The story behind Pearlessence Skin Care

Every so often, you find small skin care gems in the strangest places, such as TJ Maxx. You may already know that TJ Maxx sells luxury skin care brands — such as La Prairie, Tatcha, and SK-II — at discounted prices. But one skin care brand you’ve probably never heard of before is called Pearlessence. Known for duping more expensive products in the industry, this brand really appeals to those who love the idea of high-end skincare, but can’t really get behind the high price tag. So today, we’re taking a look at this brand to see if their products can offer comparable results and whether it’s worth checking out.

Pearlessence Review

What are the best selling Pearlessence skin care products?

Pearlessence offers a variety of skin care products, many of which are inspired by the higher end luxury products on the market. For example, their Coconut Water Hydrating Facial Mist offers some of the same key ingredients as more well known products like Herbivore’s Rose Hibiscus Spray or the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. While they are by no means identical, you can expect a similar effect overall.

Along with their facial mists, Pearlessence specializes mostly in beauty oils, serums, and face masks. A few of the best selling Pearlessence skin care products include the Aloe + Charcoal Detoxifying Mask, Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil, and the 24k Gold Peptide Infusion Illuminating Facial Serum.

Who is Pearlessence skin care for?

You may want to give Pearlessence skin care a try if you like the overall idea of simple, effective, naturally-inspired skin care, but don’t have the budget for luxury green beauty. With that said, it’s difficult to know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. Pearlessence does not currently have its own website, nor do they release their ingredients list for every product online. So if you’re prone to reactive skin, we recommend looking out for these products in stores so you can read through the full ingredients list. Make sure the products do not contain ingredients that could cause skin irritation, such as fragrance, essential oils, and high concentrations of denatured alcohol.

What are the key ingredients in Pearlessence Skin Care?

As we mentioned earlier, it’s almost impossible to track down the ingredients list for these products online. However, some Pearlessence skin care products on Amazon show pictures of the back of the label, therefore enabling us to see the full ingredient list. Below we’ll discuss the key ingredients found in the best selling Pearlessence skin care products: Aloe + Charcoal Detoxifying Mask, Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil, and the 24k Gold Peptide Infusion Illuminating Facial Serum.

Pearlessence Review

Pearlessence Aloe + Charcoal Detoxifying Mask is a clay mask that includes activated charcoal and aloe vera leaf juice as key ingredients. Activated charcoal works by trapping toxins and impurities in its millions of tiny pores. Rather than absorbing the toxins, however, activated charcoal works through adsorption (the chemical reaction where elements bind to a surface). Thus, activated charcoal helps to purify and detoxify the skin. Aloe vera leaf juice helps to soothe and hydrate the skin. Lastly, this mask contains two types of natural clays: kaolin and bentonite. These clays both have excellent absorption properties, which means they can absorb excess oil from the pores and help to reduce shine. They also function as gentle abrasives that can exfoliate the top layers of skin, removing any accumulated dead skin cells to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.

Pearlessence Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil contains only four ingredients: soybean oil, rosehip oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), and fragrance. Soybean oil provides strong antioxidant benefits due to the high concentration of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Antioxidants help the skin to combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Rosehip oil is a rich source of beta carotene and all-trans retinoic acid, which both promote regeneration in the outer layers of the skin. This improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. In addition, rosehip seed oil has a high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is known to improve the skin’s barrier function and calm inflammation.

The formulation of Pearlessence 24k Gold Peptide Infusion Illuminating Facial Serum is pretty disappointing because it contains a high concentration of denatured alcohol. While denatured alcohol will help to temporarily degrease oily skin, it can actually increase oiliness over time. Thus, the immediate de-greasing effect is eventually counteracted, prompting your oily skin to look even more shiny and prone to breakouts. Plus, denatured alcohol is well known to cause skin irritation and disruption of the skin barrier. Aside from the high concentration of denatured alcohol, the 24k Gold Peptide Infusion Illuminating Facial Serum features key ingredients like gold and two types of anti-aging peptides.

Pearlessence Reviews

Since Pearlessence does not have its own website, we had to turn to Amazon to evaluate Pearlessence reviews. Most Pearlessence skin care products have received positive reviews. The Pearlessence reviews for the Aloe + Charcoal Detoxifying Mask average to 4.2 out of 5 stars after 53 customer reviews. Positive reviews for this Pearlessence skin care product mention that it helps the skin to feel softer and look brighter. However, there are quite a few negative reviews for this Pearlessence mask that say it can cause a burning sensation after application. For instance, one Pearlessence review says, “I was pretty confident this face mask would work out for me, because I’ve used other rose clay face products in the past. I don’t know what is different about this one but it was a no-go for me. I experienced some pretty intense burning after application. I tried to ride it out but it only got worse. I had to rinse it off well before the suggested amount of time. Thankfully, the burning stopped almost immediately after rinsing it off and there was seemingly no lasting damage to my face. I threw out the rest of the container.”

The Pearlessence reviews for the Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil average to 4.5 out of 5 stars after 165 customer reviews. Positive reviews for this Pearlessence skin care product mention that the oil helps the skin to feel smooth, and that you only need to use a few drops at a time. Many consumers also really like the scent. However, negative reviews point out that the fragrance is too strong and that the product caused sensitivity and breakouts.

