Kiehl’s Review

SKIN CARE REVIEWS

11.19.22DISCLAIMER

If you have ever walked into a Kiehl’s shop, a few things may have caught your eye in addition to the neat rows of clinical looking products. Every Kiehl’s boutique has a motorcycle as well as a resident skeleton, and the white-coat wearing staffers are more than happy to give you generous amounts of samples. Here’s a closer look at the origins of this popular brand, Kiehl’s skincare products, and is it right for you?

What Is Kiehl’s?

Kiehl’s started as an apothecary in 1851, with a location on Third Avenue and 13th Street in New York – that location is still the company’s flagship store. Irving Morse, owner John Kiehl’s apprentice, is credited with expanding what the pharmacy sold to include teas, herbs and Kiehl’s branded products, such as Original Musk Oil. Over the years Kiehl’s became known for its “try before you buy” motto and for listing its ingredients on the products, which was considered unusual at the time. Irving’s son, Aaron Morse, took the company in a new direction by creating products such as Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner, Blue Astringent Lotion, Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, and Ultra Facial Moisturizers, which are all still sold today. The company grew by word of mouth as it has never advertised, and Kiehl’s made headlines for sponsoring the 1988 Mount Everest Expedition, where the climbers took several Kiehl’s products along on their journey. In 2000, Kiehl’s was sold to L’Oreal, which also owns Lancôme, Maybelline and Urban Decay.

Today there are over 250 Kiehl’s stores worldwide. And yes, in addition to those text-heavy labels on the products, there is a motorcycle in every single Kiehl’s store thanks to Aaron Morse, who dispersed his personal collection of motorcycles among all the company’s stores. And the skeleton? That was Morse’s idea too, who decorated the New York flagship with books on biology as well as a skeleton to engage customer’s curiosity.

Crème de Corps is a thick body lotion with the consistency of buttercream frosting, and contains shea butter and beta-carotene.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate is an evening facial oil containing lavender essential oil, evening primrose oil and squalane.

What Ingredients Are in Kiehl’s Products?

Kiehl’s products are formulated with plenty of botanical extracts, and the company says that 95% of its formulas contain at least one natural or natural origin raw material. Ingredients include jasmonic acid, which is secreted by plants and thought to help reduce wrinkles; beech tree extract, thought to improve skin’s firmness, the antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E and turmeric; as well as coconut oil and cocoa butter. Many Kiehl’s products contain commonly used skincare ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, which holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, and caffeine, a stimulant that helps reduce puffiness around the eyes.

Is Kiehl’s Cruelty Free?

Kiehl’s is owned by L’Oréal, and according to the company, L’Oréal “does not test any of its products or any of its ingredients on animals and has been at the forefront of alternative methods for over 30 years.”

Where Can I Buy Kiehl’s Products?

Kiehl’s products are sold at its stand alone stores, as well as department stores including Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Barneys, Macy’s and Nordstrom. It is also sold at Sephora and online at Walmart.

How Much Do Kiehl’s Products Cost?

Kiehl’s products are priced at a mid-range level that are more expensive than drugstore products but would not be the priciest at a department store. The Ultra Facial Cream sells for $30, and Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner is priced at $21. The Amino Acid Shampoo is $20, and Nurturing Baby Cream is $19. Lip Balm #1 retails for $9.50. One of the most expensive products is the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate, at $78.

Do Kiehl’s Products Work?

When trying to decide if a product works, it’s important to keep in mind that everyone’s skin may react differently to the same product. One cream that leaves a person with glowing, refreshed looking skin may cause breakouts in another person, or do nothing at all, so a little trial and error is always needed when finding the right products for yourself.

That said, Kiehl’s has been around for a long time with plenty of devoted customers and has also won many industry awards. The Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask scooped up an Elle International Beauty Award in 2018, and the Ultra Facial Cleanser won an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2011; the magazine gave the same award to the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye in 2013. Oprah and plenty of supermodels have declared their love for Crème de Corps, and the company says it has been best-seller for four decades, with an average of 1.5 containers of the cream selling every minute.

