09.28.18AD DISCLOSURE

The 3Lab skin care company has received quite a bit of attention over the last few years, and has even been featured in magazines like Allure, Lucky and Vanity Fair. Founded in 2003 by David and Erica Chung, this brand has grown quite a bit, and now sells its products in several countries, including Hong Kong, Germany, and Canada. To help consumers achieve healthy skin, 3Lab offers a comprehensive skin care line that includes face moisturizers, cleansers, sun screens, anti aging product, and even formulations based on ginseng. However, because some of the products in this line can be a bit expensive, the consumer is advised to carefully research these items before purchase. Obtaining samples from discovery shopping websites, reading 3Lab reviews, and working with a skin expert can go a long way in preventing waste in your skin care budget, and more importantly, inadvertent side effects.

About 3Lab

3Lab was founded by David and Erica Chung in New Jersey. David emigrated from Korea as a child, in the 1970s. Growing up, he worked in his mother’s local store, in New York City. It’s during this time that he was first exposed to selling skin care products, an experience that is believed to have helped form his interest in skin care and merchandising.

Eventually, he married his wife Erica and together they founded 3Lab, a skin care company that prides itself on a scientific approach to formulations. According to the company, a lot of the skin care formulations are developed in its own labs, with a high focus on quality ingredients and scientific proof of efficacy.

The company’s official slogan is “Beauty + Science = 3Lab.” It is important to note that only two items are being added in this equation, so we’re not 100% sure why the “3” in 3Lab. However, we think that perhaps the goal here was to step above simple arithmetic and maybe suggest that the merging of these two concepts provides a result that’s greater than the sum of its parts, a la 1+1=3.

3Lab Products

The company offers many skin care products that can be used for a variety of skin types. In this way, 3Lab can be an effective brand for building a full skin care kit, because the consumer will likely find products for most skin care concerns.

One of the items offered by 3Lab is the Super H Serum. The “H” refers to Sodium Hyaluronate, which is a version of hyaluronic acid. This acid is highly effective for moisturizing the skin, because it can attract and hold many times its weight in moisture, thus hydrating the skin and plumping it up to reduce wrinkles.

Another 3Lab product is the Perfect Neck Cream. This cream is formulated with ingredients like Nano-Claire GY, which is a bio-engineered growth hormone that may be able to stimulate the growth of healthy skin; Ovaliss, to reduce the appearance of submental fat; and Lumiskin, a proprietary chemical blend that is meant to reduce production of melanin and the associated dark spots on the skin.

One of the most expensive creams in the 3Lab line is the WW Cream, at a price of $465 for just two ounces. Needless to say, the high price tag means this cream is meant for a very small segment of the population. However, 3Lab claims the WW cream can achieve wonders for the skin that are in line with the effects you may see from professional skin care treatments.

Some of the ingredients in the WW Cream include Phytocell Tec, which is a compound based on stem cells of rare Swiss apples; peptides, to promote growth of collagen and the associated reduction of wrinkles; and Lumiskin, to reduce hyperpigmentation.

Lastly, there are several BB creams included in this line. The 3Lab Aqua BB comes in a clamshell container, and is applied to the skin with a special sponge. The other is the Perfect BB cream, which comes in a tube and can be easily applied in the morning, as part of a daily skin care routine.

3Lab Reviews

The reviews for 3Lab products will inevitably vary quite a bit, depending on the specific item being considered. For example, although a large portion of the reviews are quite positive, some consumers have complained that the effects are not worth the price. Such reviews will undoubtedly be affected by the economic capabilities of the consumer – with those on a tighter budget expecting a lot more from the products.

Further, it’s important to keep in mind that the high price of many products in this line means that there are less 3Lab reviews online than for cheaper brands. Thus, the consumer may find it difficult to find meaningful feedback from consumers with similar skin type.

Where to Buy 3Lab Products

The products in the 3Lab line can be obtained through the company website, and retailers like Barneys New York and Nordstrom, and a variety of online retail platforms.

3lab M Cream Review

Stem cells are one of the new frontiers in anti-aging skincare formulations, and there have been a number of brands that have jumped on the opportunity to add them to their age prevention products including brands like 3Lab. According to the brand, the M Cream from 3Lab was the first cosmetic product to contain stem cells from Swiss apples. This technology, along with a bio-engineered Renewal Complex work to de-stress the skin and go to work encouraging essential skin processes like collagen and elastin production in the skin. As we age, these essential processes begin to slow down, which can work against us, making our skin appear older, duller and more tired, with noticeable fine lines and wrinkles. Ingredients like stem cells, peptides and other ingredients work to counteract this slow down so that you’re skin appears more youthful, luminous and healthy overall. Because of this, we’d recommend this type of product, and stem cells based products in general, for those of you who are looking for gentle, long term anti-aging products that help to encourage more youthful behavior.

3Lab Anti-Aging Cream Review

The 3Lab Anti-Aging Cream is a water-based moisturizer that aims to target some of the primary signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles, as well as dehydration. According to the brand, proper moisturization can plump the skin and decrease the appearance of aging. But how exactly does that work? This product contains the 3Lab Marine Repair complex uses a variety of marine-based ingredients to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin. In addition to this complex, there are a number of emollients and occlusives in this formula including shea butter, mango seed butter, squalane and jojoba oil. These natural plant oils and butters help to soften the skin while also giving a nice, subtle glow to the skin. All of these ingredients create a very rich formula, which makes this an excellent option for those with dry or extremely dry skin types that have difficulty finding products that adequately moisturize their skin.

3Lab BB Cream

3Lab BB Cream With blemish balm creams becoming all the rage over the last decades, more consumers are considering products like the 3Lab BB Cream. These creams (there are currently two of them under the 3Lab brand) are designed to achieve several things at once for the consumer – including moisturizing the skin, providing blemish coverage, and delivering UV protection. But is the 3Lab BB Cream the best option for you? The best way to answer this question is to consider the specific skin issues you are struggling with, and then assess whether the ingredients in the cream may be helpful. Of course, it’s also important to consider 3Lab BB Cream reviews and to speak with a dermatologist who will have much deeper insight into your skin concerns. To help you with your research, we’re including some of the key information about 3Lab BB Cream, below.

How 3Lab BB Cream Works

Those familiar with Asian skin care will probably have heard a little more about BB creams and how they work. The original intent behind products like 3Lab BB Cream was to shorten a woman’s daily skin care routine by effectively combining several skin care products in one.

3Lab Super H Serum for Aging Skin

If you like apples in your skin care, you may have heard about 3Lab Super H Serum. This anti aging skin serum is manufactured by 3Lab, the same company that was once touted by the First Lady, Michelle Obama, as her preferred brand of skin care products. Although we weren’t able to confirm if the First Lady specifically uses 3Lab Super H Serum, it’s certainly enticing to think that you could be using the same skin care brand as one of the most influential women in the United States. But just because a skin care line is used by someone famous, that doesn’t automatically mean the brand is right for you. The biggest determinant of whether a product is the right choice in your situation is whether it has the best ingredients for your unique needs, and whether you can actually afford this item (more on this later). Therefore, before shelling out $240 for just one ounce of this serum, it’s vital for any consumer to read relevant 3Lab Super H Serum reviews and thoroughly research the ingredients.
