skin, algae extracts are typically rich in beneficial components such as trace minerals, sugars, and amino acids. Lastly, the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask provides your skin with antioxidants like tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), caffeine, pantethine, bisabolol, oryzanol, and more. Antioxidants work by limiting oxidative damage caused by free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is 100% fragrance free and does not contain parabens or phthalates.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique iD Custom-Blend Hydrator Collection Review

One of the newest releases from Clinique is the Clinique iD Custom-Blend Hydrator Collection. This unique concept uses a variety of serums in order to create a custom-made 2-in-1 product. The idea behind this product is to take one of the three most popular moisturizing bases and combine them with one of the five new serums. The unique packaging allows the serum to blend with the moisturizing base of your choosing to become one, easy to apply step to finish off your skincare routine. The three bases available include the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, the Dramatically Different Oil-Control Gel and the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. Additionally, there are 5 different serums that aim to tackle different skin concerns. These include a purple serum concentrate for fine lines and wrinkles, an orange serum concentrate for fatigue, a white serum concentrate for uneven skin tone, a green serum concentrate for irritation and a blue serum concentrate for enlarged pores and uneven skin texture.

Clinique Fresh Pressed 7-Day System with Pure Vitamin C Review

Ascorbic acid, also known as pure vitamin C, is one of the most difficult ingredients to formulate with. Although this ingredient offers a wide array of benefits, when combined with other ingredients, vitamin C tends to oxidize quickly, rendering it almost useless. To avoid that, companies like Clinique have started to release more creative solutions so that customers can have all the benefits of vitamin C, without wasting product or seeing irritation. The Clinique Fresh Pressed 7-Day System with Pure Vitamin C is a booster that allows users to apply a freshly pressed serum to your skin. The product comes with two components, including the powder vitamin C packages and the serum base. As a cleanser, the vitamin C powder can be used on it’s own with water to create an exfoliating cleanser. As a booster or serum, the brand recommends combining the powder with the liquid using their specially designed application to get a single dose, super potent, fresh pressed serum.

Clinique Advanced Concealer

When struggling with skin blemishes like sunspots or acne scars, it is common for women to turn to products like Clinique Advanced Concealer, which claim to cover up hyperpigmentation issues. Although it’s important to address such blemishes in the long term (through AHA creams, exfoliation, and even professional skin treatments), a concealer can be a great short term solution to feel beautiful and boost your self esteem. However, not all concealers are created equal. To be effective, the concealer must look natural and has to withstand sweat and moisture. Further, products like Clinique Advanced Concealer have to be lightweight, so as not to clog pores and exacerbate acne. INGREDIENTS

Clinique Sonic System

Is the Clinique Sonic System Right for You? If you have large pores, clogged pores, or acne-prone skin, you may want to consider the addition of a sonic cleaning tool, such as the Clinique Sonic System, to your skin care kit. This system, which includes a waterproof sonic cleansing brush and foaming facial cleanser, is designed to lift excess oil, cosmetics, and other impurities from the pores in a way that washing with soap and water may not be able to reach. The Clinique Sonic System is one of many skin care products that are offered by Clinique, which was created by the Estee Lauder family in 1968 as an offshoot of its own cosmetics and skin care brand. This sonic cleansing system is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive or acne-prone skin, according to the manufacturer. The Clinique Sonic System is available for shipping throughout the U.S. and Canada.

About the Clinique Sonic System

The Clinique Sonic System is designed to cleanse pores deep down to improve the texture and tone of the skin using sonic vibrations. Not only does it cleanse and unclog pores of the excess oil, cosmetics, and dead skin cells that can clog them and cause them to appear enlarged, it also allows the skin to better absorb moisturizers, acne washes, and other skin care products, according to the manufacturer.

Clinique BB Cream

Clinique BB Cream: Ingredients and Purchasing Information Clinique BB Cream is formulated to improve the look and feel of the skin as it offers sun protection, making it a viable option for anyone who wants to add a BB cream to their skin care kit that offers more than one benefit. This BB cream, which is part of the Clinique line of products that was first introduced in 1968 when the company was founded by Carol Phillips, a beauty editor with Vogue magazine, and Dr. Norman Orentreich. Clinique BB Cream can also be used as a primer to improve the performance and longevity of your foundation, according to the manufacturer. This BB cream is packaged in a 1.4 ounce tube. Clinique BB Cream is available in the U.S. and in many other countries overseas.

About Clinique BB Cream

Clinique BB Cream is marketed as an anti-aging product because of its sun protection, which is concentrated at SPF 30. This level of SPF is quite significant and blocks a large portion of the sun’s UV rays, which contain free radicals that have the ability to destroy healthy skin cells. This is important because when free radicals are absorbed by the skin, they steal the components from healthy cells. This eventually causes healthy cells to die, which results in a loss of collagen and the more rapid development of wrinkles.

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector Review

The Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector was created to serve as a targeted eye cream that specifically addresses dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles are mostly a genetic condition, although they can sometimes appear better or worse depending on your lifestyle, products, and other factors. The Clinique Dark Circle Corrector features an oil-free formula that addresses dark circles by ingredient skin strengthening ingredients that helps to make the skin under the eye look less transparent. In addition to these ingredients, this formula also includes light reflective particles which help to diminish the appearance of dark circles instantly by creating the appearance of a brighter, more radiance under eye area. These two components target dark circles in both the short term and long term, so you can get more results in a shorter amount of time.