Dig into the reviews on Sephora, and they are largely positive, with most products garnering 4-5 stars and 20,000 “loves.” The Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado gets 4.3 stars, with reviewers praising its hydrating properties – “I have major dark circles. I’ve been using this eye cream for years. Whenever I try something new to experiment my under eyes beg for it back. Its luxurious and creamy on application and it mixes really well with concealer, keeping your eyes hydrated ALL DAY.” Those who didn’t like it said it was too thick or simply didn’t work for them– “very thick and hard blend on skin.”

The Ultra Facial Moisturizer gets 3.8 stars and over 3,000 loves.

Skin got significantly worse after starting Kiehl’s – started breaking out all the time and skin became splotchy etc. – all stopped as soon as I stopped using their skincare products and just washing with water which is a bit of an oops. Their hydrating gel should be rebranded as a dehydrating gel – sucked all moisture out of my face unfortunately

I have been using the products cleanser, dark spot correction serum, moisture and scrubber since May as suggested for acne and dark spots. It’s been 4 months but no changes at all. I have been facing more acne problems. The dark spot solution is of no use. I would not suggest it at all.

Kiehl’s review –I had use Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream in the past no problem. I ran out and moved on to using a different eye product. 12. 21 got a mailer with a 30 % discount. I reordered the eye cream. This time I reacted badly and broke out around the eye area which was odd. Called about returning the product since they supposedly have a 100% refund policy . Someone answered their CS line but gave me crazy wrong information. Was told I’d get an email to move refund forward . A week later nothing. Called again and spoke with a different CS person who said–sure send it back but you pay shipping. That is not a 100% refund policy _IF_ customer pays return shipping. Most other retailers spell out their return policy clearly. No where on the website does it detail HOW returns move forward. I think their policy is not transparent. I wrote pretty much the same review on the product page and they refused to publish it. Their are better products and certainly companies devoted to much higher levels of customer service. Will never buy Kiehl’s again.

I have used Kiehl’s products for over 20 years and I love the products. I decided I would order on-line this time. I spent the better part of an evening carefully selecting my products. My total purchase totaled about $390.00. When I did not receive a confirmation, I called Kiehl’s to check on my order. I was told my order “failed”. I was given no explanation of why the order failed. Needless to say, I am more than dissatisfied with this experience. Complete disregard for a long term customer is an egregious violation of good customer relations.

I found a tiny bug with legs on in my rosewater toner it was so disgusting!!!
I contacted the customer service as concerned about their hygiene problems and trying to get it sorted but seems like no one cares, the customer service is the worst I’ve experienced in my life. I left a review on their website and they deleted it because it was a bad review and the truth which they don’t want people to know about! So disgusted after 4 years shopping with them and please AVOID this company, if you have any troubles with the order I suggest you phone your bank to report the scam, get your money back that way rather then have a hope for them!

I’m very very disappointed about Kiehl’s Vitamin C Eye Serum.
It’s almost three months that I’m using this serum however, there is NO result under my eyes and moreover, my eyelid started feeling itchy and red. This is very annoying and I don’t recommend this product to anyone!!!

Never, ever buy a gift card from Kiehl’s! I purchased a gift card in store and a few months later, tried to use it to make a purchase at the same store that the card was purchased.. The store manager told me that there was a 0 balance on the card despite that it was evident that the card had not been used (the rub-off strip with code was intact) and I produced the original receipt for card purchase. She believed that an error occurred when they loaded the card, however, I was advised that only the corporate office could resolve the issue. At my request, the manager sent a photocopy of the card and my receipt to Kiehl’s corporate office and she assured me that the problem would be resolved in 7-10 days. I never heard back. I called the corporate office customer service and no progress had been made toward restoring the card. I was told it would take time for the gift card investigation team to make a determination and that they were backlogged with many requests. So I called once every other week to follow up. After 2 months, I finally received a call from customer service that I could return to the original store and reclaim my card. My advice is to NEVER purchase a gift card at Kiehl’s. If there is ever a problem, it may take a great effort and time to resolve. Needless to say, I used the card the same day and will not be returning.

