The founders of Brickell Men’s Skincare & Grooming felt that there was a gap in the skincare industry. The brand also offers a number of tailored routines to make creating and maintaining a skincare routine simple and easy. They offer a daily essential skincare routine, a brushless shaving routine and an a more targeted anti-aging skincare routine as well. But what kinds of products can you expect from these ranges?

Starting off with their daily routines, there are three main products that make up both of the daily skincare routines offered by Brickell. These include the Clarifying Gel Face Wash, the Renewing Face Scrub and the Daily Essential Face Moisturizer. The Clarifying Gel Face Wash is an ideal option for those with oily or combination skin types as is helps to remove impurities, dirt, oil to reveal a clearer, brighter complexion. Next up, the Face Scrub was designed to be used every other morning to remove dead skin cells that can accumulate on the surface of your skin. Finally, the Daily Face Moisturizer serves as a lightweight hydrator that was designed to adequately moisturize without clogging your pores.

For shaving, the brand offers two main products including the Smooth Brushless Shave Cream and the Instant Relief Aftershave. The Smooth Brushless Shave Cream was designed to serve as a more efficient shaving cream. Instead of spending time creating the perfect lather, the Smooth Brushless Shave Cream is deliver a smoother, more streamlined shaving experience. Additionally, the Instant Relief Aftershave helps to further soothe the skin and prevent irritation after shaving.

Formula Focus

Looking more closely the formulas behind these products, what better place to start than their core range? For example, the Daily Essential Face Moisturizer starts off with a base of aloe leaf juice, rooibos extract, DMAE, jojoba oil, and green tea extract. Aloe leaf juice is an excellent ingredient to see in the base of a product, especially if it acts as an alternative to water. Aloe leaf juice is a humectant, meaning that it can draw water to the skin, effectively hydrating while still being lightweight. Additionally, aloe leaf juice can be incredibly calming and soothing, making it an excellent option for all skin types, even the most sensitive. Rooibos extract on the other hand, helps to protect and promote healthy skin due to its high level of antioxidants. DMAE is actually a relatively controversial ingredient in skincare, because the results of this ingredient can be fairly mixed. DMAE is a derivative of the B vitamin choline, which in the short-term, can help to increase skin’s firmness. But some studies have found that in the long term, skin firmness can actually decrease instead of increase.

That being said, jojoba oil is an excellent option, especially in moisturizing products. Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax, which most closely resembles the chemical composition of our own sebum. This is great news for those with sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin types, because it lessens the likelihood of clogged pores or irritation, but it may not be enough for those with dry or mature skin types.
