If there is one thing that La Mer is most well known for, its their moisturizers. Their iconic Creme De La Mer continues to be one of the best selling moisturizing creams on the market today, even with their premium price tag. But what is the secret to their success? Today, we’re going to be looking into their Moisturizing Soft Cream to bring you all the details on their skincare philosophy, formula and ingredients, so you can decide for yourself whether the brand is worth investing in. So without further adieu, let’s get started!

Who Is The Moisturizing Soft Cream For?

The Moisturizing Soft Cream from La Mer was designed to suit most skin types, but these are a number of factors that make this cream especially suitable for certain skin concerns. While this cream is lightweight, the formula is designed to be especially moisturizing, making this an excellent option for those who struggle with dehydration, but sometimes find thick creams to be too heavy for regular use, this may be an excellent option. Additionally, La Mer’s unique Moisturizing Spheres help to smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores, so this product may also serve you well as a day time priming moisturizer.

La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream

The Soft Cream from La Mer was designed to perform just as well as their iconic Creme De La Mar, but with a formula that was just a bit lighter. While there are thousands of people who love and use Creme De La Mar without issue, there are some that can find it to be a tad too heavy for their skin.

The Moisturizing Soft Cream also utilizes some of the same technologies that we see in Creme De La Mer, including the Miracle Broth, the Lime Tea Concentrate and the Moisturizing Spheres. But what do all of these blends actually do, and how can they benefit your skin?

Starting off with their Moisturizing Spheres, this technology was designed to serve several different purposes. These Microscopic spheres of moisture are actually suspended in gel capsules to deliver deeper hydration. Additionally, this technology also features a fine powder surrounding each capsule, which creates a mattifying effect when applied to the skin.

Moving on to their Miracle Broth, this complex blend of vitamins and minerals is at the heart of almost every single formulation from La Mer. This elixir is created using hand-harvested giant sea kelp as well as other nutrient dense ingredients. Once the formula has been assembled, this blend is then fermented to further increase its potency. The entire process takes around three to four months to complete, and can help with everything from moisture loss, sensitivity, dullness and crepiness to dealer a smoother, more hydrated appearance.

Finally, the Lime Tea Concentrate serves as an antioxidant blend that protects the skin from environmental stressors, pollution and free radical damage. All of these can further stress and damage the skin which can lead to premature ageing, dullness and increased sensitivity. All together, these three components create a moisturizer that stands above the crowd for it’s efficacy and creativity.

Formula Focus

Like many of the products within the La Mar skincare range, the ingredients list is quite extensive and filled to the brim with interesting ingredients and blends. Starting off with the base of this formula, the first five ingredients include algae extract, cyclopentasiloxane, petrolatum, glyceryl distearate, phenyl trimethicone and butylene glycol. It’s worth noting that water is actually surprisingly low on the ingredients list, despite the fact that it is frequently the first ingredient found in most skincare products, meaning that you’ll probably find this to be a fairly rich and potent product. Algae extract is actually the first ingredient in this formula, and is also the main ingredient in their Miracle Broth technology. Cyclopentasiloxane is a conditioning agent, as well as a delivery enhancer, which helps to ensure that all of the beneficial ingredients will be absorbed completely into the skin. Petrolatum, although it can be controversial for some, can also serve as the best occlusive for others, which helps to seal in all of the hydrating ingredients. Finally, glyceryl distearate, phenyl trimethicone and butylene glycol all act mainly as skin conditioners and lightweight moisturizers.

Looking a little closer at the other beneficial ingredients that are contained within this formula, we have beneficial botanical ingredients include shea butter and sesame seed oil to moisturizer, as well as more unique ingredients like sunflower seed cake, alfalfa seed powder, sweet almond seed meal, sesame seed powder and soybean seed extract.

How To Use The La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream

According to the Brand’s website, the best way to use this product is to pat a small amount of the Soft Cream in between the fingertips to release the miracle broth and effectively activate this ingredient. After patting together, apply the Moisturizing Soft Cream by pressing gently into skin after cleansing.
