You’ve probably seen ads for Murad skincare products, but have you ever wondered who is behind the brand, and how it all started? Murad is named for its founder, Dr Howard Murad, who is a pioneer in the fields of skincare and wellness. He’s also an artist and author, and take a holistic approach to skincare.

Is Murad Skincare Worth The Money?

A common question about this brand is if the products are worth the cost.

In our opinion, Murad products are worth the money, but there are other brands that deliver greater value.

One brand is Carrot & Stick, a clean skincare brand that perfectly balances the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science.

What’s Inside Murad Skincare?

Murad products contain clinical–strength ingredients and the formulas are a mix of naturally derived extracts, such as green tea and pomegranate, as well as evidence-based ingredients like vitamin C, peptides, and retinol. These ingredients should all be part of your skincare routine. Here’s why:

Vitamin C
We’ve been hearing for years that Vitamin C is the best anti-aging ingredient. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.

Vitamin C also helps fade dark spots, evens out skin tone, and increases radiance. As if that wasn’t enough, research suggests that when vitamin C is applied to the skin, it significantly reverses aging-related structural changes by influencing collagen and elastin synthesis.

It’s used in several Murad products, such as Vita-C Glycolic Serum, Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial, Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector, and more.

But our favorite Vitamin C serum is Carrot & Stick The Defence Serum. It contains 3 distinct types of Vitamin C that work together to help fight free radical damage. We recommend using it every morning.

Peptides
As you age, your body’s production of collagen and elastin slows down. These two proteins are responsible for your skin’s structural support. As a result, the skin loses its natural plumpness and smoothness.

While collagen is necessary for maintaining youthful-looking skin, the collagen protein is too large to absorb into the skin topically. That’s why applying skin care products that contain collagen won’t provide the anti-aging benefits you’re looking for.

This is where peptides come into action. Peptides are the building blocks of protein, and they are easily absorbed into the deeper layers of skin due to their smaller size.

Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion contains Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5.

If you’re looking for a peptide serum, we recommend Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum. It contains 7 plant-based peptides to promote plumper and smoother-looking skin.

Retinol
Retinol is the go-to anti-aging ingredient recommended by dermatologists and skin experts. It’s clinically proven to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.

The only downside? Retinol can often lead to side effects like skin dryness, peeling, and irritation.

It’s in Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum.

Use retinoids at night. We recommend this retinoid oil serum. It contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, an ingredient that provides similar benefits with less irritation.

Who is Dr Murad?

Dr Murad is a board-certified dermatologist, a trained pharmacist and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. He is the founder of Murad Skincare and author of multiple books, including “The Water Secret,” the “Cellulite Solution,” and “Wrinkle Free Forever.” He’s also the president of the University for Inclusive Health, and continues to see patients at his practice in California.
When Dr Murad launched his eponymous skincare line in 1989 it was the first physician branded product line to hit the market. He is also credited with launching the first medical spa, as well as pioneering the use of alpha hydroxyl and beta hydroxyl acids, and pinpointed stress as a major health threat.

What is Dr Murad’s philosophy?

Dr Murad championed the idea of “beauty from within” and takes a 360 degree approach to skincare and wellness. Put another way, he is also known as ‘The Father of Internal Skincare.” He is a big believer that good skincare starts with the right nutrition and has said in interviews that “80% of your skin’s health is from internal care – nutrition from a good diet and supplements. Only 20% is from topical products.”

To achieve optimal health as well as beautiful, healthy looking skin, Dr Murad believes in a multi prong approach that includes: cellular hydration, nutrition, exercise that brings joy, creative expression, reconnecting with your “inner toddler,” reducing stress, as well as the right skin care. One of the cornerstones of his philosophy is to get enough water at the cellular level. He believes that cellular hydration is the common thread linking aging, disease, obesity, and wrinkles. This translates into drinking more than the recommended eight glasses of water a day. People should also aim to eat their water from consuming raw fruits and vegetables.

Murad is also known for promoting the use of dietary supplements to improve the skin. He is a fan of pomegranates, which are antioxidants and packed with polyphenols, which may boost the effectiveness of sunscreen, as well as goji berries, which are high in amino acids and vitamin C.

When it comes to his skincare line, the workhorses are the serums, which he views as the heavy lifters of a beauty routine, and “have the power to change your skin.”

What products does Dr Murad sell?

Dr Murad has a wide range of products that are formulated to deliver antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory properties and boost hydration.

The Murad system is based on a three step process that comes down to cleansing, treatment and moisturizing, and each product is color coded. Products can be mixed and matched depending on a particular skin concern, and they are color coded for ease. The Murad line is meant to address virtually every skin care concern, from acne to anti-ageing and hyperpigmentation.

What are the Best Skin Care Products of 2024?

What are some Murad bestsellers?