Hi everyone! Kiehl’s Addict here as well!
Thanks for the review, I found some products I’ve never tried and that I’ll definitely get some samples of (to start) this brand has never disappointed and like you said might be pricey but worthy because they’re lasting and honestly my skin has never been so even, bright, hydrated and good-looking, it has even helped with the texture which I never even thought possible.
I do have a question for you guys: do you know how Kiehl’s employees’ rewards or goals work? I’ll explain further, so today I walked into my usual boutique and a representative approached me, I was only looking to buy a new toner because I ran out. I got the calendula one as my skin tends to be reddish and the calendula mask has worked like magic for me. But the employee said that she would advise for me to get the cucumber one instead, she went on about how it would fulfill my needs better and so on. And so I got the cucumber one because I’m weak. And now I’m sitting at home wondering if that was an honest, truthful advise or if she only sold me that one because she had to, to meet a goal or to reach an objective. I guess the overall question is: can Kiehl’s employees really be trusted to give imparcial advise? Thanks for your answers!

Have ordered their creamy mango moisturizer , which I tried before in samples. The product arrived with the chemical smell, not even close to what I have tried before from Samples. Send them an email to customer service notifying of strange chemical smell . Got a courtesy auto-response and absolutely no follow up after that. Bought it in Beginning of December. Now it s a mid of January . Still no reply . Bad service. The company does not care about standards not in the production not in customer care.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque Review

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is a pore minimizing mask for oily and normal skin that is said to help unclog pores and smooth skin texture. This mask contains Amazonian White Clay (kaolin), which has excellent absorption properties. After being applied to the skin, kaolin helps remove excess oil and dead skin that can clog pores. Kaolin also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce redness and swelling around existing blemishes. When you wash off the mask, kaolin also functions as a gentle abrasive to exfoliate the skin. Additional oil-absorbing ingredients in this mask include bentonite (another type of natural clay) and corn starch.

There are other beneficial ingredients in Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque, such as Aloe vera leaf juice, oat kernel flower, and allantoin. However, these ingredients are present in very low concentrations (less than 1%). We know this by looking at the ingredient list (which is in order of descending concentrations). All of these ingredients are listed after the preservative phenoxyethanol, which cannot be used in concentrations more than 1%.

    Kiehl's Calendula Toner Review

If you’re looking for an oldy but a goodie, look no further than the Kiehl’s Calendula Toner. This fan favorite has been a part of the Kiehl’s product line since the 1960’s, and has been in production for nearly 60 years. This cult classic has been specially formulated to highlight the healing and soothing properties of their hand-picked calendula flower petals. Aside from this ingredient, the formula also contains other beneficial botanical extracts like great burdock root. Unlike other western-style toners on the market with similar longevity, this product is completely alcohol free, making it a great option for those with sensitive or dry skin types, as well as those with normal to oily skin types. Additionally, this product is actually incredibly multi-purpose and can double as a gentle cleanser when applied with a cotton pad to remove leftover dirt and debri that can accumulate throughout the day. In order to get the best results from this type of product, we recommend applying it after cleansing. This helps to make sure that you’ve cleansed thoroughly, and also rebalances your skin’s pH. Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter Review

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter is a rich, air-whipped body butter that absorbs quickly, feels light on the skin, and provides 24-hour hydration. It is enriched with shea butter, jojoba butter, soy milk, and honey. Shea butter is the natural fat obtained from the nuts of the African shea tree. When applied to the skin, shea butter is known to help defend against dehydration, restore suppleness, and improve the appearance of dry skin. Jojoba butter is refined from jojoba oil, the oil extracted from the seeds of the desert shrub, Simmondsia Chinensis. Honey functions as a natural emollient to smooth and soften the skin, while providing nourishment due to its rich composition of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Honey also has anti-acne, anti-aging, and skin-repairing benefits.

