All three of the key SENTÉ Skin Care key products are formulated with the patented Heparan Sulfate Analog (HSA) technology. Heparan sulfate is a naturally-occuring glycosaminoglycan (GAG), similar to hyaluronic acid, that binds water to the skin to improve hydration and plump the skin. In addition, heparan sulfate plays a role in cell signaling. Cells receive signals from growth factors and cytokines to know when to start making more collagen and hyaluronic acid. Cells need to “hear” these signals, and as cells age they don’t “hear” these signals as well. Heparan sulfate surrounds and protects the growth factors, bringing them to the cell so that the growth factors bind the proper receptor sites and tell the cells to make collagen. Ultimately, this helps to increase skin firmness and promote a more youthful complexion. While HSA is the key ingredient in SENTÉ Dermal Repair Cream, this cream contains supporting ingredients such as vitamin E, green tea leaf extract, and argan oil. Both vitamin E and green tea leaf extract are antioxidants that help the skin combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Argan oil contains several beneficial fatty acids that promote skin health, including oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. Oleic acid is an omega-9 monounsaturated fatty acid that functions as a penetration enhancer by disturbing the skin barrier. Linoleic acid, an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, possesses anti-inflammatory properties and also replenishes the skin’s barrier function. Palmitic acid and stearic acid are both saturated fatty acids that also aid in replenishing the skin’s barrier function.
In addition to HSA, SENTÉ Bio Complete Serum contains sustained release retinoids (retinyl safflowerate and retinol) to further reduce signs of aging. After being absorbed by the skin, retinol is converted to retinoic acid, the active metabolite of vitamin A, which increases the production of collagen and promotes healthy cell turnover. Retinol is clinically proven to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone, and restore skin firmness.
