Founded by Baylee and Ryan Relf, Dime Beauty is a clean beauty brand offering skin care and makeup products that take into consideration how the skin changes through each phase of life — from teens to 65+.
In this review, we’ll discuss the top 10 best Dime Beauty skincare products through a scientific lens. That means we’ll dive into the research that supports (or doesn’t support) the ingredients used in these products.
We’ll also share some Dime Beauty reviews so that you can get an idea of what customers really think of these products.
Dime Beauty Skincare Products?
Dime Beauty offers everything you need to create a complete skincare routine, from cleansers to toners to serums and more. Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 best Dime Beauty skincare products.
Dime Beauty Eyelash Serum
The brand’s most popular product is the Dime Eyelash Serum, a serum that can be used daily to improve length, density, quantity, and strength of lashes as well as overall follicle health.
Amino acids are used in Dime Eyelash Serum, but what’s confusing is that the brand doesn’t list the specific amino acids that are used in the formula. There are 20 different amino acids that make up proteins in the human body, so it would be nice to know which amino acids are used in Dime Eyelash Serum.
For instance, keratin is a protein found in the skin, nails, and hair (including eyelashes), and keratin is particularly rich in the amino acid cysteine. But is cysteine used in Dime Eyelash Serum? We think it should be, but it’s unclear since the brand doesn’t disclose which amino acids are used in the formula.
There’s also two peptides in Dime Eyelash Serum — Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 and myristoyl pentapeptide-4. However, both of these ingredients have very little research proving their benefits for eyelashes.
Despite the lack of substantial research, Dime Beauty reviews indicate that the Eyelash Serum really does help to promote longer, thicker lashes.
Bottom Line: Dime Beauty Eyelash Serum includes amino acids and peptides to promote longer, thicker, healthier eyelashes.
Dime Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Dime Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum includes just one key ingredient: sodium hyaluronate, the salt form of hyaluronic acid.
Sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid are basically the same and the two names are used interchangeably in the skin care industry. The main differences are that sodium hyaluronate is more stable, easier to formulate, and cheaper. That’s why it is common to see sodium hyaluronate on an ingredient list even though the product name might say hyaluronic acid.
Once applied to the skin, sodium hyaluronate provides the same benefits of hyaluronic acid. Those benefits include improved skin hydration, as well as a more plump complexion with fewer lines and wrinkles.
This serum is great to add extra hydration for all skin types, although if you have dry skin you may want to follow with a thicker moisturizer to help lock in moisture.
Bottom Line: This is a hydrating serum that helps to draw moisture into the skin thanks to sodium hyaluronate.
Dime Beauty Gentle Jelly Cleanser
This cleanser uses a combination of two natural surfactants — decyl glucoside and coco-glucoside — to remove dirt, excess oil, and makeup without stripping skin.
There’s also strawberry oil and lycopene in this formula, but both ingredients are present in low concentrations (less than 1%). The brand claims that these ingredients will help defend skin against free radical damage. While this is true, keep in mind that this is a rinse-off product. You’re better off looking for antioxidant serums and moisturizers to protect your skin.
Bottom Line: A basic cleanser that uses surfactants to remove dirt, excess oil, and makeup without stripping skin.
Dime Beauty Luminosity Eye Serum
With Dime Beauty Luminosity Eye Serum, you can make your eyes look bigger and brighter to achieve a healthy glow without looking like you’re wearing too much makeup. That’s because the formula includes skin-brightening ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C, along with caffeine to help reduce the appearance of undereye dark circles.
The formula also includes squalane, a highly effective emollient and natural antioxidant. As a natural emollient, it locks moisture into your skin, helps prevent fine lines, and eases dry patches. Over time, using squalane can reduce wrinkles, eliminate scars, reverse UV damage, and erase skin pigmentation, all while fighting free radicals.
Plus, there’s also anti-aging peptides in this eye serum, one being acetyl hexapeptide-8. Also known as Argireline, acetyl hexapeptide-8 is a six amino acid peptide that is a fragment of SNAP-25 (a substrate of botulinum toxin). It works by limiting the ability of neurotransmitters to activate movement in your facial muscles, thereby reducing lines and wrinkles.
Bottom Line: An anti-aging eye serum that includes antioxidants and peptides to brighten and firm the skin around the eyes.
Dime Beauty Blue Facial Oil
It can be tough to find a decent face oil. Some face oils are just way too greasy and seem to just sit on top of your skin without ever being absorbed. Others contain fragrance and nasty chemicals that can lead to redness and sensitivity.
But we may have found a winner with Dime Beauty’s Blue Facial Oil. The fragrance-free formula is made with 100% naturally pressed oils, which allowed the brand to make the product without any preservation systems. Plus, the formula absorbs quickly and doesn’t clog pores, making this face oil a good choice for all skin types — yes, even those with acne-prone skin!
While the formula contains a blend of beneficial oils, one we wanted to discuss is blue tansy oil. Blue tansy oil not only gives this oil its beautiful aqua hue, it also includes active components like chamazulene and a-bisabolol, which are known for their anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and antimicrobial properties. These properties make this oil effective for treating a plethora of conditions, including eczema, dry skin, sun damage, redness, irritation, and more.
