Activated You Morning Complete Review

SKIN CARE REVIEWS

01.11.24DISCLAIMER

Wellness brand Activated You offers a powder supplement called Morning Complete that promises to help you “start your day on a positive, healthy note”. So what exactly does that mean?

According to the brand, Morning Complete is formulated with a custom-selected blend of nutrients designed to support regular digestive function, daily energy levels, and overall wellness.

This sounds great in theory, but to discover if Activated You Morning Complete lives up to these claims, we’ll have to evaluate the formulation details.

That’s exactly what we’re going to do in this Morning Complete review. Keep reading to learn more about the active ingredients in Morning Complete, the benefits of this supplement, whether or not there’s any questionable additives, what side effects to look out for, and more.

We’ll also share some Morning Complete reviews so that you can get an idea of what customers really think of this product.

What Are The Morning Complete Ingredients?

Activated You Morning Complete contains eight different “blends” that include ingredients like probiotics, prebiotics, and superfoods. Let’s get into the details.

Metabolic Blend

The metabolic blend consists of green tea, ginger root, white tea, turmeric root, bitter melon, and black pepper. Together, these ingredients should help to increase your metabolism — and there’s evidence to back up these claims.

For instance, a pilot study published in the journal Metabolism demonstrated that ginger consumption enhanced thermogenesis and reduced feelings of hunger.

A 2023 publication in the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine explains that “Ginger and turmeric affect energy metabolism using mechanisms related to thermal effect, BMR, total energy expenditure, oxygen consumption, and lipid oxidation.”

Green tea has been extensively studied for its role in weight management, and while some studies show that green tea can help with weight loss, the amount of weight lost in the studies is typically small.

For example, a publication in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews states, “Green tea preparations appear to induce a small, statistically non-significant weight loss in overweight or obese adults. Because the amount of weight loss is small, it is not likely to be clinically important. Green tea had no significant effect on the maintenance of weight loss.”

Cellular Function and Liver Support Blend

This blend inside Morning Complete features Aloe vera leaf and milk thistle seed extract in order to support the liver and cellular function.

Aloe vera is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and has been studied for its ability to regenerate liver cells.

Similarly, milk thistle extract contains silymarin, an ingredient known for its strong restorative response in the liver. In addition, silymarin acts as a potent antioxidant, helping to protect liver cells from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress. This protection is crucial for maintaining the overall health of the liver.

Sugar Balancing Support

The sugar-balancing support blend in Morning Complete is purported to help maintain balanced blood sugar levels thanks to Gymnema sylvestre leaf, fennel seed, and pine bark extract.

In particular, Gymnema sylvestr has been referred to as “one of the plants with potent anti diabetic properties” by a publication in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition because of its ability to help reduce sugar cravings and lower high blood sugar levels.

Green Superfoods Blend

The green “superfoods” blend contains vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and kale.

While it’s true that these greens contain nutrients, most people aren’t aware that these vegetables also contain anti-nutrients.

For instance, spinach and kale contain oxalates, which can bind to minerals like calcium in the kidneys and form calcium oxalate kidney stones – the most common type of kidney stone.

Broccoli contains glucosinolates and goitrogens. These antinutrients can prevent the absorption of iodine, which may then interfere with thyroid function and cause goiter.

In our opinion, these greens are far from “superfoods”!

Probiotic Blend

Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria that support the balance of the gut microbiome, aiding in the digestion and absorption of nutrients. They can contribute to a healthy gut environment, potentially alleviating issues such as bloating, gas, and irregular bowel movements.

Morning Complete contains a blend of 9 different probiotic strains, and each of these strains confers unique benefits.

For instance, a 2022 publication in the journal Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology states, “L. acidophilus has multiple effects on the human body, including nutritional effects, regulation of intestinal flora balance, enhancement of immunity, age-delaying and anti-cancer effects, and support of cholesterol reduction.”

The blend also includes a specific strain of L. gasseri that has an interesting effect: a clinical trial published in the journal Nutrients reports that this probiotic strain may improve the mental state, sleep quality, and gut microbiota of healthy adults under stressful conditions.

Prebiotic Fiber Blend

Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that serve as the food that nourish the probiotics in your gut, allowing them to thrive. Morning Complete contains two prebiotic ingredients: organic tapioca fiber and cinnamon bark.

Adaptogen Blend

An adaptogen is a compound that may help the body adapt to stress and promote an overall sense of wellbeing.

The adaptogens in the Morning Complete formula include Astragalus root, Rhodiola, and Diindolylmethane.

While these are beneficial compounds, we noticed there’s a pretty low concentration of each one. The brand doesn’t give an exact amount for each, but the total of the “Adaptogen Blend” is only 55 mg total.

To give you an idea of how low this is, a typical dosage of astragalus is 10 to 30 grams per day!

Antioxidant Blend

Three antioxidant-rich extracts make up this blend inside the Morning Complete formula, which include Lycium berry, pomegranate fruit extract, and Polygonum cuspidatum root extract (50% resveratrol).

Antioxidants are substances that protect the cells in your body from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Free radicals can come from external sources (pollution, chemicals, etc.) or internal sources (e.g. byproducts of metabolic oxidation). Too many free radicals can lead to damaged cells, signs of aging (i.e. wrinkles), chronic diseases, and even cancer.

While our bodies naturally produce antioxidants to combat these free radicals, we also need to obtain antioxidants from our diet. That’s why antioxidants, such as those included in the Morning Complete formula, can help to protect against free radical damage.

How to Use Activated You Morning Complete?

To use Morning Complete, mix a scoop of the powder in with the liquid of your choice – the brand suggests water or iced green tea – and drink.

Our Verdict

While there are some beneficial ingredients in Activated You Morning Complete, there’s pretty low doses of these ingredients used in the formula. Plus, there’s quite a few ingredients that either aren’t backed by enough science or contain anti-nutrients, making this a supplement we wouldn’t recommend.

Pros

  • Some reviews mention improvements in digestion
  • Several ingredients in the formula have research supporting their benefits
  • 90-day money back guarantee

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Greens contain anti-nutrients
  • Low concentrations of beneficial ingredients
  • Several Morning Complete reviews mention side effects like gas and bloating