Some of the most popular Murad products include the Multi-Vitamin Infused Oil ($72) which is packed with six vitamins, and is designed to target signs of aging, boost hydration, brighten skin, and defend from free radicals for a more youthful-looking complexion. Retinol Youth Renewing Cream ($82) received an award in 2017 from O, Oprah’s magazine. The cream is powered by Retinol Tri-Active Technology, a fast-acting Retinoid, time-released Retinol and a booster, which works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while peptide-rich Red Algae Extract helps improve firmness and elasticity. The Pore Extractor Pomegranate Mask ($38) is a clay based mask that is meant to draw out impurities, while Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum ($75) targets dark spots.

Are there any new Murad products?

Some of the newest Murad products include a new line of “prebiotics,” which are good-for-you bacteria that can help nourish the skin. Dr Murad believes that too many people are overwashing their skin, which strips it of oils and good bacteria. This line is meant to add good bacteria in the form of probiotics back to the skin to achieve balance and radiance. The line includes a Prebiotic 4-In-1 MultiCleanser ($36), Prebiotic 3-In-1 MultiMist ($32) to replenish the skin and set makeup; and Revitalixir Recovery Serum ($89) a face and eye serum that is design to tackle dehydration, wrinkles and puffiness.

Do Murad products work?

One way to judge the efficacy of a product is to see what (if any) awards it has garnered. Murad’s Rapid Relief Acne Spot Treatment ($22) won a coveted Allure Best of Beauty award in 2018. Good Housekeeping has bestowed awards on Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel ($52) more than once. In 2016, a Good Housekeeping Laboratory test results noted that Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum firmed skin by 24% and reduced the appearance of fine lines. That same year Murad’s Invisible Face Protector, a clear sunscreen with an SPF 30, won a Breakthrough Beauty Award, also from Good Housekeeping. When the British edition of Good Housekeeping tested Murad Retinol Youth Renewal in 2018, it gave it a score of 80/100 and said that “after 28 days, testers saw improvement in their skin and said it ‘looked refreshed’ and that ‘fine lines around the eyes and mouth were noticeably reduced”. Other testers have said that the cream felt luxurious, was easily absorbed into the skin and had a pleasant but subtle smell.” The media accolades go on and on- in 2015 Allure gave the Acne Body Wash ($43) a Best of Beauty award, while that same year, Shape magazine declared Invisible Face Protector ($65) its Best Sunscreen for Face.

While Murad products are certainly popular in the media, they also seem to garner positive reviews from customers. Murad products sold on Amazon consistently get 3.5-5 star ratings. Some of the hands down winners are the Murad Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser which has 4.5 stars from 294 customer reviews, and Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, which gets 4 stars from 221 reviews. Customer feedback on Sephora is also similar, with most products getting 4-5 stars.

Why You Should Use a Skin Supplement to Support Collagen

Collagen adds density and plumpness to your skin.

In your 20’s and 30’s, natural collagen production starts to decline.

When natural collagen declines, skin loses its elasticity and bounce. This contributes to lines, wrinkles and a loss of firmness.

If you are over 30, we recommend including a plant based collagen support supplement in your skincare routine.

Our recommendation is Collagen Bounce. It supports skin’s natural collagen production, inside out.

Where are Murad products sold?

Murad products are sold individually as well as in kits on the Murad’s own website. There are multiple kits designed to treat acne prone skin, including 30 and 60 day kits, as well as kits targeting the signs of aging. Murad is also sold at Sephora, Ulta, CVS and department stores such as Nordstrom.

I have bought a set of Murad skin care from House of Fraser, I have to confess I was persuaded to buy it. After using it for about two weeks, I got very bad rash around my face and corner of my eyes with burning sensation. Its burns when I wash and also when I applied other facial creams. I was on holiday and didn’t really have access to shops to buy other creams or cleanser, so I ended up having to use the Murad kit I had every day for two weeks. It was the first time in my life that I purchased expensive products as a treat. Next time I will carry on using the £12 Weleda Skin food cream or even £5 Nivea and wash my face with the £2 Johnson’s baby shampoo like I’ve been using all my life. I am extremely disappointed and feel like I’ve flushed down my money. I wouldn’t recommend Murad skin care to anyone and I want my money back!

The kit I bought comes with Exfoliant Cleanser, Retinol Youth Renewal Serum, City Skin Age Defense Spf 50 and Intense Recovery Cream.

So I have recently bought a 30 day kit sample trial. It has a Cleanser, an acne spot treatment, acne scar treatment and a moisturizer/sun screen mix thing. So far I have been using it for about 2-3 weeks. Although that may not be an adequate amount of time to fully give a review, I want to say that I do thoroughly enjoy some of these products. The acne spot treatment contains 2.0% salicylic acid which you wont find your common products containing more than 0.5%. This has DEFINITELY reduced my acne, I have a couple of small bumps on my face that isnt really acne, its more like a keratosis pilaris type of situation, and this spot treatment has definitely helped me get rid of them. The acne scar treatment also works great, I had really dark and red spots from previous pimples that I popped, but they have severely diminished in color and size after using that spot treatment. The cleanser I am iffy about because it contains fragrance, and when I use it on my face, some sort of chemical in it makes my face kinda feel “cool”, think like putting an ice cube on your face, its like that. My issue is that before this cleanser I used one from tulla and that one never felt like that, and tulla is also a very good brand. The sunscreen moisturizer thing in my opinion is alright, it is mattifying which I enjoy but im not too sure about it since im not outside most of the time, I cant really speak on the sunscreen aspect about it.

