Arey Grey Reviews: A Review of The Best Arey Grey Hair Care Products

SKIN CARE REVIEWS

01.31.24DISCLAIMER

Branded as the “Wrinkle Cream of Hair Care”, Arey Grey offers a range of topical products and supplements specifically formulated for individuals experiencing the onset of gray hair.

The brand explains that Arey Grey products are different from others on the market thanks to their patent-pending, science-backed combination of antioxidants and a clinically-efficacious peptide to slow and re-pigment grey hair while also delivering thicker, fuller, healthier hair.

So does Arey Grey work? We’ll answer this question below as we discuss the brand’s best products and key ingredients in the formulas.

We’ll also share Arey Grey reviews from real customers so that you can get their take on how well these products work.

What Are The Best Arey Grey Hair Care Products?

Arey Grey offers a dietary supplement along with topical hair care products, such as shampoos, conditioners, serums, and more. Here’s our breakdown of the best Arey Grey Hair Care products:

Not Today, Grey

Not Today, Grey is a daily supplement that delivers vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to assure the optimal environment to slow and even re-pigment grey hair while also helping grow thicker, fuller hair.

The supplement includes several vitamins and minerals that we’d expect to see in a hair growth supplement, such as B vitamins (including biotin), selenium, and copper.

There’s also a proprietary blend that includes PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid), black sesame seed extract, and fo-ti root.

According to a publication in the International Journal of Trichology, there have been anecdotal reports of temporary hair darkening with PABA. For example, one study administered 200 mg PABA to 30 patients for 2 months and repigmentation was seen in all subjects.

However, keep in mind that the publication mentioned that this was temporary hair darkening. Plus, we don’t know if the dose of PABA used in this Arey Grey supplement is adequate since it’s part of a proprietary blend.

To The Root Serum

This topical serum is formulated to reduce the signs of aging hair while promoting healthier, fuller hair thanks to the brand’s patent-pending blend of ingredients called Mela-9 (we’ll give you all the details on Mela-9 in the Key Ingredients section below).

The formula also includes antioxidants like Fo-Ti and sesame seed to help reduce oxidative stress in the hair bulb.

Fo-ti, also known as Chinese climbing knotweed, is used by traditional chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners to help restore the color of graying hair and combat premature aging.

Black sesame extract contains compounds that could potentially stimulate melanocytes, aiding in the repigmentation of hair.

Wait A Sec Dry Shampoo

‘Wait A Sec’ isn’t your typical dry shampoo. Yes, it absorbs excess oil and adds volume, but it also includes ingredients that preserve and stimulate pigment.

The non-aerosol powder dry shampoo contains dehydrated antioxidants and a clinically efficacious peptide to support hair pigment and growth.

Plus, mica adds a subtle tint that blends well with all hair colors and adds vibrancy, while silica strengthens and adds fullness to the hair strand.

What Are The Key Ingredients in Arey Grey Hair Care Products?

The key ingredient that’s used throughout the line of Arey Grey products is Mela-9, the brand’s patent-pending blend of antioxidants, extracts, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-20 (a peptide).

According to the brand, this blend delays grey hair growth, preserves pigment and promotes repigmentation, while also delivering thicker, fuller, healthier hair.

According to a publication in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, greying of hair is directly linked to the loss of melanin and increase in oxidative stress in the hair follicle and shaft.

The publication continues to describe a study that involved palmitoyl tetrapeptide-20, the peptide used in Arey Grey’s Mela-9 complex. The study results demonstrated that the peptide preserved the function of follicular melanocytes (the cells that produce melanin pigments for the hair during each hair cycle).

The brand also explains that the Mela-9 Complex can, in some instances, help with re-pigmentation by stimulating MC1-R (Melanocortin 1 Receptor).

How Much Do Arey Grey Hair Care Products Cost?

To give you an idea of how much these products cost, the Not Today, Grey supplement costs $45.33 USD for a one time purchase, while the To The Root Serum costs $54.66 USD for a one time purchase.

Where to Buy Arey Grey Hair Care Products?

Is Arey Grey Cruelty Free?

  • Ingredients target the root cause of greying hair
  • Arey Grey is cruelty free