Clinique Blackhead Solutions Review

Clinique Blackhead Solutions is one of the few products on the market that has been specifically formulated to target blackheads and congestion within the pores. Blackheads are a category of acne-related spots where the dirt, debri and dead skin cells from which the pore begin to oxidize, forming what appears like small black or dark brown spots. Blackheads can affect more oily areas of the skin including the T-zone, around the nose and chin. In order to effectively target these stubborn spots, this gentle-yet-effective formula mixes with water to create a warming sensation in order to open up the pores. Additionally, key ingredients like glucosamine and salicylic acid work together to penetrate deep into the pore and dissolve any of the dirt, makeup residue or excess oil that is trapped inside.

Clinique for Men Super Energizer Review

Clinique For Men Super Energizer Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Powder Cleanser, the Clinique For Men Super Energizer Anti-Fatigue Hydrating Concentrate Broad Spectrum SPF 25 and the Clinique For Men Super Energizer Anti-Fatigue Depuffing Eye Gel. These three products have been designed to address a handful of specific skin concerns including dullness, dehydration, uneven skin tone and general signs of aging. Additionally, this routine has been crafted to be used together, in order to create a seamless, easy to use routine that can be applied every morning. The key active ingredients in this formula include vitamin C and exfoliating enzymes to remove toxins, address congestion and clogged pores, eliminate excess oil and aid in cell turnover.

Clinique Fresh Pressed Overnight Booster Review

Clinique Fresh Pressed Overnight Booster provides you with freshly activated vitamin A (retinol) to deliver prescription-level results against visible lines and wrinkles. After pressing the inner bulb to release the vitamin into the de-aging soothing emulsion, you simply shake the container then mix 2 to 3 pumps with your normal moisturizer. Retinol is extremely sensitive to light and air, so this delivery system helps to maintain its potency. Since this booster contains retinol, it should only be used at night and daily sunscreen use is imperative.

The Clinique Fresh Pressed Overnight Booster allows a potent dose of retinol to penetrate deep into the skin’s surface. After being absorbed, retinol is converted to retinoic acid (the active form of vitamin A). Retinoic acid interacts with receptors to increase the production of procollagen and functions to block the release of inflammatory mediators. In addition, retinol is a potent antioxidant that can protect the skin from free radical damage. Ultimately, this means that retinol has the ability to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.

Clinique Smart Night Review

If you’re looking for a night time moisturizer that deeply nourishes without risking clogged pores, the Clinique Smart Night Repair Moisturizer may be just the thing you’ve been looking for. This product was designed for dry or very dry skin types that struggle with finding the right moisturizer. Often times, those deeply nourishing plant oils can be some of the worst offenders when it comes to clogged pores. To combat that, this moisturizing formula provides the same amount of hydration and moisture that you would expect from an oil-rich moisturizer in a completely oil free formula. Instead of these ingredients, the formula behind this product uses a number of alternative occlusives, which include dimethicone, Murumuru seed butter and petrolatum. Although some of these ingredients have been on the receiving end of some bad press, dimethicone and petrolatum are actually fairly unlikely to clog the pores, as their molecule size is too big to do so.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Superbalanced

Clinique has long been regarded as one of the pioneer cosmetic brands that successfully fused makeup with skin care. Both Clinique skin care and makeup products are some of the most celebrated and widely used in the makeup industry. Of Clinique’s extensive line of products, the Clinique Superbalanced line is one of the brand’s most popular. The Clinique Superbalanced makeup line consists of two types of foundation that have been dubbed “smart makeup”. Each Clinique Superbalanced foundation has an uncanny ability to be moisturizing where skin needs moisture and absorbs oil where the skin is oily. Smart indeed. Each oil-free Clinique Superbalanced foundation formulation works to balance the skin and control oil leaving behind a naturally flawless finish.

Clinique Superbalanced Makeup vs Clinique Superbalanced Silk

The two foundations in the Clinique Superbalanced Makeup line are the regular Clinique Superbalanced foundation and the Clinique Superbalanced Silk foundation. Let’s dig into each type and what makes them unique.

Clinique Superbalanced Foundation: The original Clinique Superbalanced foundation was designed specifically for Clinique skin types 2 & 3. In "non-Clinique" vocabulary that means dry combination or combination oily skin. This liquid foundation has an ultra-lightweight texture that glides on smooth for buildable coverage with a natural finish. Once the Clinique Superbalanced foundation is applied, it leaves behind a nice silky smooth finish to skin as well. You’ll find that the original Clinique Superbalanced foundation is available in an extensive 22 shade range with a number of shades to suit numerous skin tones and complexions. The lightest shade in the Clinique Superbalanced line is Alabaster, a pale shade with neutral undertones, while the darkest shade is Clove, a deep color with a pink undertone.

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum Review

What is Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum? While Clinique is most well known for its 3-step Skin Care system, the brand is constantly coming out with new products for almost every skin concern you can think of. One example is the Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum, which is claimed to visibly improve major signs of aging, including a more uniform tone, refined texture, and visibly diminished lines. So does Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum live up to these claims? Find out below in our Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum review!

What are the key ingredients in Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum?

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum is named after the brand’s patented technology used in the formulation of this serum: Clinique Smart Technology. Interestingly, the brand does not reveal what ingredients make up this technology. Rather, they explain that this technology is “smart” because it targets your unique skin concerns by interpreting the signals the skin sends when damaged. You see, our skin has a multitude of signals that it uses, and there is constant cell signaling that occurs between the cells, particularly when damage occurs. By understanding these signals, Clinique Smart Technology is said to be able to repair skin damage exactly where you need it.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Sculptwear

Clinique Sculptwear is one of many product lines offered by Clinique, an international skin care brand that was illounded in 1968. The company created an interesting marketing concept and suggests that using the products in this line is “skin fitness for the face.” Currently, the manufacturer offers three skin care items under this line; the Sculptwear Contouring Massage Cream Mask, the Sculptwear Lift and Contour Serum, and a Sonic System Massaging Treatment Applicator. With the use of these products, the company suggests that the skin can be lifted for an overall tightening effect. Though such claims certainly sound enticing for anyone struggling with aging skin, and words like “fitness” and “sculpt” may evoke the idea of changing the shape of the face, the effects of the products in this line must be considered carefully. After all, going to the gym and targeting a part of the body to change its tone and size are one thing, trying to change the shape of sagging parts of the face by using a topical cream is quite another.

