In 2005, Bulldog Skincare founder Simon Duffy noticed that there were no straightforward skincare options that were made for him. There were products he used, but no products that he loved. Thus, he created Bulldog Skincare specifically for men of all skin types, with options for those with normal, sensitive, oily, or mature skin.Â

The Bulldog Skincare collection offers men a variety of skin care products, which are divided into six different lines based on skin type: Original, Sensitive, Oil Control, Mature, Protective, and Energising. Bulldog Skincare also offers shaving products and beard care products. A few of the key products in the Bulldog Skincare collection include the Original Face Wash, Original Face Scrub, and Oil Control Face Mask.Â
Bulldog Skincare Original Face Wash is a non-drying face wash that is formulated to cleanse the skin, leaving it looking visibly clear and feeling refreshed. It is mild and lathers into a creamy foam. This face wash is recommended for those with normal skin.Â
Bulldog Skincare Original Face Scrub is a facial scrub that is formulated to remove dead skin and leave the skin feeling smooth and deeply cleansed. This face scrub is recommended for those with normal skin.Â
Bulldog Skincare Oil Control Face Mask is a mattifying face mask that is formulated to help minimize excess oil and leave the skin feeling smooth and soft. The mask should be applied in a thick layer and left on for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing off. It is recommended for those with oily skin to use the Oil Control Face Mask once a week or as often as necessary.Â

The ingredients found in Bulldog Skincare products are never from animal sources, and the brand is certified by Cruelty Free International. All Bulldog Skincare products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. They also do not use plastic microbeads, synthetic fragrances, or artificial colors. The formulations are simple and use limited ingredients. Often brands include many ingredients but this results in a product that irritates the skin.
Bulldog Skincare Original Face Wash features key ingredients such as Aloe vera leaf juice, camelina seed oil, and green tea leaf extract. Aloe vera leaf juice helps to increase the skin’s hydration, as well as provide anti-inflammatory effects. Camelina seed oil contains high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential building blocks of skin’s top layers. This oil helps to reinforce and smooth the skin’s surface, as well as increase hydration without feeling heavy. Green tea leaf extract contains powerful antioxidants that help the skin combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. The Original Face Wash also contains coconut-derived surfactants like cocamidopropyl betaine and coco-glucoside. A surfactant molecule contains one end that is hydrophilic (attracted to water) and one end that is lipophilic (attracted to oil). This allows surfactants to attract and suspends oils, dirt, and other impurities that have accumulated on the skin and wash them away, leaving the skin clean.Â
Similar to the Original Face Wash, Bulldog Skincare Original Face Scrub contains the key ingredients Aloe vera leaf juice, camelina seed oil, and green tea leaf extract. Other key ingredients include oat kernel meal, olive seed powder, and sweet almond shell powder. Thus, this scrub is considered to be a physical exfoliant because it utilizes abrasive substances to scrub away dead skin cells through motion. While these ingredients will exfoliate the skin, they can sometimes be too abrasive for the skin, potentially leading to microtears and irritation.
Bulldog Skincare Oil Control Face Mask contains a blend of three natural clays, which provide absorbent effects. These clays can absorb excess oil from the skin’s surface, which can help to reduce shine and give the skin a matte appearance. They also draw out oil, dirt, and other impurities from the pores. One problem with the Oil Control Face Mask is that it contains several ingredients that have the potential to cause irritation, including witch hazel water, fragrance, and alcohol. Fortunately, these ingredients are present in low concentrations, but they still have the potential to cause dryness, irritation, and sensitivity.Â
End of Day Recovery Serum
This is our favourite product in the range, because it contains Rambutan Extract. Rambutan Extract is a natural alternative to retinol. While studies are limited and speak to the ingredients antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is high in vitamin c and a good place to start when it comes to anti aging serums.Â
Age Defence Moisturiser
This is a simple antioxidant rich product that isn’t loaded with too many ingredients. It contains brown algae, which is rich in antioxidants.Â
Sensitive Moisturiser
This is a gentle moisturizer with minimal ingredients. It contains Willowherb, which is known for it’s soothing properties.