Murad received my returned products on July 14, 2020. Their website claims to process your refund 5-10 days upon receipt of products. As of today, August 4, 2020, I have not been refunded. I have heard multiple excuses on their end regarding the refund issue. Beware that obtaining your refund is not an easy process, at least not according to my experience.

I love the Murad line so far. I have been holding off for years about trying it because it can be really expensive. I finally gave up when I was using the Ordinary line of products which made me break out in severe cystic acne. My face was in pain I even had bruising under my eye because a cystic pimple was so close. I tried the Anti Aging Time release acne cleanser, outsmart acne clarifying treatment, and the skin perfecting lotion. My skin cleared up within a few days. I did have a small reaction to the skin perfecting lotion as my skin is very sensitive. But I just stopped using that and use my Clinique moisture surge moisturizer instead. I like that Murad’s website gives you a chance to get mini and full sized products as well as samples. I have a few samples of their other moisturizers to try coming in the mail now. And I just tried their skin soothing serum which is amazing! Though I have only tried it once so I can’t do a full informative review of it yet I did wake up with super soft skin. Even though I still get blemishes here and there they aren’t painful as they were before and I use the cleanser everyday and the treatment for the spots that emerge and they are usually gone pretty quickly!

This product is amazing. I was suffering from acne after stopping the pill for about 7/8 Months before trying this. Tried lots of treatments in these months but nothing helpt. I started with the acnecontrol starter kit about 7 weeks ago. My skin seriously looks amazing!! Ok.. It’s not perfect yet. But I don’t have cysts anymore and all the red is out of my skin and almost all small pimples are gone to. My skin looks like its glowing all the time. Definitely recommend it if you have serious acne.

    Thanks so much murad!

I don’t even have a rating for this because I don’t want to give the impression that’s its worth any stars. I got a Murad acne routine kit from Sephora (I don’t quite remember the exact name) that came with their cleanser, toner, spot treatment, hydrating lotion, and age reform. I had been exeperiencing a bit of breaking out before I tried the products, and they only made it severely worse. I have cystic acne and since that was the nature of my breakouts beforehand, Murad made the whole right and left side of my face break out in horribly painful cysts. I initially, foolishly, thought my skin was just getting worse on its own until I stopped using Murad. I have never had an allergic reaction to a product before, so I didn’t know what that felt like and missed obvious symptoms and indicators that it was in fact the Murad products causing the damage. Skin is different for everyone so I don’t want to make this review under the pretense that my experience is universal. I have combination skin, and have had acne for my entire teenage and adult life. That said, it seems many people are having problems with this product so I caution you to be very careful.

I bought murad from an ulta a couple of days ago, and so far i have seen nothing but positive results!! I most definitly recommend the 30 acne treatment pack to start with. I have oily skin and the most TERRIBLE acne ever!! Giant red bumps everywhere and nothing seemed to get rid of them!! This was the most frustrating thing and it hurts my self confidence soo much. I’ve tried nutregena, mario badscue, proactive, and all of it was a disaster, until i found murad. The green tea oils smell so amazing and i love how gentle the clarifing cleanser is. I definitly recommend. My favorite acne brand so far.

Murad made my acne worse. I only had breakouts (and I knew they will go away), but my parents were getting worried about my acne so I decided to try it. The first few days it was okay, it decreased some of my acne. Then, I went on vacation, and suddenly, the acne on my cheeks that were small became itchy and swollen. It hurts, and I had to endure it. I bought safeguard, the bar soap, and it worked better than these products.

I don’t even wish to give zero rating Because it has to get least then that. The disappointing way of dealing with the customers. I had ordered it for once in the month of November. and I was charged for December and sent the product which I didn’t order. when spoke with a representative, he gave me a merchandise number and asked me to return it to get the refund. I had to pay around 8 $ to return it. I wonder why these people don’t provide return label so that we can stick it on and return it like Amazon people give. This is very bad. even after cancelling the subscription(which I didn’t opt for) these people kept charging me for January as well February. This is a very very bad way of dealing with the customers.

I received Murad Age Reform, Perfecting Night Cream as a Christmas gift. The first morning after putting it on my face, I had red patches but still applied it again on the second night. Bad move. I developed rash like hives all over my face and chest. It was horrible. I took Benadryl without relief. After two days I went to the doctor, got a shot of prednisone steroid in the butt and am now on a 6 day treatment of Methylpredisolone (heavy duty steroid). What a nightmare Christmas!

I am vegan and i have taken very good care of my skin since i was 17 years old. never in my life has my skin looked like this. Do not buy this product. I have been breaking out and scabbing and scarring for months. also massage envy is a joke. the woman lied and told me it had to get worse before it got better. i was using $2 que bella and peter thomas roth products for years and yielding better results. save yourself money and the quality of your skin !

