Software Skin Reviews: A Review of The 5 Best Software Skin Products

SKIN CARE REVIEWS

12.14.23DISCLAIMER

Software Skin is an online skin care platform that gives you access to prescription skincare products and professional advice without having to go to the dermatologist’s office.

The brand’s goal is to reduce the overwhelming task of choosing skincare products by taking the guesswork out of your routine, combining the most effective, science-backed prescription ingredients with expert guidance.

You can choose to receive a custom formulation from one of Software Skin’s practitioners, but the brand also offers a lineup of products that don’t require a consultation or prescription.

In this review, we’ll discuss the best selling Software Skin products, including the key ingredients and the research that supports (or doesn’t support) their use in skincare.

We’ll also share some Software Skin reviews so that you can get an idea of what customers really think of these products.

What Are The Top 5 Best Software Skin Products?

Software Skin offers everything that you would need to create a complete skincare routine, including cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and more. Here’s a breakdown of the top 5 best Software Skin products.

Software Skin Vitamin C + Ferulic Serum

Protecting your skin from pollutants and environmental free radicals is becoming increasingly important in order to prevent premature skin aging. Since it’s not possible to avoid all the pollutants in the world today, using an antioxidant serum is one way to ramp up your skin’s defenses.

Software Skin Vitamin C + Ferulic Serum is a facial antioxidant serum that contains a potent dose of 15% ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) along with the antioxidants vitamin E and ferulic acid. The formula also includes the moisture magnet hyaluronic acid.

The result? An antioxidant serum that not only protects against environmental damage caused by free radicals, but also improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, hydrates and plumps, and brightens the complexion.

Software Skin Multi-Peptide Eye Serum

Using an eye serum is crucial because the skin around the eyes is delicate and prone to issues like puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. The Software Skin Multi-Peptide Eye Serum combines two peptides — nonapeptide-1 and acetyl hexapeptide-8 — to help address signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles.

There’s also ingredients to hydrate the delicate skin around the eyes, such as glycerin and sodium hyaluronate. Plus, bladderwrack extract (a type of seaweed) reduces vascular inflammation to help reduce dark circles.

Software Skin Retinol Complex Oil

Just as the name suggests, retinol (vitamin A) is the star ingredient in this lightweight facial oil. We’ll give you all the details on retinol in the Key Ingredients section below.

Retinol is combined with rosehip oil and seabuckthorn oil, which are both rich in fatty acids that help to stimulate regenerative actions of the skin barrier.

Of note, there’s a pretty high concentration of sandalwood oil in this formula, which is a fragrant oil that has the potential to cause skin sensitivity reactions.

Software Skin Hyaluronic Complex Serum

You might guess that hyaluronic acid is the key ingredient in this Software Skin serum, but it’s actually sodium hyaluronate, the salt form of hyaluronic acid.

Sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid are basically the same and the two names are used interchangeably in the skin care industry. The main differences are that sodium hyaluronate is more stable, easier to formulate, and cheaper. That’s why it is common to see sodium hyaluronate on an ingredient list even though the product name might say hyaluronic acid.

Once applied to the skin, sodium hyaluronate provides the same benefits of hyaluronic acid. Those benefits include improved skin hydration, as well as a more plump complexion with fewer lines and wrinkles.

This serum is great to add extra hydration for all skin types, although if you have dry skin you may want to follow with a thicker moisturizer to help lock in moisture.

Software Skin Ceramide Repair Balm

Described as “a blanket of moisture and nourishment for your skin”, the Ceramide Repair Balm has a rich, luxurious texture that delivers long-lasting hydration (without feeling greasy).

Even though ceramide is used in the name of this balm, there’s actually a pretty low concentration of ceramide in this formula. The highest concentration ingredient (after water) is dimethicone, a type of silicone.

Dimethicone helps this balm to melt into the skin while imparting a silky, smooth skin feel. It also forms a protective covering on the skin that provides both water-binding and water-resistant properties.

How Much Do Software Skin Products Cost?

Software Skin products are mid-range in terms of cost; they are more than drugstore products, but they aren’t ridiculously expensive. For example, the Vitamin C + Ferulic Serum costs $59 for 1 fl oz (30 mL).

If you want a custom formula, you can pay $108 for a two-month supply.

Where to Buy Software Skin Products?

Is Software Skin Cruelty Free?
