AngelLift is a brand of anti-aging treatments owned by an Italian facial implant company. The home company manufactures facial implants for facial nerve cases and asymmetrical cosmetic issues. AngelLift has been providing prescription based, surgical implants for more than 10 years. AngelLift Personal, the brand’s over-the-counter (OTC) Dermastrip line, has been available since 2011.

The key products in the AngelLift line are known as AngelLife Dermastrips, a subdermal technology discovery that offers a non-invasive way to lift out lower facial lines and wrinkles. This technology was discovered through nerve damage research. Dermastrips help replace the pressure you lose as your gums naturally recede with age and adds volume under the skin in a natural painless way. As a result of lifting beneath the surface, skin becomes smoother and tighter. AngelLift offers Prescriptive, Professional, and Personal products.
AngelLift Prescriptive is a custom made oral implant that can only be fitted by a certified AngelLift dentist. This lift temporarily attaches to the rear molars and can be worn comfortably all day. You can laugh, talk, smile, and converse without anyone knowing you are wearing it. AngelLift Prescriptive is designed for patients who have asymmetrical (uneven) lower facial issues and is only sold through AngelLift certified dentists.
AngelLift Professional works exactly like AngelLift Personal (Dermastrips), except the Professional line allows you to adjust your lift pressure and is designed to offer some customization to meet your specific facial contours. AngelLift Professional is only sold in select medical spas, resort spas, and medical, dental, and esthetician offices.
AngelLift Personal (Dermastrips) is the brand’s most popular product line. Each patented AngelLift Dermastrip is manufactured from a special surgical grade hydrogel, which is soft, flexible, and hypoallergenic. AngelLift Dermastrips apply even and comfortable lift across the lower face for a more youthful look and lift. Unlike creams, serums, or injections, AngelLift Dermastrips work through safe, soft, continual pressure from under the skin.
AngelLift also offers a facial moisturizer called DermaSome that is recommended to be used in conjunction with Dermastrips. It is an oil-free, preservative-free, fragrance-free lifting moisturizer. Unlike other moisturizers and serums, Dermasome is manufactured through a vacuum process, eliminating the need for oils or preservatives.

AngelLift is said to replace the need for cosmetic injections to lift out lower facial lines and repair lip shape. But how exactly do AngelLift Dermastrips work?
The science behind the AngelLift products is based on pressure.
The concept is similar to how we straighten teeth and expand the palate; continued pressure can completely alter our oral cavity. AngelLift Dermastrips use pressure focused under either lip to provide anti-aging cosmetic effects.
By lifting through pressure, collagen and tissue growth is stimulated. Lower facial volume is achieved or restored, and this volume decreases aging lines and restores lip contours. The longer the pressure is applied, the greater the cosmetic change.
So if the longer your apply the pressure, the better results you’ll get, you may be wondering if you have to wear AngelLift Dermastrips all day. Interestingly, the brand only recommends to wear Dermastrips 10 to 30 minutes per day.
A good time to wear your AngelLift Dermastrips is when you are relaxing, like watching TV, checking your email, reading a book, or bathing. It’s important to note that you should never use Dermastrips if you are drinking, eating, talking or sleeping.
AngelLift Dermastrips will begin to produce visible results within 30 days of use. Of course, the results you see will depend on factors such as your age, the condition of your skin, how well you eat, and many more variables. There are a few specific behaviors that will substantially reduce the effects of Dermastrips, including smoking, straws, hot drinks, and chemical cleansing.
Smoking affects the elasticity of the skin and creates muscle tension around the lower face affecting the look of the lips. Straws can embed muscle memory and create lower facial wrinkles.
Drinking hot liquids like coffee and tea cause a lip pursing effect, which increases muscle tension. Lastly, using facial cleansers that contain either alcohol or soap may reduce the results you see since both have been directly linked to premature aging.
The formulation behind the brand’s facial moisturizer Dermasome includes wheat germ extract, seaweed extract, sunflower extract, and hyaluronic acid. Wheat germ extract contains plenty of beneficial nutrients to restore and soften the skin.
Seaweed extract helps to bind water to the skin and thereby increase skin hydration. Sunflower extract is rich in polyphenols and other types of antioxidants that help the skin combat free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin.
Hyaluronic acid is an exceptional ingredient for adding hydration to the skin. It draws in moisture from the environment and can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Hyaluronic acid may also help to temporarily plump the skin and reduce signs of aging.
AngelLift offers another version of Dermasome called Dermasome Collagen. It has the same formulation as the original Dermasome with the addition of collagen. The brand claims that it provides “the benefits of collagen to help lift and firm skin”. However, this is not accurate. It’s true that collagen is responsible for keeping the skin strong and firm, but topical application of collagen does not result in anti-aging effects.
Collagen is a very large, complex protein with a molecular weight around 15,000 to 50,000 dalton molecules. This means that the collagen protein is too large to penetrate the upper layers of skin because of the 500 Dalton Rule. The 500 Dalton Rule states that the molecular weight of a compound must be under 500 dalton to allow skin absorption.
Ultimately, this means that topically applied collagen will not make your skin firmer or supplement any loss of collagen that occurs with age. Rather, the collagen protein will sit on top of the skin and provide moisturization, but that’s about it.