I purchased the 60 day acne kit as well as the toner and pomegranate mask. The first night was fine, but I awoke after the 2nd night of using the kit with a red itchy rash and my eyes were swollen almost shut. After spending the day icing my eyes and seeing an eye dr, my eyes are still very swollen and I began using Benadryl cream and oral medication hoping to help calm the rash. I am not sure what to do with my $185 purchase of Myrad products from Ulta, but will attempt to return all of them tomorrow, even the unopened products.

I have a rather good skin for my age. I’ve used different brands from high-end to drugstore ( depending on my budget ). Last year because of my menopause I suddenly started seeing fine lines on my forehead & eyecontour & my face seemed falling down.! So I decided to try a few famous products and if didn’t see results go for laser. I decided to try Murad first, ( as I’d used Clarins , Ginot, Esthederm etc before ). The salesperson recommended me Murad Vitamin C serum, she said it does all I want all together. Lifts, plumps, and brightens. After 4 weeks I saw the magic. Truly satisfied & grateful. The lifting effect & decreasing fine lines were more obvious than lightening effect, so I’m gonna try whitening line as well.

I’ve been using the 60 day pack, which I purchased in Sephora. On the first day I used it, I felt great and even noticed some changes like clearer areas. The next day I used it my skin had become very irritated and red and most importantly itchy! I was surprised because I’ve never reacted to any acne brand like this one! I DO NOT recommend this brand. I don’t have sensitive skin so I’m guessing that this face wash is just a scam! DONT BUY!

I purchased the acne control rapid relief product for $15 in Sephora.
My pill has given me cystic acne on my face which has never had acne before, I’m 25.
I applied three times in the first two days as instructed on the tube and the swollenness, redness and grossness has gone. The skin is very dry around the area and I will be extremely hesitant to apply again until new spots arrive.
I believe (so far) that this treatment in moderation, coupled with a good moisturised might yield longer results….

It cost a lot so like an idiot used it one more time when I ran out of my Nerium day cream. omg now I look like Igor two days later. It was the skin perfecting lotion…age reform. what the heck is in that product. my face is still red and swollen and parched and irritated.

About a week ago, I went to massage envy and got a facial. A lot of the products they used there are Murad and everything felt great. However, the next day I found that I broke out into a rash everywhere the masseuse touched: arms, chest, neck and some on my face. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life so I freaked out and it hasn’t gone away yet and I just want to know what caused my skin (and others) to break out in a rash? Also how do I get rid of it?

Terrible, terrible………..I start last week orgdering the products. I was like, ok I will try Murad after all….So, I put whatever in the shopping card, and tried to pay on the end, but it was issues oon the web, and If I really want them, I should calal customer service. I called customer service and they were closed. Ok, I will wait, and while I wait untill monday when they will be open, tried again online. In a mean time more than 5 emails how their care for you is the best. So, I tried to order again online ( I had first time customer, 25% off which seemed great ) and again server was down. So, I called customer service: the guy firt did not get that I was new customer, he aaksed me maybe three times for ph # and adress,a nd at the end I decide to order thru him. He put me on hold for 15 min and when I told him about the 25% off he said that the discount is for online only and since they have issues, he has to redirect my call to the manager….All that made me so tired honestly and I decided go give up since there is so many different and great brands for skin care. I am not sure if I will call again that number, to much complications with customer and support center from the start that makes me to stop any action of ordering.

100% agree with this. Their pricing is unclear, and you may sign yourself up for a monthly “subscription” without realizing it. I also tried to call and figure out what happened and they weren’t friendly and even tried to up-sell me after I told them I could not afford anything monthly…ha! Their products honestly have been no different than drugstore cleansers and spot treatment, and I’ve used a ton. Don’t waste your time, or your money.

I’m 25 and have an oily T-zone with normal cheeks. My breakouts were getting so bad on my head. I tried eating healthier, working out more, Proactive, Ceravu, doctor prescribed acne medication, birth control (which actually gave my cystic acne), etc… and nothing was working. Proactive dried out my face ALOT, even with moisturizer. I wasn’t really sure about Murad, but decided to give it a try because I’m seeing family for Christmas. After a month of use, my breakouts are minimal and MOST OF THE TINY BUMPS on my head are gone! I’m so happy. I do the following every morning and night: skin smoothing polish, clarifying cleanser, clarifying toner, acne clearing solution, and the acne spot treatment. If you don’t get the exfoliator (skin smoothing polish) or toner in the “acne pack”, I would buy it separately because they seem to work the best! They recommend you use the skin perfecting lotion, but I work in a lab and I’m not in the sun very much (plus I’m afraid to use these – I’ve tried them before and they’ve made me breakout). Hope this helps. Skin is different for everything, but these are the products that worked for me!

I believe this product works well but I too agree it is way too expensive and for the amount you get is not worth the purchase. I was recommended by my Dermatologist to use Sulfur for my acne prone skin. So I went and bought the Joesoef Skin Care Anti Acne 4 Step Regimen. The kit works great and best of all is the price, something I can afford and is effective to all skin types!

    Hello –

I recently had a facial at Blush & Blow in Fulham (which are awesome) and it was using Dr Murad products, following that I ordered the products from HairHQ (which I use all the time) and but the Dr Murad products have since that day been might nightmare.