    Kiehl's Age Defender Review

If you’re looking for an anti-aging treatment to specifically target fine lines and wrinkles, you may want to check out the Kiehl’s. Kiehl's Hydro Plumping Re Texturizing Serum Concentrate Review

If you’re looking for a lightweight hydrator to boost the efficacy of your current moisturizer, you may want to look into the Kiehl’s Hydro Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate. This product was designed to serve as a moisturizing, hydrating serum. But like other hydrating serums on the market, this product from Kiehl’s offers a little more heft. Most hydrating serums contain large quantities of humectants, which draw water onto and into the skin. The Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate is no different in this aspect, and has a large percentage of glycerin contained in this formula. But without a proper occlusive, these humectants can actually further dry your skin. To combat this, the Kiehl’s Hydro Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate contains a few variants of silicones, which act as occlusives to keep moisture on the skin. Although dimethicone and other silicones often get a bad wrap, they can actually be great ingredients to trap water in the skin. That being said, if you know you’re sensitive to silicones, this product is probably not the best option for you.

Kiehl's Nightly Refining Micro Peel Concentrate Review

When most of us think about chemical peels, we often think about high percentage actives that can do a ton of good, but if used incorrectly, can do a ton of bad as well. The Kiehl’s team wanted to take the iconic chemical peel and give it a little bit of a lift. The result was the Kiehl’s Nightly Refining Micro Peel Concentrate. This product combines a number of key active ingredients that were designed to resurface the skin without unnecessarily stripping or drying out the skin. That being said, you won’t find the traditional trio of exfoliating acids including lactic, glycolic and salicylic in this product. Instead, the Kiehl’s Nightly Refining Micro Peel Concentrate utilizes sustainably sourced quinoa husk extract, cactus extract and phytic acid. Quinoa husk extract and phytic acid act as the main exfoliants in this formula, which work to remove dead skin cells and brighten up the overall complexion. Cactus fruit extract on the other hand is packed with antioxidants which help to protect and reinforce the skin against environmental stressors.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm Review

If you’re looking for an extra nourishing addition to your routine, you may want to check out the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm. This product was designed to serve as a daily facial moisturizer for those with dry to extra dry skin types. With a rich, balm like consistency, this product contains a variety of emollient and occlusive plant oils and butters, which help to protect and soften the skin. Additionally, this formula also contains Edelweiss flower extract, which helps to strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier and improve barrier function. It is often the case that those with extra dry and sensitive skin types often have a damaged skin barrier. This damaged skin barrier can cause a variety of problems for the skin including severe dryness, increased irritation, more breakouts and blemishes. By repairing the skin’s barrier, this product helps to bring dry skin back into balance so that it can begin to regulate its levels of hydrate and moisture on its own.

Kiehl's Youth Dose Eye Treatment Review

If you’re looking for a gentle yet potent retinol product for the under eye area specifically, you may want to check out the Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment. This product was designed to smooth and brighten the delicate skin under the eye by reducing the appearance of fine lines and dark circles overtime. The formula behind this product also features a trio of active ingredients including pro-retinol, vitamin C and grape seed extract. Starting off with pro-retinol, this moniker refers to the ingredient retinyl palmitate. This retinol ester is one of the weakest retinol options available, but this does present some advantages. A weaker form of retinol is going to by nature produce much less irritation, which is why it’s commonly used for the sensitive skin under the eye. Vitamin C and grape seed extract on the other hand help to brighten the area as well as add some extra protection due to the antioxidants that are found in both ingredients.

    INGREDIENTS

Kiehl's Youth Dose Eye Treatment Review

Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment is an anti-aging eye cream that is said to instantly brighten the eye area and help reduce the appearance of under-eye lines and dark circles over time. It has a lightweight, creamy texture that absorbs quickly. One of the key ingredients found within this eye cream is Pro-retinol. Pro-retinol, also known as retinyl palmitate, is the the ester of retinol (vitamin A) combined with palmitic acid, a saturated fatty acid. After its absorption into the skin, retinyl palmitate is converted to retinol, and ultimately to retinoic acid (the active form of vitamin A). Then, retinoic acid interacts with receptors to increase the production of procollagen and functions to block the release of inflammatory mediators. In addition, retinoic acid is a potent antioxidant that can protect the skin from free radical damage. Ultimately, this means that the Pro-retinol in Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restore skin firmness.

