SKIN CARE REVIEWS

02.08.24DISCLAIMER

LolaVie is the line of hair care products by Jennifer Aniston. The products are promised to be “effective, smart, and unfussy” with clean, plant-powered formulas for every hair type and texture.

So how well do these products perform? To answer that question, we’ll evaluate the product formulations, including the key ingredients in LolaVie hair care products and the research that supports (or doesn’t support) their use in hair care.

We’ll also share some LolaVie reviews so that you can get an idea of what customers really think of these products.

What Are The Top 4 Best LolaVie Hair Care Products?

Here’s a breakdown of the top 4 best LolaVie Hair Care Products.

LolaVie Shampoo

The LolaVie Shampoo is formulated to gently cleanse the hair and scalp while nourishing hair with vegetable ceramides, botanical extracts, and B vitamins like biotin and niacinamide. Together, these ingredients help to repair existing damage, while the brand’s proprietary LolaVie Bond harnesses the power of chia seeds to protect against future damage.

LolaVie Conditioner

The LolaVie Conditioner helps to promote hydration, strength, smoothness and shine thanks to ingredients like a vegan keratin complex and botanical extracts from coconut, jackfruit, and orange.

Keratin is the primary component of hair. According to the Cleveland Clinic, studies have shown that shampoos and conditioners that contain keratin hydrolysates can make your hair stronger, brighter and softer.

However, the LolaVie vegan keratin complex doesn’t contain keratin — it consists of hydrolyzed chickpea, lentil, and quinoa peptides designed to mimic hydrolyzed keratin. This is said to help increase hydration, reduce frizz, and improve overall feel.

LolaVie Glossing Detangler

The popular LolaVie Glossing Detangler is a lightweight spray that’s formulated to help detangle, prime before heat styling with vegan thermal shield, enhance shine with lemon extract, and smooth with a superfruit complex and vegetable ceramides. You can use this spray on wet or dry hair for hydration, shine, and flyaway control.

LolaVie Perfecting Leave In

This LolaVie leave-in conditioner hydrates, fights frizz, and smooths with a superfruit complex and the Rose of Jericho. Known as the resurrection plant, Rose of Jericho delivers moisture to hair while also functioning as a natural silicone alternative that imparts hair with a smooth texture. This multi-tasking cream also protects with a vegan thermal shield and extends style with bamboo extract.

What Are The Key Ingredients in LolaVie Hair Care Products?

While each of the LolaVie hair care products has its own unique ingredients, there’s a few ingredients used throughout the collection, including a Bamboo Essence, Superfruit Conditioning Complex, LolaVie Bond, and Longevity Complex.

Bamboo Essence

Each of the LolaVie hair care products is fortified with bamboo essence. Bamboo shoots, stalks, and leaves are naturally abundant in minerals, such as silica. After undergoing fermentation, the resulting bamboo essence can be used as a potent cosmetic material, contributing to reduced waste and the preservation of our planet’s vital resource — water.

Superfruit Conditioning Complex

One of the components of the LolaVie Superfruit Conditioning Complex is coconut extract, specifically coconut MCTs and lipids.

Due to its high moisture-retaining capacity, coconut oil remains on the skin, scalp, and hair shaft, preventing moisture from evaporating or breaking down easily.

A publication in The Journal of Cosmetic Science compared coconut oil to mineral oil and sunflower oil on the hair, and concluded that coconut oil was the only oil found to reduce the protein loss remarkably for both undamaged and damaged hair when used as a pre-wash and post-wash grooming product.

The Superfruit Conditioning Complex also includes amaranthus squalane and essential fatty acids from acai help increase moisture levels on hair and protect hair exposed to environmental stress.

LolaVie Bond

Another proprietary ingredient that’s used throughout the collection is called LolaVie Bond. This ingredient uses natural polymers derived from chia seeds to construct a new protective cuticle around the hair.

The brand refers to these self-assembling biopolymers as a “stapler” because they bond to the hair cuticle via ionic bonds to seal and cover lifted or cracked cuticles in place. Ultimately, this helps to prevent future damage.

Longevity Complex

The proprietary Longevity Complex is used in the LolaVie hair products to help increase the lifecycle of each hair follicle. The complex includes B vitamins (niacinamide, panthenol, and biotin), caffeine, and melatonin.

It’s great that caffeine is in this complex since caffeine helps to increase circulation to the scalp while also blocking the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

DHT is a hormone linked to hair loss in some cases. It’s known to miniaturize hair follicles and shorten the hair growth cycle. Caffeine, when applied topically or included in hair care products, has been proposed to counteract these effects.

An in vitro study in the British Journal of Dermatology found that caffeine enhanced hair shaft elongation, prolonged anagen duration, and stimulated hair matrix keratinocyte proliferation.