Using both a cleanser, toner, age cream and moisturiser – my face has turned into a dry, cracked, swollen, red disaster – I have had to miss work, get Benadryl, seek a DR and literally hide. My face is swollen, with redness, it itches, it hurts, its uncomfortable, pretty much the worst week of my life.

Further, I should of read the reviews – there are so many reviews of this nature that I think the products need to be removed from sale.

Horrific experience and now a waste of money.

At first it felt fine but I noticed the face was was a bit to much so I switched to a face was the sales clerk at sephora recommend me to use when I’m not using the Murad one. The acne cream and hydration cream seem to be working but it also feels like it isn’t. Also the acne cream and hydration cream I can’t get on my neck. They did by accident ( the creams were on the bottom of my palm and touched my neck) and almost instantly burned my neck and a horrible red rash appeared. I continued using the creams just on my face but I can feel my face getting burned so I’m going to stop before it gets any worse.

I used to use Murad in middle school with pretty good results, but I had to stop using it because it would dry my skin out horribly and leave my face swollen. I decided to use it as a quick fix my senior year for a show I was in and that was a huge mistake. The following morning my face was so dry I had a bleeding crack on my cheek! It was opening night of the show and I had to cake stage makeup over that! It took a week of straight coconut oil on my face to fix. My skin has never been that terrible. Will never be using murad again. It not only harmed more than helped, but made me bleed.

I received a gift certificate at Massage Envy and used it for a sample box of five facial products. I didn’t have my reading glasses and wasn’t able to read the ingredients, which is something I do with everything (don’t judge me…lol). The ingredients alone scared me and are keeping me from using it. Also, after reading reviews, I won’t be using it but will return it and use the money toward some Organic body butter that they carry. Also at $45 for such tiny tiny bottles, the body butter is a much better deal at $16 for 5 oz. Still expensive, but Organic ingredients and no SOY! I hate GMO’s.

In February I ordered a “starter supply” and after learning at the end that it would cost $ 251.?? I told the person to void the order. I was told that voiding the order was not possible. Instead of creating an issue I went ahead with the order since there is a “money back guarantee.” Two months later I phoned Murad to get a Return Authorization to return the product. At first I was told I was a day or two late, but when I told Natalie when I received the product, she responded that the 60 day trial began when the order was placed. When I told her that I would do everything possible to expose their scam “money back guarantee.” Then Natalie gave me a six digit return authorization number. I mailed the starter kit back and called 2 weeks later to check on the refund. I was told it could be up to two weeks more before I would see the refund. A month later I called to ask why I have not seen the refund. Earlier this week I finally had the patience to wait on the queue to talk with a person at Murad. A gentleman took my call and came back to me saying there had been no return authorization on the returned merchandize. I told him that was not true. He gave me a different return authorization number and told me it would be up to 6 business days before I saw the refund. We shall see. These people do not have a cheerful return policy.

I use the Murad Concelar, it goes on well. Under the concealer I use the Citrus Clear Spot Treatment – and I apply it throughout the day also – Both my husband and I use The Citrus Clear product because it blends very well into the skin and helps minimize the blemish quicker.

I’ve tried many acne cleansers. Most have a very medicinal smell to them. I absolutely love the natural scent of Citrus Clear face washes…i bought the two pack. I use it every night and it takes off makeup (including eye makeup) wonderfully. It doesn’t dry out my skin and definitely helps keep breakouts to a minimum. I use this in combination with the Tangerine Tingle.

Fish Oil – pills (AM only)

About 3 years ago I saw the Murad infomercial on TV and ordered the Resurgence starter kit, with money back guarantee. The product that really stood out for me was the daily cleanser, and I returned everything else, and got my money back. I switched from my years of Dove soap to the cleanser and it was really amazing. My skin was definitely not dry after using it, it smelled great, and ALL my face makeup was removed. For whatever reason, I recently ran out and decided to try some Neutrogena products. YUK. My skin is a mess (and those products smell gross). Either irritated from the alpha hydroxy scrub or NOT clean from the moisturizing cleanser which doesn’t suds at all. I am back to Dove until I get more Murad Resurgence cleanser, which I just ordered. I also decided to try the Resurgence Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. I want a product that is an all in one to go under my foundation so I hope this is it. I am just shy of 60 and am told my skin looks like I am late 40-something. I am also a physician and don’t buy the usual B.S. about skin very easily, so I am glad there is a money-back guarantee as this moisturizer is pretty pricey!

So I just got the Acne Spot treatment and as I was going to sleep could feel my face burning/tingling. In my mind I just thought that’s what happens when the product is at work. I woke up this morning to rashes all over my face that look like sunburn and they have yet to go away. Clearly I am having an allergic reaction to this product and have no desire in using it again. Any help on how to get the rash down would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I love Dr. Murad products. I have been using them approximately 6 months. People have said my skin looks great. Even the person who does my makeup for special occasions noticed. If she noticed then it must be working. I have dry sensitive skin so it has made a definite change for the better. I have not broken out not even once.