Another key ingredient in the Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment is ascorbyl glucoside, a stable form of vitamin C. After being absorbed into the skin, ascorbyl glucoside is broken down into L-ascorbic acid (the active form of vitamin C). Vitamin C has the ability to improve radiance and skin texture while diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet. Lastly, the Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment contains grape seed extract, a rich source of polyphenols that help to brighten the skin and visibly reduce dark circles.

Kiehl's Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate Review

Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate is a calmative facial oil formulated for problem skin, including skin prone to blemishes, visible redness, and discomfort. It is said to calm the feeling of stressed skin, strengthen the skin’s barrier, reduce redness, and balance hydration. This oil is formulated with 100% naturally derived ingredients, such as hemp-derived cannabis sativa seed oil and green oregano oil.

Cannabis sativa seed oil is an extremely nourishing oil that can benefit all skin types, especially those with oily or acne prone skin. This is because cannabis sativa seed oil helps to balance oil production and will not clog pores. It also provides long-lasting moisturization and calms irritated skin. Green oregano oil is used in this Kiehl’s facial oil because of its purifying effects. There are several compounds in green oregano oil that have effective antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. In addition to these active ingredients, the Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate contains several fragrance compounds, including citral, citronellol, geraniol, linalool, and limonene. While these plant-derived compounds impart a pleasant fragrance, they are known to be potent skin sensitizers in some people.

Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Cream Review

If you’re looking to target more than one skin concern, but would like to minimize the amount of products in your routine, you may want to check out the Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Cream. This product aims to tackle some of the most prevalent anti-aging skin concerns including dehydration, dryness, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. The key ingredients behind this formula include jasmonic acid, beech tree extract and hyaluronic acid. Jasmonic acid was inspired by the signal molecules that plants secrete as a method of self defense, but in skincare, this product helps to restore skin’s elasticity and boost collagen production. Beech tree extract on the other hand has been shown to increase skin’s firmness, while also working to plump the skin. Finally, hyaluronic acid is an incredibly popular ingredient in skincare which possesses the unique ability to draw up to 1,000 times its weight in water. All together, this product would be an excellent addition to your skincare routine if you’re looking to target the most common signs of aging without using harsher, more intense actives.

    Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanse Review

If you’re looking for a workhorse cleanser that removes impurities without stripping the skin, you may want to look into the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. This product is one of the original best sellers from Kiehl’s and has been a mainstay for many beauty gurus over the years. Because this product was designed to suit all skin types and cleanse gently, the ingredients list behind this product is actually relatively minimal. The main ingredients within this formula include gentler surfactants to create a lather, as well as a number of plant oils to offset any potential for dryness. The main plant oils used in this product include apricot kernel oil, squalane and vitamin E. Each of these work with the formula to nourish the skin, soften the skin’s surface and deliver a solid dose of hydration. Because of these ingredients and the overall formula, we would recommend this product to those of you who are looking for a gentle, pH balanced formula, but still want to experience that satisfying lather and foam.

    Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate Review

If you’re a fan of the legendary Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, you may want to check out its daytime double, the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate. This is one of the newer releases from Kiehl’s, but a big hit nonetheless. Like the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, the main actives behind the Daily Reviving Concentrate are actually a blend of essential oils. In this particular formula, the essential oils of grapefruit, coriander, orange and ginger have been included. Ginger in particular is incredibly antioxidant rich, which helps to protect the skin from environmental damage caused by free radicals. This environmental damage, although not immediately evident, can be one of the primary causes of premature aging. The essential oils in this formula are also housed in a base of plant oils including sunflower oil as well as tamanu oil. Sunflower oil is an excellent skin softening oil that is lightweight and fast absorbing, while tamanu oil has actually been recommended as a treatment for those with hyperpigmentation caused by age spots or acne scars. Additionally, since this product does come in an oil base, the Daily Reviving Concentrate can actually be quite versatile depending on your skincare routine and personal preferences.