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion

When your skin is feeling lackluster, maybe reaching for the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion is all that’s needed. It’s no secret that skin gets tired. It’s our biggest organ and just like your brain and body can really feel the pinch of fatigue, it also affects the skin. Skin is exposed the elements, whilst other parts of the body are not. This also adds to the dry and dull problems we can face. Whilst you may not notice it, both lifestyle choices and environmental factors can play a huge part in how our skin feels.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Face Wash

Is Clinique Face Wash Right for You? Cleansing your face should be an important part of your skin care routine, and if you’re considering Clinique face wash, there are a few things you need to know before adding these products to your skin care routine. This line of products is manufactured by the skin care company, Clinique, and includes several items, such as the Clinique Oil Control Face Wash for Men, and the Wash-Away Gel Cleanser, to name a few. Though Clinique face wash products are well known around the world, it is still important to do your research. For example, take the time to speak to a dermatologist, learn about the ingredients in the product that interests you, and read Clinique face wash reviews to learn from the experiences of others. By doing your homework first, you’ll be able to confidently decide whether Clinique face wash products are right for you, and may find that another solution is better suited for your skin’s unique needs.

About Clinique Face Wash

Clinique face wash products are available without a prescription and are formulated for everyday use by the average consumer. The manufacturer, Clinique, was founded in 1968, by Dr. Norman Orentreich, a dermatologist. The original idea behind the company’s products was that great skin is not due to genetics, and that it could be created through the use of properly-formulated skin care products.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Exfoliating Scrub Good

Is Clinique Exfoliating Scrub Good for Your Skin? If you’ve been reading Clinique Exfoliating Scrub reviews on the manufacturer’s website, you might think it’s a miracle skin rejuvenating solution. After all, with most of the products showing nearly perfect 5-star reviews, what’s not to like? But at a cost of just $20 for 3.4 ounces, can the products in the Clinique Exfoliating Scrub line truly be as effective as the company claims? If you’re uncertain, remember this; a product’s effectiveness comes down to two things: 1) your individual skin type, and 2) the quality of ingredients included in the formulation. And because better ingredients often cost more, if you’re going to pay relatively little for a product, it generally follows that your skin won’t reap significant benefits from it. Therefore, before you decide whether Clinique scrubs are the best choice for you, spend some time doing thorough research and read unbiased Clinique Exfoliating Scrub reviews on third-party websites, to ensure you’re not wasting your money.

Clinique Exfoliating Scrub Ingredients

The ingredients included in your Clinique Exfoliating Scrub will vary based on which specific product you choose. The Clinique 7 Day Scrub, a product designed for all skin types, contains chemicals like Tridecyl Trimellitate, a skin conditioner and emollient; Cetearyl Alcohol, to help remove excess oil; and Coconut Oil, a moisturizing agent.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique iD Review

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Review

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate is an ultra-light, cushiony water-gel that is said to help eye-area skin replenish its own moisture for a full 96 hours of intense, crease-plumping hydration. It contains “auto-replenishing lipid-sphere technology” with pure aloe butter, which is designed to help rebuild skin’s lipid barrier to minimize moisture loss. This concentrate also contains several types of algae extracts, such as Hypnea musciformis extract, Alteromonas ferment extract, Gelidiella acerosa extract, and Chlorella vulgaris extract. Algae extracts are known to bind water to the skin, thereby increasing the skin’s hydrating and promoting a smoother complexion. There are several more soothing and hydrating ingredients in this product, including glycerin, green tea leaf extract, Aloe leaf water, cucumber fruit extract, sodium hyaluronate, and more.

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate also features encapsulated antioxidants to break the cycle of environmental stress that can lead to premature aging. Antioxidants limit oxidative damage caused by free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. As with most eye products, Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate includes caffeine, a natural stimulant and antioxidant.

INGREDIENTS

Clinique Redness Solutions

Will Clinique Redness Solutions Regimen Help You? The Clinique Redness Solutions Regimen is a skin care system designed to help consumers remove visible patches of redness from their skin. Red, blotchy skin can be caused by many factors, including psoriasis, Rosacea and broken capillaries. Although the Clinique Redness Solutions Regimen claims to remove all types of general redness, the company makes it a point that this skin care kit is formulated largely to focus on redness associated with Rosacea. This skin care system aims to achieve this goal with three products, the Clinique Soothing Cleanser, the Daily Relief Cream, and the Daily Protective SPF 15 sun block. Because Rosacea can be a serious condition that becomes more severe as you age, take the time to speak to your dermatologist before using this set of products, and read Clinique Redness Solutions Regimen reviews from third-party sources.

About Clinique Redness Solutions

The products in this skin care kit are manufactured by Clinique, a skin care product manufacturer founded almost five decades ago. Today, the company sells its products all over the world, and has offices in the U.K., London, and Ireland, among other locations.

Clinique Take the Day Off

What is Clinique Take the Day Off? Clinique Take the Day Off is a line of skin care products by Clinique designed to help remove makeup at the end of the day, even stubborn makeup like waterproof mascara. The Clinique Take the Day Off collection includes four products: Makeup Remover for Lids, for Lids, Lashes, & Lips
The most popular product in the Clinique Take the Day Off line is the Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes, & Lips. This product is said to dissolve and “lift away” long-wearing makeup, even waterproof mascara. It is formulated to be non-irritating and is recommended for all skin types.