Bottom Line: A fast-absorbing face oil that hydrates without feeling greasy while also soothing skin and reducing inflammation.
Dime Beauty Hyper Glow Serum
Protecting your skin from pollutants and environmental free radicals is becoming increasingly important in order to prevent premature skin aging. Since it’s not possible to avoid all the pollutants in the world today, using an antioxidant serum is one way to ramp up your skin’s defenses.
Dime Beauty Hyper Glow Serum contains a potent dose of 20% L-ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) along with antioxidants vitamin E, resveratrol, and ferulic acid. There’s also moisture-magnets like aloe vera and hyaluronic acid in this formula.
The result? An antioxidant serum that not only protects against environmental damage caused by free radicals, but also improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, hydrates and plumps, and brightens the complexion.
One word comes to mind to describe Dime Beauty Hyper Glow Serum: multitasking!
Bottom Line: An antioxidant serum that combines 20% pure vitamin C along with vitamin E, resveratrol, and ferulic acid in order to protect, hydrate, plump, and brighten skin.
Dime Beauty Whipped Exfoliating Mask
You’ve likely heard over and over again that exfoliating is the key to clear, glowing skin, but it can be confusing to figure out what type of product to add into your routine. Should you break out that old walnut shell facial scrub that’s hidden in the back of your bathroom cabinet or try an at-home chemical peel?
In our opinion, both physical and chemical exfoliants offer benefits, and we love that Dime Beauty Whipped Exfoliating Mask combines both into one product.
This mask includes three sizes of cellulose beads for a 3 phase physical exfoliation. Large beads break up the stubborn dirt and skin cell build-up while the smaller beads polish and smooth the skin.
The brand ensures that the beads are perfectly spherical so that they won’t cut or damage the skin (many natural exfoliators use seeds or other uneven-shaped bits that often are sharp and capable of damaging the skin).
Plus, the formula includes the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) lactic acid, and the beta hydroxy acid (BHA) salicylic acid. Both of these are chemical exfoliants that help exfoliate by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion
Bottom Line: Dime Beauty Whipped Exfoliating Mask combines physical and chemical exfoliants for a product that gently exfoliates surface layers of dead skin cells, thereby revealing the healthier, brighter skin underneath.
Dime Beauty TBT Serum
Dime Beauty TBT Serum is a multi-tasking serum that delivers weightless hydration while also brightening and firming skin. A high concentration of hyaluronic acid is the key to retaining moisture and keeping your skin plump, while green tea extract protects against free radicals.
The serum also exfoliates with mandelic acid, a type of AHA that removes layers of dead skin cells and debris through a reaction with the skin (rather than exfoliating via abrasive scrubs). By dissolving skin cells, mandelic acid works to increase cell turnover, reducing the look of skin damage or acne while simultaneously brightening your complexion.
And we love that the formula contains a decent amount of niacinamide, which is one of the best skincare ingredients, in our opinion. And there’s research to back it up. For example, a publication in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, states that niacinamide can repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. Pretty impressive, right?
Bottom Line: Dime Beauty TBT Serum is a multi-tasking serum with superstar ingredients like hyaluronic acid, mandelic acid, and niacinamide to hydrate, brighten, and firm skin.
Dime Beauty Super Skin Toner
Like many toners, Dime Beauty Super Skin Toner includes a high concentration of witch hazel, a plant extract that’s been used for centuries to treat many ailments.
Witch hazel is a source of several antioxidants including tannins, which give it its astringent properties in order to temporarily degrease, tighten, and tone your skin. However, it should be noted that tannins can cause irritation and sensitization reactions with some people.
The rest of the toner includes hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, as well as skin-soothing botanicals like chamomile and cucumber.
Bottom Line: Witch hazel is combined with hyaluronic acid and botanical extracts to create a toner that reduces excess oil, hydrates, soothes, and tones skin.
Dime Beauty Power Patch
A set of hydrocolloid blemish patches that gently absorb and trap the “gunk” inside a pimple while simultaneously delivering acne-fighting ingredients like vitamin A, clove oil, and salicylic acid.
If you’ve never heard of hydrocolloid acne patches, they help heal blemishes just like how hydrocolloid dressings help heal wounds: the active surface of the hydrocolloid dressing is coated with a gelling agent, such as pectin or gelatin. The gelling agent creates a moist environment for the wound to heal while also drawing out the pus and fluid inside the wounds and suspending them on the bandage.
Similarly, a hydrocolloid acne patch speeds healing of blemishes by absorbing pus and oil from the inflamed spot while simultaneously maintaining moisture.
In addition, Dime Beauty Power Patch helps reduce inflammation, protects the area from contamination by microorganisms, and minimizes scar formation. Not to mention that these patches prevent you from picking or popping a zit!
Bottom Line: Hydrocolloid acne patches that gently absorb and trap the “gunk” inside a pimple while simultaneously delivering acne-fighting ingredients like vitamin A, clove oil, and salicylic acid.