Same your time, energy, and money. These products are sub par at best and leave your skin continuously wanting more. I have worked with this brand and I have worked with brands that actually make a difference. This product is a joke, spend the money for real results and take care of yourself internally.

I just started using Murad Resurgence about 3 weeks ago and I see a HUGE difference. My skin has always been good but I am now, at age 46, just noticing that I have some fine lines around my eyes and a couple of age spots. This product is wonderful! I am so excited to see the age spots disapearing and my skin is feeling and looking tighter and bright and healthy again!!! I highly recommend this product! Thank you Dr. Murad!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I wish there was someone I could kiss!! I just got my post-acne dark spot lightener and its been a week and the dramatic difference is unimaginable. I was at the end of my rope with how bad my skin was looking and when my mom passed 4 years ago she had some Murad products in her things – so I got online and order some products. Best thing I ever did. Thank you Murad… I love you!

I was using Murad Complex and throught that was better than Proactiv. I wish I could say the same about Murad Resurgence but I thought it did not feel great on my skin. I discovered this range is for hormonal aging and do not fit into this category. Im probably to old to keep using acne products so I will need to say goodbye to Murad for now as they do not manufacturer products for my age group.

hi linsey. I am a new to Murad brand but have found it really good compared to other skincare brands i have used.. I believe that your skin is “purging” if you are using a new product especially if its got salicylic acid or acne type ingredients. Keep using what you are trying and it should clear up any congestion or blocked pored you may have.
i would really reccomend the T-zone pore refining gel too, i have really like that. makes your skin smoother/clearer.
    hope this helps 🙂 grace

Is it normal to break out at first after using Murad? Will it eventually get better, if so, when? I’ve been using the acne system for a little over a week and I feel like it just keeps getting worse. Help?

I bought the Acne Complex – 30 days recently. i’m in my early 40s and have developed lots of acne and pimples on my cheek and chin for the past 2 years. I started 2 weeks back and my acne & pimples problem seem to fade away. I have no breakout since then and in fact the cleanser is gentle on the skin. I hope to see more improvement on my skin for the next couple of months. In fact, the term 30 days usage for the product can be stretch to 60 days. You don’t need to slap plenty on your face. Just a drop of every bottle is sufficient on the face. Thanks Dr Murad.

Looked like I got burned. 🙁 just a warning to be very careful when using this product. Especially if you have sensitive skin. Bummed it didn’t work for me.

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream Review

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream is an anti-aging facial cream that is said to visibly minimize lines and wrinkles and help smooth skin’s texture. The formula contains Retinol Tri-Active Technology, which is a combination of pure retinol and retinol propionate (a retinol ester composed of retinol and propionic acid). Both retinol and retinol propionate are converted to retinoic acid once absorbed by the skin. Retinoic acid has the ability to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream also features peptide-rich red algae extract, which improves the look of skin’s firmness and elasticity to help restore youthful contours. There are many different emollients in this formula, include shea butter, squalane, borage oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, and many more. These emollients enable Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream to feel creamy and soft without leaving any greasy residue behind. Emollients also help the skin to retain moisture, resulting in soft, smooth skin. Lastly, Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream contains several botanical extracts that provide antioxidant effects. Antioxidants help the skin combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.

Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser Review

The Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser was designed to serve as a nutrient dense daily cleanser that energizes the skin without stripping it of its essential moisture. Designed for all skin types, this product acts as a workhorse cleanser for use as part of your morning and evening routine. One of the most important aspects of this product is the availability of crucial vitamins and antioxidants which help to ensure that your skin is functioning optimally. Antioxidants in particular are an excellent option for those of you who are looking to add an anti-aging ingredient into your skincare routine without risking any irritation. Antioxidants are prevalent in many botanical sources including extracts and plant oils. These compounds help to protect the skin from environmental aggressors including pollution and free radicals. These aggressors can damage the skin. As this damage begins to add up, the skin is more and more likely to start showing signs of premature aging. Using antioxidant rich formulas like the Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser helps to not only prevent more damage from accumulating, but also undoing the damage that has already been caused.

    INGREDIENTS

    Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel Review

Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel is an extra-strength 10% glycolic acid anti-aging treatment peel. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. It has a small molecular weight, which means it can penetrate the skin very easily. It exerts anti-inflammatory, keratolytic, and antioxidant effects, and acts as both an exfoliator and a moisturizer. Glycolic acid exfoliates the skin by targeting corneocytes (dead skin cells that make up the stratum corneum) in a process called corneocyte desquamation. By enhancing their breakdown and increasing the separation of skin cells, the rate of cell turnover is increased, leading to smoother, more elastic skin. Glycolic acid is classified as a humectant moisturizer based on its ability to increase the supply of hyaluronic acid in the extracellular matrix. AHAs have also been found to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is needed to maintain strong, firm, youthful skin.

Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel also contains ascorbic acid, which is commonly known as vitamin C. Ascorbic acid is a potent antioxidant that can protect the skin from free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Ascorbic acid also plays an important role in collagen synthesis and has the ability to fade dark spots on the skin. This “peel” actually comes in the form of towelettes that are applied over a clean face, neck, and chest. It is recommended to allow 3 minutes for full absorption and then follow with a moisturizer. This product is not rinsed off.

