The story behind Verso Skincare
Verso Skincare was launched in 2013 with the goal to provide essential products that effectively target the skin’s daily needs. The brand’s philosophy is to use science as a starting point to formulate high-quality products with a low ingredient count. In this review, we’ll cover a few of the brand’s best selling products, key ingredients, Verso Skincare reviews from real customers, and more.
What are the Best Skin Care Products of 2023?
What are the best selling Verso Skincare products?
Verso Skincare products are categorized according to number, with 10 different categories (Cleanse, Daytime, Nighttime, Boost, Eye, Refine, Oil, Mask, Lip, Hand). Since there are too many products to cover in one review, we’ll focus on three of the best selling Verso Skincare below.
Verso Skincare Hydration Serum
First up is the Verso Skincare Hydration Serum, a hydrating facial serum that is said to fight off signs of aging, dark spots, enlarged pores, free radical damage, and dehydration. This serum can be used by all skin types, even those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Verso Skincare Eye Cream
Verso Skincare Eye Cream is a rich eye cream that is said to strengthen the skin barrier and protect the skin from free radicals, leaving the skin soft, smooth and supple. This eye cream can be used by all skin types, but is ideal for skin that tends to become dry.
Verso Skincare Super Facial Serum
The final best selling Verso Skincare product we’ll discuss is the Super Facial Serum. This is a lightweight serum formulated specifically for mature skin. The Retinol 8 complex (which we’ll discuss in detail below) is said to gently diminish the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots without irritating your skin.
What are the key Verso Skincare ingredients?
There are a few key ingredients that Verso uses throughout their product line, including Retinol 8, Avena sativa (oat) kernel oil, and shea butter. Below we’ll talk about each of these key Verso Skincare ingredients in detail so you’ll know how they may benefit your skin.
Retinol 8
First up is Retinol 8, Verso’s proprietary vitamin A complex, also known as retinyl retinoate. Retinol 8 is a stabilized Vitamin A complex that is eight times more effective than standard retinol (hence the name). It can safely be used during the day and causes less irritation than other retinol ingredients. Once Retinol 8 is absorbed into the skin, it is converted to retinoic acid (the active form). Retinoic acid helps to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating new collagen production, increasing the rate of epidermal cellular turnover, and causing dispersion of melanin granules. Ultimately, Retinol 8 can help to fade dark spots, improve uneven skin tone, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, restore skin firmness, and shrink the appearance of enlarged pores.
Avena sativa (oat) kernel oil
Avena sativa (oat) kernel oil is another key ingredient that can be found in several Verso Skincare products. Oat has been used for centuries as a soothing agent to relieve skin irritations due to its rich supply of fatty acids. Oat kernel oil has a high content of linoleic acid, which improves the protective barrier function of the skin. A strong, intact skin barrier prevents water loss and keeps harmful environmental irritants out of the skin. Oat kernel oil is also rich in antioxidants, such as tocopherols and tocotrienols, which protect the skin’s lipids from damage caused by UV rays. Overall, oat kernel oil has excellent absorption properties, strengthens the skin barrier, moisturizes, and soothes the skin.
Shea butter
The final key ingredient that you can find in many Verso Skincare products is shea butter. Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree. The rich supply of triglycerides and fatty acids in shea butter help to replenish the skin’s natural barrier function. Since shea butter melts at body temperature, it is able to coat the skin and form an occlusive film. This film helps to prevent evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture and increases skin hydration by causing buildup of water in the stratum corneum (the uppermost layer of skin).
Where is Verso Skincare sold?
Verso Skincare products are sold on the brand’s website, as well as third party online sellers such as Amazon and Dermstore. Verso Skincare is also sold at physical locations in Asia, Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Verso has a store locator on their website so you can find a location near you. In the United States, you can find Verso Skincare at high-end department stores such as Barneys New York, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
What is the Verso Skincare return policy?
The Verso return policy states, “If you were to be unsatisfied with your purchase at Verso Skincare online store you are entitled to withdraw your purchase or exchange your product by sending a notice to Verso Skincare within 14 days of the date on which you have received the product. Return product(s) in unused condition accompanied by the original invoice. Returns will only be accepted if labels and original packaging are fully intact and in a resellable condition. The Verso Skincare online store cannot accept returns where labels have been removed or products opened. Refunds for faulty items can be made within the 30-day period following delivery.”
Is Verso Skincare cruelty free?
Verso takes great pride in being cruelty free, and has been since day one.
Verso Skincare reviews
The brand does not display reviews on their website, so we had to turn to Dermstore.com to see what customers really think of these products. Unfortunately, there aren’t many Verso Skincare reviews on Dermstore.com. For example, at the time of writing this article, the Verso Eye Cream has only one customer review, the Super Facial Serum has just eight reviews, and the Hydration Serum has the most with 29 customer reviews.
The best selling Verso Skincare products we introduced above have all received four and five star ratings. Many of these reviews comment on how hydrating the products are and that they absorb quickly and do not leave any greasiness or stickiness. For example, one reviewer shares, “I love this product! I use this after toner and before moisturizer and it does not make my skin oily or feel any residue it just feels moisturized.” But keep in mind that with so few Verso Skincare reviews, it’s hard to get an accurate idea of what customers really think of these products.
What are some alternatives to Verso Skincare?
Overall, we think that the Verso Skincare products contain beneficial ingredients, and we like that the brand has a minimalist approach to their ingredients. But you may be hesitant to try these products due to the lack of Verso Skincare reviews. If so, we’d like to recommend a few alternatives for you to consider.
Interested in all of the benefits of using a retinol product? We’d recommend Formulyst’s Anti-Aging Night Cream with Retinol. Rather than using standard retinol, the formula contains innovative Encapsulated Retinol Technology in order to deliver a higher concentration of retinol to your skin for intense rejuvenation. The Anti-Aging Night Cream with Retinol also helps to lock in moisture and restore the skin’s barrier function with emollients such as safflower oil, squalane, and jojoba oil. Overall, this formula can help to hydrate, soothe, and transform your skin while you sleep.
We also really like Formulyst’s Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream. It’s lightweight and contains a blend of vitamins, amino acids, and minerals to help visibly brighten and smooth the delicate skin in the eye area. Key ingredients in this Formulyst eye cream include quinoa seed extract, caffeine, and butcher’s broom extract. Quinoa seed extract is rich in essential fatty acids that help to restore the skin’s barrier function, which keeps the skin hydrated and soft. Caffeine helps to reduce the amount of blood that accumulates under the eyes (dark circles) while also reducing puffiness. Butcher’s broom extract has astringent and soothing properties. Together, these ingredients help to brighten and smooth the under eye area.