Cleansing Balm
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is a lightweight makeup remover that transforms from a solid balm to a silky oil upon application. It is non-greasy, non-drying, and is said to clean the skin thoroughly while also helping skin to look younger.

Micellar Towelettes for Face & Eyes
The Clinique Take the Day Off collection also includes ready-to-go Micellar Towelettes that are saturated with gentle micellar cleansing liquid in order to remove face and eye makeup without the need for water.

Cleansing Oil
The final product in the Clinique Take the Day Off line is the Cleansing Oil, which is said to dissolve all traces of makeup and impurities without leaving any residue behind. The Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil is recommended for all skin types.

What are the key ingredients in Clinique Take the Day Off products?

If you’re looking for a line of natural skin care products, the Clinique Take the Day Off collection is not for you. The key ingredients in all products include synthetic cleansing agents, emollients, and silicones. We’ll discuss a few of these key ingredients below so you’ll know exactly how they affect your skin.

The key ingredient found in the Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover is isohexadecane, a synthetic cleansing agent and emollient. Isohexadecane creates a very creamy, thick formula, yet leaves a non-greasy, light and silky feeling on the skin. The formula also contains high concentrations of several types of silicones, including dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, and trisiloxane. Silicones improve the spreadability of a product and impart a silky, soft skin feel.

The emollient ethylhexyl palmitate is the key ingredient in Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. This is a non-occlusive emollient that provides a silky feel to the skin. The Cleansing Balm also includes a high concentration of safflower seed oil. When you use safflower oil (or any oil) to remove oily makeup and sebum, you’re employing the chemical principle called “like dissolves like.” Basically, oils will dissolve other materials that have a similar chemical structure.

The Clinique Take the Day Off Micellar Towelettes include a high concentration of the emollient isopropyl palmitate and several silicones, which all work together to make these towelettes glide across the skin and leave a very silky feel behind. The towelettes also include methyl glucose sesquistearate, a mild, corn-sugar derived surfactant that helps to cleanse the skin of makeup, dirt, and other impurities.

Key ingredients in the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil include cetyl ethylhexanoate, triethylhexanoin, and PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate. Cetyl ethylhexanoate improves the spreadability of the product and provides a velvety, silky feel to the skin that is non-greasy. Triethylhexanoin functions as an emollient and solvent. PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate is a mild surfactant that is used to create a microemulsion facial cleanser. A microemulsion is a mixture of water, oil, and surfactants that is gentle to the skin and can easily be rinsed off with water, leaving no oily residue.

Where is Clinique Take the Day Off sold?

Clinique Take the Day Off and other Clinique skin care products are sold on the brand’s website, as well as third party online retailers such as Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, and more. Clinique skin care products are also sold at physical retail locations, such as the Clinique counter at department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom.

What is the Clinique return policy?

The Clinique return policy states, “If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase from Clinique Online you may return the unused portion for refund or exchange. We accept returns for products purchased from clinique.com only.”

Is Clinique cruelty free?

Clinique is not cruelty free. Clinique is owned by Estée Lauder, a company that tests on animals. While Estée Lauder does not conduct animal testing on their products or ingredients, they do test on animals when required to do so by law (such as in China).

Clinique Take the Day Off reviews

Clinique Take the Day Off reviews on the brand’s website are mostly positive. The product with the most reviews is the Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover, which has earned an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars after nearly 2,000 customer reviews.

Positive reviews for the Makeup Remover mention that it effectively removes makeup, even mascara, without the need for scrubbing and without tugging on the skin. One very positive review says, “This melts away all the hard to remove eye makeup, waterproof mascara just melts right off without tugging on your eye area! And it does not irritate my sensitive eyes!”

Negative reviews for the Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover are from customers who did not like the oily feel of this product, which some describe as an “oily makeup mess”. For example, one customer shares, “I tried this as a sample and absolutely did not like the feeling of rubbing oil on my face. It really just smeared the makeup around and I didn’t like using it near my eyes. After using it I had to use a ton of face wash to get all the oil off.”

Clinique Take the Day Off reviews for the other products in the collection are very similar to the above, with most customers loving how well these products remove makeup, and others finding the products to be too greasy. Of note, there are quite a few negative reviews for the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm from customers who experienced breakouts after using this product.

What are some alternatives to Clinique Take the Day Off?

Overall, we think the Clinique Take the Day Off collection is a good option for anyone who wants to easily remove makeup without harsh scrubbing. Keep in mind that the ingredients in these products are specifically meant to gently remove makeup, but that’s about it. These ingredients really don’t provide any other skin benefits. That’s why we’d like to recommend a few cleansers that you might want to consider using after removing your makeup with the Clinique Take the Day Off products.

One cleanser we recommend is Formulyst’s Clarifying AHA Cleanser, which is formulated to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin while removing dirt and makeup. It contains glycolic acid, a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). One of the main benefits of glycolic acid is its ability to exfoliate the skin by targeting corneocytes (dead skin cells) in a process called corneocyte desquamation. By enhancing their breakdown and increasing the separation of skin cells, the rate of cell turnover is increased, leading to smoother, more radiant skin. Glycolic acid can also help refine pores, control excess oil, and smooth away any surface-level roughness.

Another cleanser Formulyst offers is the Gentle Foaming Cleanser. This ultra-gentle, anti-aging cleanser removes excess oil, dirt, dead skin cells, and other impurities while balancing and protecting the skin’s natural pH. The formula also contains rosehip seed oil, which provides numerous benefits to the skin. For example, rosehip seed oil is a rich source of beta carotene and all-trans retinoic acid, which both promote regeneration in the outer layers of the skin. This improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. In addition, rosehip seed oil has a high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is known to improve the skin’s barrier function and calm inflammation.

after receiving a defective bottle of daily booster with vitamin c, tried to contact customer service for a week. On hold each time for at least 45 minutes before hanging up, and giving up. Also disappointed to see on line that animal testing is done in China for Clinique. Will be changing to another product.