    INGREDIENTS

Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel Review

Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel is said to brighten, smooth, and hydrate to promote a radiant glow after just one treatment. This peel should be massaged onto clean face, neck, and chest, left on for 10 minutes, and then rinsed off. As with most Murad products, this peel contains glycolic acid as one of its key ingredients. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that exfoliates the skin by targeting corneocytes (dead skin cells that make up the stratum corneum) in a process called corneocyte desquamation. By enhancing their breakdown and increasing the separation of skin cells, the rate of cell turnover is increased, leading to smoother, more elastic skin.

Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel also contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a precursor to ascorbic acid (vitamin C) that has better stability and causes less of a stinging sensation upon application to the skin. Once sodium ascorbyl phosphate is absorbed by the skin, it is converted to ascorbic acid. The final key ingredient in the Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel is Myrtus communis (myrtle) leaf extract. Myrtle extract is said to increase cellular longevity and protect collagen fibers against glycation. By limiting glycation, myrtle extract helps the skin to maintain its strength and elasticity, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

    INGREDIENTS

Murad Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel Review

Murad Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel is a skin-lightening gel treatment that fades post-acne skin discoloration and acne dark spots. The main active ingredient in this gel is hydroquinone, which is considered to be the gold standard for treating hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone works by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase, the key enzyme involved in the formation of melanin (the pigment that gives skin color). Murad Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel also contains willow bark extract and tea tree oil to help purify the skin. You will also find glycolic acid in this gel. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that exfoliates dead skin cells and increases the rate of cell turnover, leading to smoother, more radiant skin.

Of note, prolonged use of hydroquinone can lead to a rare condition known as ochronosis. Ochronosis is a darkening of the skin that is caused by a buildup of phenylalanine or tyrosine. Ochronosis may also occur as the result of excessive sun exposure while using products containing hydroquinone, as hydroquinone tends to thin the skin, making it more photosensitive. As such, skin care products containing hydroquinone, such as the Murad Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel, should always be used with a sunscreen.

    INGREDIENTS

    Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser Review

Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is said to smooth the skin’s texture while cleansing impurities due to three exfoliating agents — glycolic acid, lactic acid, and salicylic acid — and jojoba beads. This cleanser should only be used 2 to 3 times per week for optimal results. Both glycolic acid and lactic acid are classified as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and are derived from natural sources; glycolic acid is from sugar cane and lactic acid is from milk. AHAs exfoliate the skin by targeting corneocytes (dead skin cells) in a process called corneocyte desquamation. By enhancing their breakdown and increasing the separation of skin cells, the rate of cell turnover is increased, leading to smoother, more radiant skin.

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from natural sources such as willow tree bark, wintergreen leaves, or sweet birch bark. It works by softening and dissolving keratin, a protein found in the skin that acts as a “glue” to keep cells together. Thus, salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and sloughs off dead skin cells. Since it is an oil-soluble acid, it has the ability to penetrate deep into pores instead of remaining only on the skin surface. Inside the pores, it helps to loosen clogs and allows oil to flow out more freely. Thus, salicylic acid helps break down blackheads and whiteheads. Lastly, the jojoba beads in the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser further polish and smooth skin.

Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel Reiview

Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel is an oil-free gel cream that is said to instantly hydrate and plump the skin. It contains Murad’s Cumulative Hydration-Release Technology, which instantly locks moisture to skin and increases retention for up to 5 days. This claim is based on a clinical study of 20 people that used the product for 3 weeks. The Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel is able to hydrate skin so effectively because it contains ingredients that draw water into the skin (humectants), as well as ingredients that help improve the skin’s barrier function.

A humectant is a hygroscopic substance that has a molecular structure with several hydrophilic groups. This structure allows humectants to attract and retain the moisture in the air nearby via absorption, drawing the water vapor into or beneath the surface. The humectants in the Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel include glycerin, calcium pantothenate, urea, hydroxyethyl urea, inositol, sodium hyaluronate, and several others. The Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel also helps to improve moisture retention by improving the skin’s barrier function. Some of the ingredients in this gel that improve the barrier include ceramides, peptides, cholesterol, phytosphingosine, and numerous vitamins and minerals. Due to all of these reparative, hydrating ingredients, the Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel is best for those with dry, dull skin with fines lines and wrinkles.

    Murad City Skin Review

If you’re looking for a daily sunscreen that feels comfortable throughout the day, you may want to check out the Murad City Skin. Finding the right sunscreen can be one of the most important aspects of your daily skincare routine. But it can also be one of the most difficult. Not all sunscreen filters are created equal and understanding SPF protection can be a bit of a challenge. So what makes the Murad City Skin unique? First and foremost, it’s important to understand the SPF label that this product has. The Murad City Skin has an SPF Broad Spectrum rating of 50 and a PA rating of four pluses. Depending on where you’re located, you may or may not be familiar with these ratings. Starting off with Broad Spectrum, this phrase is typically used for sunscreen that are produced in the U.S. and it means that the sun protection in this product protects against UVA and UVB rays. On the other hand, the PA system is designed to specifically measure UVA protection, which are the rays of light that cause photoaging. A PA rating of four pluses means that the Murad City Skin has a high UVA rating as well, which makes it an excellent option for everyday wear.