If you’re looking for a face mask that does not dry, sensitize or irritate the skin, you may want to check out the Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydrating Masque. This mask will help to elevate any signs of irritation including dryness, peeling, redness and even inflammatory acne. The two key ingredients in this formula include calendula and aloe vera gel, which helps to give this product its beneficial properties as well as it’s unique gel texture. Aloe vera on the other hand can be beneficial for almost all skin types, as it can help to hydrate and soothe the skin. Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution Review

The Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution was designed to be a highly effective spot corrector that brightens the skin, increases radiance and boosts clarity. According to the brand, this product can help with dark spots caused by age and sun exposure, and utilizes vitamin C, white birch extract and peony extract to deliver these results. Vitamin C is one of the most popular ingredients in products that target hyperpigmentation as it helps to brighten the skin and lighten dark spots. White birch extract is an ingredient derived from sugar that helps to restore hydration and important nutrients to the skin. Finally, peony extract has been used in chinese medicine for centuries, and also acts as a potent antioxidant that protects against the oxidative damage that can actually make dark spots worse. In addition to these star ingredients, there are a few additional actives such as salicylic acid which help to exfoliate and brighten the skin. Additionally, this product does contain denatured alcohol as a primary ingredient in the base of this product, so if you have extra dry skin, this may not be the best option for you.

    Kiehl's Moisturizer

Kiehl’s Moisturizer Overview If you’ve been looking for a new cream to add to your skin care routine, you may have come across several Kiehl’s moisturizer products during your search. The company carries a variety of moisturizing items, like face moisturizers, moisturizing gels, and salves. Having such a large selection of Kiehl’s moisturizer products can make it difficult to find the best cream for your skin, but if you focus on specific problems you’d like to address, and study the ingredients, you’ll be less likely to make a mistake and waste your money. For example, some Kiehl’s moisturizer products have SPF protection and focus on plumping up skin with natural ingredients like hyaluronic acid and apricot kernel oil. Other moisturizers under this brand aim to tighten skin through collagen production by using ingredients like Copper and Calcium peptides. Keep in mind that before making a purchase, it’s always a good idea to speak to your dermatologist. Kiehl’s products are not incredibly expensive, but if you only rely on Kiehl’s moisturizer reviews online to make your purchasing decision, you may be exposing yourself to unexpected allergies and other side effects.

    Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream

If you’re looking for a Kiehl’s moisturizer to get rid of wrinkles, this cream may be a viable option to produce results over the long term. This is because the cream doesn’t just add immediate moisture, but seeks to change your skin’s foundation. Ingredients like Copper PCA and Calcium PCA in this Kiehl’s moisturizer work by stimulating collagen production and slowing collagen degradation. By strengthening collagen fibers, the cream aims to increase skin elasticity, which increases skin resiliency and should theoretically reduce the appearance of wrinkles. At $52 for 2.5 ounces, this Kiehl’s moisturizer is affordable for most individuals, and also provides basic SPF protection.

    Kiehl's Creme De Corps Review

There are few body lotions that are as well known as the Kiehl’s Creme De Corps. Because of the huge success of the original product launch, the brand has since expanded the Creme De Corps product into an entire body collection, with different products to suit different skin types and preferences. Today there are five different products in the Creme De Corps, including the original lotion. There is also a whipped body butter, a body oil, a body polish and body cleanser. Creme De Corps first gained fame for its incredibly nourishing texture and consistency, as well as for its comforting sense of vanilla and almonds. The texture of this formula is thanks in part to a number of key ingredients including cocoa butter, beta-carotene and squalane. These ingredients each offer something different, but all work together to deliver hydration and moisture that lasts throughout the day. Although the range has since been expanded, all of the products in the Creme De Corps line still care the same trio of star ingredients as well as that iconic vanilla and almond scent.