This did not work for me. It made my skin oily and make me break out.

But I have a friend who kept going on and on about this company Made from Earth and their products, and I tried their Vitamin Enhanced Firming Serum – and WOW!!! I’ve been using it every morning and every night. My skin doesn’t break out or get oily

The first night I used it, I swear my skin was tighter. But I thought maybe it was just my imagination so I held off on writing a review. I’ve used it for a week now and it definitely feels a little tighter!

I have always have to buy oily skin products because my skin is so oily, but I found a product that is for oily skin, and has anti-aging properties I have been using the Made from Earth Skin Correcting Toner and now have smooth, dry and soft skin. The effect is it plumps up wrinkles, making them less obvious. My dermatologist pronounced my skin “glowing!”.

CLINIQUE is the BEST skin care product line on the market. I have had acne prone skin ll my life and Clinique is the ONLY line that does not make me break out. I have been using it for 20 years and everyone thinks I like 15 years younger. Clinique DOES keep you looking young. I use the Turnaround cream it gets rid of dark spots and old skin, the foaming facial cleanser, the sonic cleanser and the moisturizer dramatically different for oily skin.
    Clinique is truly the best.

    Hi

I’m also experiencin the same problem. I purchased Clinique some 3 weeks back and been using it since. Even though it’s been only 3 weeks, my skin has broken out so badly which is unusual for my skin. I’ve been to the Clinique counter and they assured me that it is normal and I should continue using them and I should see the results soon. I’ve decided to use it for another week and if no results I will have to discontinue using them. Please tell me what you are currently using and has it been helpful? When u stopped using Clinique. Did you see a difference in your skin?

I’ve been using Clinique for 15 years and love it. It take take some getting use to and months of redness and such, but after that beautiful skin appeared. It really transformed my skin.
Now, that I’m getting older and starting to see some expression lines appear, I thought I needed to change my whole skincare routine/line. I did and oh my goodness what a mess. I went from expression lines to wrinkles. I’m not sure what happened, so I went to a dermatologist that told me if my skin was different and more mature like others my age, she would suggest something, but Clinique is working great and to go back to it, and I have about 10 more years before needing her skincare lines. That made me feel fantastic! So back to Clinique I went! It took about 2 weeks, but m skin is back and no wrinkles. I love the 3-step process and all about the eyes!

Clinique has always been a little out of my price range. I am a woman in my early 50s and lately my skin has been looking tired, red and blotchy. Nothing I did helped and various skin care products did not help. I came across an ad on Facebook quite by accident on Clinique Skin Care Red Solutions. After some on-line research, I thought I may as well. They have turned out to be THE BEST products I have ever purchased for my skin. The redness has toned right down, practically gone altogether and my face has never looked better. I had one friend recently who told me how young I was looking and another friend who told me I was glowing – all within a week of using the products. Thank you Clinique. I so LOVE your Redness Solutions range.

    Hello!
I have had the exact same problem! After using the Clinique face wash for 10 weeks my face just got worse and worse and I’ve been so embarrassed, I thought it may have been my eating habits but that has not changed in over 10 years!
I am 27 and am experiencing the worst break outs ever. I never had this problem in school.
Can you please tell me what products you are on now and have they worked?
    Thank you

I’ve recently purchased the Clinique 3 step cleansing system from Clinique at Dillards. They told me that my skin type is combination oily 3. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now, and my face is now extra dry. Is this normal because it is winter? Or is it possible that they got my skin type wrong? If so, is there way that I can bring it back to Clinique to exchange it for the right one? Or do I need to buy a whole new set?

Hello, my name is Vanessa. I’ve been using Clinque’s 3 step ance solutions for about four days now. The first day, I started using it wasn’t so bad but after the third day, my face started feeling really dry and the skin directly above my cheeks close to my eyes started peeling as well as, the skin around my mouth. Today, I woke up with four nasty looking scabs on the areas where my skin was peeling. Please Help! Any advice would be more than appreciated.

    Hi Guys,

I am 27 with an acne prone, sensitive combination oily skin, I also use clinique products, the clinique consultant to the Myers I go to needed alter the three step to custom fit my skin per se lol, I never had any problems with pimples when I was in way younger then suddenly at 18 I suffered from very bad acne and I got scarring.
I am not sure if this would help but my daily skin routine starts with the foaming sonic facial soap, clarifying lotion #3 with the silver cap, anti blemish solutions all-over clearing treatment followed by the even better clinical dark spot corrector, these products work wonderfully with my acne medication (Epiduo) at night I would add a dab of the moisture surge gel cream and that leaves my skin supple when I wake up in the morning.

These products last me 5-6 months so really I do get value for my money since you don’t need a lot to apply in your skin at all, I also use the Anti-Blemish Liquid Foundation and that seems to stay on me all day without having to re apply, hope this info helps.