The Pearlessence reviews for the 24k Gold Peptide Infusion Illuminating Facial Serum average to 4.3 out of 5 stars after just 10 customer ratings. Positive reviews mention that this serum helps the skin to look and feel moisturized with a healthy glow. For example, one Pearlessence review says, “I love this product! My face has a glow after I use it. It’s light and not greasy and leave my face feeling cool and lightly moisturized.”

What are some alternatives to Pearlessence skin care?

You may be hesitant to try Pearlessence skin care since it’s difficult to find the ingredients used in these products, and because the brand does not even have its own website. Plus, several Pearlessence skin care products contain ingredients that can be irritating to the skin, such as fragrance and denatured alcohol. That’s why we recommend using fragrance free skin care products that maximize the use of active ingredients while minimizing the ingredients that might make you smell and feel nice, but don’t actually work. One brand that does exactly this is Formulyst

If you’re looking for a facial oil, we’d like to recommend Formulyst’s Nourishing Oil. This facial oil contains numerous non-fragrant botanical oils that can help to nourish, moisturize, and protect the skin. For example, Formulyst Nourishing Oil contains plenty of omega-rich oils – including amaranth, olive, macadamia and avocado – which provide the skin with omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9. Additional moisturizing oils include safflower seed oil, argan oil, jojoba seed oil, and coconut oil, just to name a few.

Pearlessence Radiance Perfecting Serum Review

The Pearlessence Radiance Perfecting Serum was designed to serve as a gentle, yet beneficial brightening and glow boosting serum. This budget friendly booster can be a little bit difficult to track down, but for those located in the U.S., you’ll probably be able to find it at places like TJ Maxx or even through Amazon. Looking at the formula for this product, we can see exactly what the different ingredients in the serum do to aid the skin. The bulk of the active ingredients in this formula include hyaluronic acid and shea butter, as well as ascorbic acid. Hyaluronic acid is capable of drawing up to 1000 times its weight in water, which helps to thoroughly hydrate and plump the skin. Shea butter on the other hand acts as both an emollient and an occlusive to soften the skin and condition it. Finally, ascorbic acid, otherwise known as pure vitamin C, has been shown to offer a full range of benefits to the skin, including increased brightness and radiance.

So far, I love this anti aging moisturizer. It’s so light and it smells delightful. I have the kind of skin that hates all kind of creams and lotions, but this one seems to be doing the trick. My skin feels so soft right now, and my acne seems to have improved ever so slightly. Just been using it now for a week, but I truly see an improvement in the texture of my skin in such a short time. Time will tell.

I have only used the charcoal aloe face cleanser. Purchased at TJ Maxx quite a while back, price and look being my two main reasons. I had wanted to try something with charcoal on my face and this price made it “okay” in case it didn’t work. However, it is amazing! I loved it and could not find it anywhere. Hopped online TJ today and found it. Yay! I plan on trying other products from Pearlessence.

My daughters and I use pearlessence products every day and we love them, they are part of our every day skin care system, we found them in tjmaxx and ever since we use them all. We started with the rose water/coconut facial mist , then argan oil, hydrating rose hip serum, face masks etc. Its a great product and very budget friendly.

I love the Pearlessence line. I have 5 products 3 tonic waters and one day and night serums that are absolute addictions. I have east Asian skin with heavey ance scars but these products blur it, calms its nature and I think heals it a bit. I look forward trying the rest of their line.

I am 65 years old and have tried everything in the book! I have been using the coconut rose face mist and love it, I am now empty and would love to find it. I live in Canada. Ok so this is going to sound ? crazy. I have a bottle of the Argan +vitamin e oil. I tried it last night on my nasty wrinkly lips. I woke up this morning and I really don’t see any wrinkles on my lips! I know this sounds crazy but I was a smoker and this is 100% true! I am going to try it on my face, arms and above my knees. I will let you know how it goes. I am not telling my senior friend for a while longer until I see th full results. I am so happy with this product. Please tell me where I can get this in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. Also what other products do you have for seniors. I go to Florida for 6 mths every year but not all my friends are as lucky. Thanks, love your products, please don’t put the prices up as seniors may not be able to afford it!

I was running errands and decided to stop at TJMaxx and since I’m a skin/makeup products freak I went to that section and found a bunch of oils. I LOVE oils so I had to pick up a few of them. I picked up 2 of them: the rosehip oil and the argan + vitamin e oil from Pearl Essence. These oils work amazing for my skin. They are light, super moisturizing, help me with my scars, smell good, softens my skin, brightens it and I also started using Rosehip oil on my eyelashes and it made it grow longer and thicker quickly . Overall, I love those 2 oils and how they’ve been working on my skin. I grabbed a new tonic water with aloe+rose water and I can’t wait to try it.

Me and my daughters just started using “pearlessence” products yesterday. We are very pleased wirh mist and serum. My daughter said that’s after using those her very dry skin is very moisturized now. She tried many products before. I will buy more products if i will find them. I think if the company will keep follow their natural recepies I and my daughters will be their very loyal customers. I want to try more products. Then I can write more detailed review. Thank you for you job.
