What Are The Key Peace Out Skincare Ingredients?
All Peace Out Skincare products combine hydrocolloid polymer technology with active ingredients, inspired by Enrico’s discovery that hydrocolloid bandages were the solution for his acne. Hydrocolloid bandages can help speed healing of blemishes by absorbing pus and oil from the inflamed spot while simultaneously maintaining moisture. Peace Out Acne Dots feature salicylic acid, a type of beta hydroxy acid (BHA). After entering the pore, salicylic acid exfoliates the pore lining, which loosens clogged dirt and oil and helps to wash these impurities away. It also has the ability to dissolve keratin, the protein that acts as a “glue” to keep dead skin cells together in the stratum corneum. This is effective because dead skin cells can build up on the surface of your skin, leaving it looking dull and also possibly clogging pores. Salicylic acid also helps to fight acne through its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. Other key ingredients in Peace Out Acne Dots include aloe vera leaf extract and a vitamin A derivative.
Peace Out Pore strips feature DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol tartrate) as the key ingredient. DMAE is an analog of the B vitamin choline and is a precursor of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. DMAE works by helping the underlying facial muscles to contract, thus tightening the skin and increasing skin firmness. However, research has shown that these results are short-lived and eventually give way to destruction of the substances in skin that help keep it firm. The brand claims that DMAE will help shrink enlarged pores.
Peace Out Dark Spots include three key ingredients: niacinamide, licorice extract, and tranexamic acid. Niacinamide is an excellent skin care ingredient because it has the ability to repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. Licorice root extract is well known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties. But licorice can also provide a considerable skin brightening effect thanks to a component called glabridin. Lastly, tranexamic acid helps to lighten dark spots by inhibiting plasmin, which means that it helps to break down proteins in the skin that contribute to melanin (skin pigment) production. A study in the Journal of Research in Medical Sciences demonstrated that tranexamic acid at a concentration of 3% can work as well as hydroquinone, the gold standard of skin-lightening treatments.