You did not say your age, type of skin, or area you live in – However, I have used Clinique Basic 3 step along with the Exfoliation scrub for over 45 years. I still get people stopping me and asking what I use – My skin Glows (even after menopause) Translucent and looks like it just had a drink of water. Trust me when I say “There is NOTHING” out there in skin products that will give you “Life Long Younger Skin” (Not just skin that looks great – but skin that truly is younger). I use the Mild Bar soap, Clarifying #2, & Dramatic Different Moisture+ (day and night) – 1x a week I use the Exfoliating scrub on a wet skin (this plains the skin) (all products are used from the chest, neck, & face (Don’t put the moisturizer in your T Zone) – The Bar soap gives you clean wonderful skin, the Clarifying gives you the fabulous exfoliation with its Salicylic acid (use with a cotton ball same areas “except” under the eyes) Then on to the drink of water for the skin cells Dramatic Different Moisture+ (it now has Hyalurant ) I only use Clinique Loose powder #2 (simply because my skin is that Fabulous I don’t need foundation). Yes Alllll so very simple – (I work with the Lymph system on a cellular & molecule bases – All of my clients are using Clinique And I know what the skin cells and body will use and won’t use – Also, one last thing – IF you have really oily skin – you only use the moisture in your dry areas – and use the #3 Clarifying – THE REST stays the same – When you go to the Clinique counter they will want to sale you everything under the sun – Tell them NO and only get the items I have outline above – You want Fabulous Young Beautiful skin – then follow what I have given you – HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

I am currently using Estee Lauder face products and the bottles and jars are nearly finished. I so much wanted to try a few Clinique products. Having read so many reviews , not just on here but from other sources, a lot of negative reviews!!!
Although Clinique is a poplular brand I’m having second thoughts on trying a new brand on my face! I was mostly interested in their new serum and face cream.
It;s either this or stick to EL.

The consultant was very friendly & appeared knowledgeable. She asked me a lot of questions & made a recommendation on the info I had provided. I did mention that in the past I had a reaction to the Dermalogica range, to which she reassured me that ALL Clinique products are tested on 100’s of people & even if 1 person has a SLIGHT reaction, they start the process again to determine which ingredient caused the reaction.

I purchased the 3 step system along with their brand new Smart Serum.

1st few weeks – great. My skin felt clean. Still the odd blemish, but nothing unusual.

Week 3-6 – This is where is started to go wrong for me. Breakouts along my jaw line, hair line & cheek bone areas. I approached the Clinique counter with my concerns & was reassured that this is perfectly normal. Persevere & in the coming weeks I will see improvement. My instincts told me to stop using the products, but I went on her advice – after all she is the expert right?

By week 10 even my husband mentioned what a ‘mess’ my skin was. He described it as looking like a chemical burn in certain areas. Charming!

I stopped using the Clinique range a few days ago. Already my skin feels better. It is an absolute mess to what it was prior to using the Clinique range though. I never had flawless skin, but even in my teenage years I never recall having such a bad complexion to what I am currently experiencing. I am almost embarrassed to go out in public.

I’m aware I may be the minority, a lot of people swear by Clinique & to be honest I am disappointed it didn’t work for me.

Fingers crossed my skin clears back to what it was prior, fine lines & all!

Soap & water for me for me for a while..!

First things first, LOVE CLINiQUE ! i never write reviews, never. I do read reviews and I read lots of them. I am 32 and I hadn’t had an all over acne break out since I was probably 14 years old. When I say all over I mean that my entire upper back, my chest, my neck under my chin half way up and every square inch of my face, my whole face in every pore had at the least a small pimple. I have been loosing my mind and for four months I have bought over 500 dollars in acne washes, spot treatments, from the stuff on Wal-Mart shelves to the stuff on Macy’s selves. I learned that in your early 30’s your skin changes due to hormonal changes from my doctor. But was not going to just settle and have acne so terrible that the feeling of washing my face made me sick at my stomach because I could feel every single little bump, People I am not stretching the truth at all. I have purple scars now just from the four month stretch that I am working on repairing now. My search lead me back to Clinique, which I had used in my early 20’s with amazing results for my very oily skin. I research so many products. Just so you know I had been using Este Lauder products exclusively for at least 10 years. I used the ANR every night and the perfectionist. I did like the way my skin felt in the mornings with the ANR. I wanted to tell you that in case you are debating between the two, Now, after the third month of a tourtured face, I was getting very depressed and withdrawn. I ordered me the 3 step for acne, man they were small little bottles, I went to a makeup store and found a gift box of repairwear, uplifting eye cream, uplifting face and neck cream. I on my 3 rd week of the three step and my face was clearing up great, of course it did get a little broken out but I could tell that it was a different break out than what I had been dealing with, I know now that it was because it was first cleaning my pores out so that it could really get to work stopping breakouts from even starting. Give it the two weeks people, it is a small price to pay for beautiful skin from week two on. Now I am on my, hear this, my 4th day of my repairwear set or eyes, face and serum, I took before pictures and let me say that when I prepare to put my makeup on in a few minutes, I am going to go ahead and take one of my after pics. I am AMAZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My skin is baby skin soft. I have two little tiny bumps but they aren’t even red. I can tell that is the last of my pores being cleaned. I can not believe the results. I truly can not. I tried the repairwear to get rid of the purple scaring and for age prevtion measures, I feel that 30 is a great age to start. I would urge you to try this brand. I trust Clinique’s clinical trials and don’t think there are many companies out there that take measures like Clinique does. They are making more and more amazing products to fit any need. I owe them a huge THANK YOU. It has saved my skin and honesly saved my mental state of mind. I hope this review reaches one person who is having doubts and looking for something that makes them feel beautiful again. It helped me, I read reviews and someones review helped me decide. It does cost a little more that drug store brands, but you will spend it anyways having to buy different stuff to cover every need. Try Clinique. They do specials almost everyother day, I only order my products on days they have free samples, that helps me get to try stuff that I might end up LOVING.

Hey! I just wanted to say, I’ve been using the clinique three step treatment plus the small blue bottle of acne solutions clearing gel. And it works for me! If you have a acne problem, use the ACNE TREATMENT lol. It gets rid of oil AND acne. Also, when using the facial wash, I like to use a washcloth to clean my pores once a week and that works.. Hope I helped! But Clinique’s the best guys! You just gotta get the right stuff!

