Just as the name suggests, vitamin C is the star ingredient in Goodal Vitamin C Serum, along with a brightening blend of antioxidants and a few hydrating ingredients.

But is Goodal Vitamin C Serum right for you? To help you out, we’ll give you all the details on the key ingredients in this formula, as well as the research that supports (or doesn’t support) their use in skin care. We’ll also share some Goodal Vitamin C Serum reviews so that you can get an idea of what customers really think of this product.

  • Skin type? Dark spots and post acne hyperpigmentation
  • Texture? Gel-like serum

What Are The Key Ingredients in Goodal Vitamin C Serum?

In order to determine how well Goodal Vitamin C Serum performs, we’ll have to evaluate the key ingredients in this formula. Let’s get started.

Organic Green Tangerine Extract

The source of vitamin C in the Goodal Vitamin C Serum is organic green tangerine extract, which contains 10x more vitamin C than lemons.

We’ve been hearing for years that Vitamin C is the best anti-aging ingredient. It’s a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.

Vitamin C also helps fade dark spots, evens out skin tone, and increases radiance. As if that wasn’t enough, research suggests that when vitamin C is applied to the skin, it significantly reverses aging-related structural changes by influencing collagen and elastin synthesis.

Our favorite Vitamin C serum is Carrot & Stick The Defence Serum. It contains 3 distinct types of Vitamin C that work together to help fight free radical damage. We recommend using it every morning.

Niacinamide

We love that Goodal Vitamin C Serum contains 4% niacinamide, which is one of the best skincare ingredients, in our opinion. And there’s research to back it up. For example, a publication in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology states that niacinamide can repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. It’s a true multi-tasking ingredient!

We recommend Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum because it combines niacinamide with seven plant-based neuropeptides and soothing, brightening botanicals to promote a youthful glow.

Arbutin

Arbutin is another ingredient in the Goodal Vitamin C Serum that can help to reduce the appearance of dark spots through inhibition of tyrosinase. Tyrosinase is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of melanin, the pigment that gives skin color. By inhibiting tyrosinase, arbutin helps to reduce abnormal pigmentation associated with aging and exposure to UV light.

Essential Oils

One concern we have with the Goodal Vitamin C Serum is that the formula is packed with fragrant essential oils, such as bergamot, lavender, lemon peel, and more.

These essential oils create a pleasant fragrance, but keep in mind that fragrance is not skin care! These ingredients have the potential to cause skin sensitivity reactions.

According to a publication in the scholarly journal Dermatitis, nearly 80 essential oils have caused contact allergy. This is because all fragrance ingredients (whether natural or synthetic) impart scent through a volatile reaction, and this natural reaction almost always causes a sensitizing reaction on skin.

Even if you don’t have a full blown reaction to the ingredient, the damage may still be occurring every day. Ultimately, this can cause mild problems for your skin in the short term and worse problems in the long term.

How to Use Goodal Vitamin C Serum?

After cleansing and toning, gently apply an appropriate amount on your face and neck. After fully absorbed, follow with moisturizer and SPF. Gentle enough to use twice a day, AM and PM.

Goodal Vitamin C Serum Reviews

There are many 5-star reviews for Goodal Vitamin C Serum on Amazon.com from customers who love that it helps to fade dark spots and brighten the complexion.

For example, one review says, “I have been using this product every night after washing my face! I noticed a change in my face within the week of using it every night! Some of the changes that I’ve noticed is that it corrects some of the sun spots that I had on my face, it made my skin brighter and smoother! I am happy with the results that I have been getting!”

However, there are a handful of negative reviews for the Goodal Vitamin C Serum. Some of the 1-star reviews are from customers who experienced skin irritation from this product, and others mention they didn’t see any results after using this serum.

For example, one review says, “I know people love this stuff but it just doesn’t work for me. I don’t see any difference when I use it (no glow, no moisturization) but I break out every time. I’ve tried it off and on to see if this was the problem and discovered that it was.”

Our Verdict

Overall, we don’t recommend Goodal Vitamin C Serum, primarily because the formula is packed with fragrant essential oils which can lead to skin irritation and damage.

Pros

  • Formula contains beneficial ingredients (organic green tangerine extract, niacinamide, arbutin)
  • Many positive Goodal Vitamin C Serum reviews
  • Cruelty free
  • Budget-friendly

Cons

  • Formula contains essential oils, which may lead to skin irritation

What Are Some Alternatives to  Goodal Vitamin C Serum?

Our favorite Vitamin C serum is Carrot & Stick The Defence Serum, an antioxidant-packed serum that helps promote collagen production and visibly brighten skin with three distinct Vitamin C derivatives. We recommend using it regularly as part of your morning and evening routine to transform dull, uneven-looking skin into a clearer, more radiant and healthier-looking complexion.
