Is Neora Skincare Worth the Money?

What is Neora?

Before looking into Neora, it’s important to take a step back and look at its roots. Nerium International launched in 2011 with just one product, Nerium Age-Defying Night Cream. The product’s key ingredient is oleandrin, which is derived from the oleander plant. Oleander grows wild in California, Texas and Florida and is also sold as a houseplant. It is a highly poisonous plant but oleander has been used medicinally since ancient times. For the skin, oleander extract is thought to help reduce the signs of aging and is believed to be an antioxidant.

According to an article in Direct Selling News, there are a few reasons why Nerium rebranded itself as Neora but it comes down to product growth. Neora Founder and CEO Jeff Olson along with other company leaders told the press that it was time to reboot the company. In recent interviews, the Nerium executives explained that their skincare brand had expanded and the majority of their products no longer contained their namesake oleandrin. The company had also expanded into wellness which was not reflected in the Nerium name. “We not only survived as a startup, but we thrived,” Olson said to Direct Selling News. “But we felt like it was time to hit the reset button. We’re going to leverage everything we have learned in the previous seven years and retool ourselves.”

Or as Neora Chief Leadership Officer Renee Olson explained to the press, “What’s so exciting about the new name, Neora, is that it means a new era, so, it’s perfectly symbolic for us.”

In interviews, Neora executives explain that they view the new venture as being an anti-aging company whose products include skincare as well as supplements. The company also plans to focus on international markets.

Neora products are available for purchase on the company website and through its network of distributors. A few of the products are available on Amazon but are still under the Nerium brand (the logo has remained the same).

How Much Are Neora Products?

Neora products are priced in line with prestige brands. The six piece Advanced Skincare Kit is $250, while the Age IQ Night and Day combo is $187 for a one time purchase, or $140 with automatic delivery. The Acne & Cleanser Combo is $99 or $74 with automatic delivery. The IllumaBoost Brightening & Shield sells for $80, or $60 with a monthly delivery.

Do Neora Products Work?

One person’s miracle product may do nothing for someone else, or may cause irritation. When evaluating whether Neora products are right for you, it can be helpful to see what other customers have to say about it. But Neora reviews are limited as the rebranded company is relatively new but many of its products are identical to the ones sold under the Nerium brand. Assuming the formulations are unchanged, we’ll look at customer feedback of Nerium products on Amazon, although for the most part the products have less than 20 reviews.

One exception is the Nerium Age Defying Eye Serum, which has 205 reviews and a 3.5 star rating. Forty-four percent of customers give it a 5 star rating, while 28% give it one star. Those who love it say, “2 words Tha Bomb! This stuff gets every puff out without burning your eyes like a lot of products” and “I’ve tried a lot of different products of this type, and this one works the best!”

The Nerium Age IQ Day & Night Cream Combo gets a 3 star rating from five customer reviews. Forty percent gave it five stars while an additional forty percent gave it one star. Fans say, “I love this cream. You won’t see results for at least 4 weeks. Always remember everybody’s skin is different. It is the best ever” to “Product hasn’t worked for me.”

The EYE-V Moisture Boost Hydrogel Patches gets a 3.7 star rating from nine customer reviews. Those who loved it said “I love this product. It is amazing, and really works. Try it if you have any concerns about the under eye area.” Customers who gave it low stars said it didn’t work for them. “I didn’t see the results other reviewers saw. I have dryness, and no dark circles or puffiness. I saw some hydration improvement immediately, but that faded within a few hours; not enough to justify the cost per treatment.”

A few of the company’s wellness products also have Amazon reviews. The Nerium Youth Factor Complete Vitality Complex gets 5 stars from four reviews. Positive feedback includes “Originally came with several Nerium items. Seems to help with appetite control.”