Hi, I have started using the number 4 toner recently as by the end of the day, my face is quite oily and my make up starts sliding off. The number four has helped on the oily front, but instead, I now have really bad blackheads… I have always had a problem with blackheads but I think it’s gotten worse
I have also changed to use the soap bar rather than the liquid soap. Can you help me at all?

Hello! I am an Accredited Clinique Consultant. The first week, it is normal to break out when first using any new treatment. However, after 2 weeks there should be improvement. If not, then you could be in the wrong formula for your skin type. Every consultant at Clinique should “Midday without moisturizer, how does your skin feel? And that’s without treatment.” If dry and tight, #1. If comfy with dryness, #2. If comfy with no dryness, #3. If oily, #4. And that’s via Clinique 3 step system. Hope this helps you ladies.

I have been using the Turnaround Overnight for about a month. Last night I applied the cream to my face and without thinking about it, I wiped the excess over my lips. Today, my lips are swollen and feel severely chapped. The end of my tongue also feels like it has been burned. Will this go away?

Hello everyone, when I was in college, I used Clinique and loved it. Truth is I stopped using it because it wasnt in my college budget, just couldn’t afford it.
I started using products again in May 2014. The 3 facial cleaning steps, foundation, powder, eyeliner, and mascara. The results are Amazing just as they were years ago. I do admit that it’s kind of expensive, but it’s worth it and so am I. The products are fantastic and so is my sales representative Janine 🙂

Clinique products do not thin the skin. Ageing, unfortunately does. As we age natural production of collagen, elastin and melanin ( pigment) slows down. Underlying skin damage too is visible as we age. ( eg. sun exposure/damage)This is the connection to Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. I hope this clears some confusion for you. All Clinique products have an insert ingredient list and also displayed on the outer package.

So, let me make sure I understand. Somo says Clinique is terrible because her skin breaks out when she uses something ELSE? Sorry, I just think her beauty therapist wanted to sell her something more expensive. And then maybe blame the resulting breakout on Clinique…

I have been using Clinique for a few years now. Sometimes I try something different, but I always go back. Even my boyfriend says my skin always looks best when I use Clinique. Sometimes I read about women who get break outs using this stuff, I think that’s because they are using products for the wrong skin type. Once I accidentally used the 3 step system for oily skin, while my skin is normal. When I used those products my skin became greasy and almost exploded.

I will try this toner out! I’ve never really used a toner, but I decided to try Made from Earth’s Correcting Toner in an effort to keep my skin looking young. I really like Made from Earths Toner. Not only is it firmer (and I’m only 36), but it’s clearer and more even – and I’ve only been using it for a week, tops.

    Hi Mark,

I use the mild clarifying lotion for delicate skin as the regular ones make my skin red and irritated. I use the DDML+ as well as the Age Defense for men. My skin is much better and seems to have improved significantly.

    Darby,
Isn’t the Comfort Crème cleanser the best! I just ordered my second one. I love this creamy cleanser. My skin has never felt so good and soft after cleansing. I have some Rosacea and it is so gentle on my skin. I also use the Redness Solutions liquid makeup and it really makes the red in my cheeks disappear on contact! Would highly recommend these two products.

    Ally,

what a traumatic and painful experience… sounds nothing like the experience I have had with Clinique, which is generally pretty positive, just the extra mild facial soap bar and DDML for a few years, occasionally use samples of all about eyes / moisture surge etc. Have used foundations from Clinique in the past with good results, and have had lipsticks, and in recent years, Aromatics Elixir products. I agree with the positive reviews of DDML, for sure, an absolute go-to moisturizer. All the best, cheers

I started using Clinique about 2 months ago. It was okay for about a month then my skin got very dry, red, sore and it started peeling. I also started breaking out frequently. Then one night I was using the 7 day scrub and a huge piece of my skin lifted up off of my nose. It bled like crazy and scabbed over a few days later. I then started putting the Clinique moisturiser on it. Few days later it got very angry looking so I went to the beautician. When I told her I was using Clinique she compared it to paint stripper. The scab was infected and the infection was spreading under my skin towards my eye sockets. Antibiotics were needed and the only thing that could bring my skin back was Yon Ka. Amazing brand. A little pricy but well worth it!

I’ve tried everything, from proactiv to dermatologist recommended pills.. I don’t have horrible acne just a few here and there and my skin is very dry. I hardly wear make up and use recommended creams by my dermatologist as well as eating healthier! Every product I’ve tried for the last 11 years has done nothing for me, personally. I ordered Clinique 3 step system today 1-3-2014. In hopes that I find what ive been looking for, I also have a lot of acne scars, I’m light skinned so I was wondering if you had any recommendations on which Clinique product to try ? I really appreciate it!

I recently started using Cliniquue Dark Spot Corrector and I can see a result. Prior to using this product I has prescription strength retinol but it didn’t do much for my facial spots. Everytime my face peeled (this happened once or twice per week) it looked like the product was about to work but in the end the spots would come straight back. I use Clinique Moisture Surge as the second step and love this product.

I was reluctant to spend hundreds of dollars on skin care products but after using Clinique for almost a year I have noticed all of my acne is just about gone. I was using Proactiv before but it just made everything worse. Clinique are way better products.

    NO.

I used the 3-step system for more than a year and found it really drying for my combination skin. I’ve heard that Clinique products are very harsh on the skin and after experiencing it I would have to agree. The moisturizer is alright but both the cleanser and toner are drying prob due to the really high alcohol content. Also, I noticed most, if not ALL the beauty consultants at Clinique have sun spots on their cheeks! I went to several malls and all of them had the same dark and ginormous sunspots! It scared me I immediately stopped using their stuff eventhough I just replenished my 3-step system back then.

