While the marketing sounds promising, we’ll have to take an in-depth look at the product formulations in order to determine whether or not the LifeCell products live up to their claims. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do in this review!

Keep reading to learn more about the formulation details, including the key ingredients in LifeCell Skin products and the research that supports (or doesn’t support) their use in skincare.

What Are The Top 5 Best LifeCell Skin Products?

LifeCell Skin offers a line of anti-aging products for your face, eyes, and body. Below we’ll give you a breakdown of the top 5 best LifeCell Skincare Products.

LifeCell All-In-One Skin-Tightening Treatment

One of the brand’s most popular products is this lightweight, hydrating, all-in-one anti-aging treatment aimed at reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This product is enriched with some of the most highly regarded anti-aging compounds available, including DMAE, retinol, and vitamin C.

DMAE is an analog of the B vitamin choline and is a precursor of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. DMAE works by helping the underlying facial muscles to contract, thus tightening the skin and increasing skin firmness, according to an article published in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology.

Both retinol and vitamin C are superstars in the world of skincare. We’ll give you all the details on these ingredients below.

ALTERNATIVES: We recommend Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum as it contains seven plant-based neuropeptides to promote a youthful appearance.

LifeCell Cooling Under-Eye Treatment

Using the cool metal tip to apply this under-eye treatment should help to instantly reduce puffiness, making it a great addition to your morning skincare routine. There’s high concentrations of skin-softening emollients in this formula, such as shea butter, and skin-soothing ingredients, such as oat kernel extract.

One key ingredient that should reduce signs of aging around the eyes is called Eyeliss. It’s a peptide complex that helps with puffiness and wrinkles over time.

The rest of the formula contains similar ingredients as the All-In-One Tightening Treatment, including DMAE, retinol, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid.

ALTERNATIVES:  If you are concerned about aging around the eyes including bags, one product we recommend is Carrot & Stick The Eye Cream.

LifeCell Neck Firming Serum

The star ingredient in the LifeCell Neck Firming Serum is actually one you might find in your refrigerator: shiitake mushroom. This mushroom extract contains a rich source of kojic acid, and is known to help prevent cell breakdown, reduce inflammation, and encourage faster skin renewal.

Another unique ingredient in this neck serum is Fermiskin. Its rich composition of oligosaccharides and galacturonic acids protects the extracellular matrix from enzymatic lysis thanks to its anti-metalloproteinase activity. To put that in simpler terms, Fermiskin should help to improve skin firmness and tone.

LifeCell pH Balanced Cleanser

LifeCell’s pH Balanced Anti-Aging Cleanser is formulated to purify your skin by removing makeup and impurities without depriving it of its natural oils. This cleanser preserves the skin’s innate pH balance and is gentle enough for both morning and evening use.

The brand claims that this cleanser will impart anti-aging benefits, but we noticed the formula doesn’t contain ingredients that will provide these benefits. There’s soothing plant extracts, such as green tea, cucumber, and chamomile, but the formula lacks ingredients that will combat signs of aging.

LifeCell Firming Body Butter

With an ultra-creamy whipped texture, this body butter instantly helps to smooth and hydrate skin without feeling greasy. Plus, the key ingredients caffeine and ginseng work together to reduce the appearance of cellulite and imperfections, while promoting firmer skin.

Companies frequently use caffeine for skin tightening in anti-cellulite products because it prevents excessive accumulation of fat in cells. According to a publication in the journal Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, caffeine stimulates the degradation of fats during lipolysis through inhibition of the phosphodiesterase activity.

Furthermore, dermatologist Julie Russak, M.D., explains to Women’s Health, “Caffeine dehydrates the fat cells and stimulates circulation, therefore making the skin appear tighter and smoother, says Russak. However, she notes that these effects are temporary and shouldn’t be relied on as long-term solutions.

Ginseng is included in this body butter because of this root’s ability to stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein found within skin that is responsible for maintaining strength and firmness. Thus, ginseng’s ability to boost collagen production can give the skin a more youthful appearance.

What Are The Key Ingredients in LifeCell Skin Products?

As you probably noticed in the last section, there’s not just one key ingredient that’s used in LifeCell Skin products, but rather a wide array of evidence-based ingredients such as:

  • DMAE
  • Vitamin C
  • Retinol
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Caffeine

Vitamin C and retinol are two of the best ingredients you can use in your skincare routine. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.

Vitamin C also helps fade dark spots, evens out skin tone, and increases radiance. As if that wasn’t enough, research suggests that when vitamin C is applied to the skin, it significantly reverses aging-related structural changes by influencing collagen and elastin synthesis.

It’s in LifeCell All-In-One Skin-Tightening Treatment.

But our favorite Vitamin C serum is Carrot & Stick The Defence Serum. It contains 3 distinct types of Vitamin C that work together to help fight free radical damage. We recommend using it every morning.

Retinol is the go-to anti-aging ingredient recommended by dermatologists and skin experts. It’s clinically proven to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.

The only downside? Retinol can often lead to side effects like skin dryness, peeling, and irritation. That’s why we recommend this retinoid oil serum. It contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, an ingredient that provides similar benefits with less irritation.

The brand combines these tried-and-true ingredients with soothing plant extracts, such as green tea, cucumber, shea butter, ginseng, and many more. There’s also cutting edge ingredients used in the LifeCell Skin products, such as Eyeliss and Fermiskin.

How Much Do LifeCell Skin Products Cost?

LifeCell Skin products are on the pricey side — the All-In-One Skin-Tightening Treatment costs $189 USD for 2.54 oz, while the Cooling Under-Eye Treatment costs $138 USD for just 0.67 fl oz.

Where to Buy LifeCell Skin Products?

LifeCell Skincare Products are sold on the brand’s website, as well as on Amazon.com.

What is The LifeCell Skin Return Policy?

LifeCell offers a 30 day money back guarantee. The policy states, “We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. We stand by the quality of our products. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, contact us within 30 days and we will promptly issue a refund to your credit card.”

Is LifeCell Skin Cruelty Free?

LifeCell skincare products are certified 100% cruelty-free by PETA.

Our Verdict

Overall, we think there are some positives for LifeCell Skin products, but overall we don’t think they’re worth the money.

Pros

  • Formulas contain beneficial ingredients (retinol, vitamin C, shea butter, etc.)
  • Many positive LifeCell Skin reviews
  • Cruelty free

Cons

  • Expensive

What Are Some Alternatives to LifeCell Skin Products?

If you’re looking for skincare products to address the signs of aging, we recommend Carrot & Stick. Carrot & Stick maximizes the use of powerful ingredients and minimizes the use of superficial ones, resulting in advanced skincare solutions that help promote healthy, more youthful-looking skin.