    Murad Eye Cream

Murad Eye Cream Review: Ingredients and Overview Murad Eye Cream is manufactured by a company founded in 1989, which was the brainchild of dermatologist and trained pharmacist Howard Murad. The company claims to have a scientific foundation and pioneered the Science of Cellular Water, said to be the basis of healthy skin with continuous cellular hydration. Dr. Murad believes Murad Eye Cream and several other patented products are superior for skin nourishment and help consumers get rid of wrinkles. Further, if you read great Murad Eye Cream reviews on the company website, be wary of immediately jumping to a decision to buy, as it may not be the right long term solution for your skin care routine. For example, at a cost of about $70 for just half an ounce, the creams manufactured by this company can be out of reach for some customers. This makes it important to be diligent about your research, read reviews and try to obtain Murad Eye Cream samples before permanently adding the company’s creams to your skin care routine.

Murad Eye Cream Ingredients and Uses

Murad Eye Cream products claim to provide surface moisture needed to maintain healthy skin around the eyes. Per the manufacturer, signs of aging; including puffiness, crow’s feet, and dark circles under the eyes, can be targeted and removed to produce younger-looking, healthy skin. To this end, the manufacturer offers a variety of Murad Eye Cream options.

    Murad Clarifying Cleanser

Unlike many other acne solutions, this product is not sold as part of a skin care kit and can be added to any acne treatment regimen for daily use. Murad Clarifying Cleanser is marketed as being safe for all skin types, from oily to dry, but should be used with caution until you know how it affects your skin.

    Murad Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment Review

Murad Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment is said to minimize the look of post-acne scar size, depth, and discoloration in 8 weeks. One of the key ingredients in this formula is salicylic acid, a type of beta hydroxy acid (BHA). Salicylic acid is oil-soluble and can penetrate deep into pores, where it exfoliates the pore lining. This helps to loosen clogged dirt and oil, and helps to wash these impurities away. Salicylic acid also has the ability to dissolve keratin, the protein that acts as a “glue” to keep dead skin cells together in the stratum corneum. This is effective because dead skin cells can build up on the surface of your skin, leaving it looking dull and also possibly clogging pores. Exfoliation also helps to reduce the appearance of post-acne scars.

Murad Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment also contains active components from Centella asiatica extract, including asiaticoside, madecassic acid, and asiatic acid. All of these components work to enhance moisturization, calm inflammation, and stimulate collagen synthesis. The formula also contains a high concentration of ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C). Ascorbic acid can help reduce darks pots and improve uneven skin tone through inhibition of melanin synthesis.

Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer Review: Product and Ingredient Information Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer is a part of the Murad Age Reform line of products from Murad skin care. This anti-aging product is formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and tighten skin. Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer is one of a wide array of products sold by the company, which was founded by Howard Murad, M.D., in 1989. Though the product is available without a prescription, it’s a good idea to speak with your dermatologist ahead of time, because of the product’s high cost. If you’re considering adding this item to your daily beauty regimen, then you should ask your dermatologist or other skin care expert of this product is right for you, and read Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer reviews to ensure there isn’t a better alternative for your situation.

Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer: What You Should Know

    Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion

Individuals struggling with sagging skin and wrinkles may have heard about an anti aging cream called Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion. Manufactured by the Murad skin care company, this cream is claimed to address the major signs of aging, and even to boost collagen. However, because of inherent limitations of topical creams, the savvy consumer may wish to approach such Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion claims with a bit of caution. After all, stimulating collagen with topical creams is a notoriously difficult process, because the active ingredients must first penetrate deep enough to induce such growth. Therefore, consumers are strongly advised to first consult with a licensed dermatologist who can analyze their medical history, and read Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion reviews before making a final purchasing decision.

Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum

Dark spots on the face can make us look significantly older than we really are, making product like Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum popular due to their promise of making the skin look brighter, and consequently younger. This product is available from the well-known skin care company established by Dr. Murad, who developed a variety of formulas to repair damaged skin, address acne, stimulate collagen production to reduce wrinkles, and much more. However, although this anti aging serum has a variety of interesting ingredients, some Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum reviews are quite lukewarm. It seems that a large portion of the consumers didn’t experience the skin brightening effects they anticipated. Was this a result of over-promising and under-delivering, on behalf of Murad? Or did the customers simply have unrealistic expectations? To better understand what Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum may achieve for your skin, we take a deeper look at how it works and its ingredient list. Here is what we’ve found:

How Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum Works

One of the reasons dark spots are such a big deal is because they are commonly associated with age, earning them the commonly-used name; age spots. Certainly, they also cause the skin’s appearance to look more heterogeneous, which makes it appear less smooth – a visual perception that may not seems aesthetically pleasing. But the reason why products like Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum are quite popular with the consumer is because there is an inherent stigma around age spots – we’ve come to automatically associate them with becoming older.