Their All About Eye cream gave me milia seeds (oil seeds) as well when I had none. It does reduce the appearance of dark circles, however I recommend sleeping it off and looking naturally fresh instead of depending on the eye cream because the milia seeds are simply not worth it.

Also. (I thought I’d stop at the 3-step system)
The Super City Block is super oily and makes the face really heavy. I noticed it also enlarges the pores during usage. There are plenty of cheaper alternatives that work better.

Clinique products are backed by the wonderful team at Estee Lauder. The only difference is they do not contain fragrance and are more suitable for sensitive skin types. : Clinique RepairWear Laser Focus is quite a powerful product in the range and I did notice a result but their moisturizers are also very good. I think most girls in the US have tried at least 1 or 2 Clinique products.

I was actually doing a facial the other day and when I told my specialist that I’d started using Clinique, she actually hissed, and then went on explaining that the only thing Clinique really did was make my skin more sensitive. So if I ever used any other brand, I would immediately have break-outs. Which I did, and I’m not lying when I say that my entire face looks like a star constellation; and not in a pretty way.
I can most certainly say that Clinique’s Anti-Blemish ruined my face.

I am using Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus and Clinique Repairwear Uplifting Serum. I like Clinique products as they are clinical but what I hate is when they make these products you get hooked on and them replacing them with something that doesn’t work as well a few years later. I don’t know how that works from a business sense but I imagine most people would be annoyed and switch brands.

I have been using Clinique moizturizer lotion since I was 17 and this is the first time I have written a review about the results I have seen. I started with the three piece kit system but I prefer the lotion over the toner so I stick with buying individual skin care products. The yellow moisturizer is the best moisturizer I have ever found. It works very well. It is called dramatically different. I want to try the repair wear but I do not have signs of aging yet and hopefully I wont for a while. I buy my products from Nordstrom but considering buying online from Sephora because they offer free delivery.

I am not sure of what term term effects to expect from skin care but I like using it as my night time moisturizer the Repairwear Laser Focus moisturizing cream. This product is great for winkles and superficial aging. Clinique products are loved by my skin and I can see the difference each morning in the mirror.

Hi, I REALLY love Cliniques Supercity Block Sheer SPF 25. I have been using it since I was 17 (and alternate with another moisturising SPF product from another brand) I especially use it every time I wear makeup during the day. It not only has a lightweight feel that’s comfortable for most sensitive skin types except very dry but it can be used over antioxidant-laden moisturisers or serums or if you’re excessively oily, alone. It is opthamologist-tested so it’s safer to use around the eye contour area (again test its ok first, as allergies are individual) which seems to show lines faster than anywhere else.It also contains not only sun protection but most importantly it is paired with antioxidants as well which will help neutralize some of the free radical damage generated but sun exposure/environmental aggressors. It also helps to absorb some excess oil for a couple of hours so my makeup seems to stay on longer without excessive shine.

I have tried the MILD clarifying lotion which is alcohol free and also still gently exfoliates whilst aiding your skin with anti-irritants, it also has a perfect PH balance to aid gentle exfoliation using salicylic acid which is probably better for drier or more sensitive skins but can be used for all skin types. It also is Alcohol-free, another bonus. It leaves my skin feeling comfortable, never taut or dry.

  • Sophia Original review: Jul 17, 2013. Reply

    Hi Mark,

Generally sticking to the mildest yet effective cleansing and toning products in their range is best.
Also I recommend that after shaving avoid the use of any exfoliating products (as their toner is also quite astringent) and just simply use a post shave balm or healer and if you’re going to get sun exposure, appropriate Sun protection product. Shaving already exfoliates the skin you’ve shaved and so may be prone to more sensitivity and irritation.

  • Sophia Original review: Jul 17, 2013. Reply

Also it is not generally recommended to use an exfoliating scrub on active pimples as it can irritate them further.

  • Sophia Original review: Jul 17, 2013. Reply

    Hi Adrienne,

I don’t know if a Clinique consultant told you this when you purchased the Acne Solutions Cleanser but it’s designed only to clean your skin when its free of makeup, I was recommended to use either a good makeup wipe or makeup remover before hand. If you’re oily I recommend trying their Rinse Off Foaming cleanser beforehand or if you’re normal to dry their Take the Day off Cleansing Balm which is actually oil-free IF you want to stick with the brand. hope this Helps you.

I just tried the new Clinqiue Repairwear Uplifting Firming Cream with SPF and this seems to work. It helps tighten the skin a little so it looks like you have less fine lines and just tighter altogether. I love Clinique products and have also been using their 3 piece system for 19 years and I havent gone a day without it. I prefer using a clinical brand instead of something that contains too many fragrances.

I wanted to write this review on Clinique becuse I started using Clinique Acne solutions because I suffer from Acne and didnt get anywhere with Proactiv, the products seem to work much better. The only problem I have is that the cleanser does not seem to remove make up and leaves the skin feeling to oily afterwards. The lotion is much better and seems to work well for my skin type. I want to try their bb cream or tinted moisturizer later on. I also wanted to try the Clinique dark spot an exfoliating scrub cream for acne scars?

I have dry skin and also suffer from wrinkles. I also hormonal breakout problem mid cycle. I’ve used Clinique Acne Solutions but it did little for my breakouts. I want to know what ingredients they contain in their products to see if it is good value or bad value. I would also like to try other Clinique lotions and creams but I want to see more reviews first.

I am now using Clinique Even Better, Dark Spot Corrector, All About Eyes and RepairWear and will let you know how I go.