    Kiehl’s Eye Fuel Review

Kiehl’s Eye Fuel is a men’s eye cream that is said to visibly reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes. It is a lightweight formula that provides weightless hydration for cooling, refreshing relief. One of the key active ingredients in Kiehl’s Eye Fuel is caffeine. As a natural stimulant, caffeine causes vasoconstriction (constriction of the blood vessels) when applied to the skin. This function aids in reducing the amount of blood that accumulates under the eyes, which is a major factor that contributes to dark circles. Additionally, vasoconstriction can firm the skin due to the removal of excess fluids and possible stimulation of the lymphatic drainage system.

Kiehl’s Eye Fuel is also infused with niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that is known to help brighten skin. Niacinamide has a small molecular weight, which allows it to easily penetrate the skin’s surface. After being absorbed, niacinamide exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging effects, as well as improves the skin barrier function. In addition to these active ingredients, Kiehl’s Eye Fuel also contains several silicones, such as dimethicone and PEG-10 dimethicone. Silicones allow this eye cream to spread easily across the skin’s surface and also impart a light, silky feel to the skin.

Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions Centella Cica Cream Review

Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions Centella Cica Cream is a hypoallergenic facial moisturizer designed to moisturize, protect, and repair sensitive skin. It is said to visibly reduce skin redness and dry fine lines after 3 days of use. It is clinically-demonstrated to help repair the moisture barrier of compromised skin based on an instrumental test of the skin barrier and clinical grading in an 8-week study.

The term “cica” in this product’s name is actually short for Centella asiatica, a plant that has been used for centuries in traditional Asian medicine. Centella asiatica extract is a rich source of natural bioactive substances, including asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid, and madecassic acid. Research has found that these compounds can enhance moisturization, calm inflammation, and stimulate collagen synthesis after topical application. Another key active ingredient in the Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions Centella Cica Cream is D-Panthenol, also known as provitamin B5. D-Panthenol functions as a moisturizer and humectant. A humectant attracts moisture in the air nearby via absorption and draws that moisture into the skin’s surface. Thus, D-Panthenol can help to alleviate dry skin by providing moisturization.

Kiehl's Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream Review

Kiehl’s Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream is a lightweight face cream that is said to soften skin immediately with lasting 24-hour hydration, help improve uneven texture, visibly even skin tone and boost radiance in just one week, and help visibly reduce redness in just two weeks. This cream is infused with the brand’s Calendula Serum that contains concentrated Calendula flower extract and hundreds of micronized Calendula petals. However, there is actually less than 1% Calendula extract in this cream. We know this by looking at the ingredient list (which is in order of descending concentrations). Calendula extract is listed after the preservative phenoxyethanol, which cannot be used in concentrations more than 1%. Despite the low amount of Calendula extract in this formula, Kiehl’s Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream does contain a few beneficial ingredients. For example, it contains two highly effective humectants: glycerin and panthenol (provitamin B5). A humectant is a hygroscopic substance that has a molecular structure with several hydrophilic (water loving) groups. This structure allows humectants to attract moisture and draw that moisture into the upper layers of skin, thereby improving hydration. Kiehl’s Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream also contains a decent amount of bisabolol. Bisabolol is a natural monocyclic sesquiterpene alcohol that is a major component of the essential oil derived from German chamomile (Matricaria recutita). Bisabolol has anti-inflammatory, skin-soothing, and healing properties. Bisabolol is also a potent antioxidant. Antioxidants work by neutralizing free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the sk

How Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream Treats the Skin

One of the most common causes of wrinkles is a loss of elastin and collagen in the skin, the proteins that give it its ability to snap back into place when manipulated and that give it its firmness. Over time, skin loses these proteins and skin begins to wrinkle and sag. This is especially true of facial skin, which tends to show signs of aging sooner than on other parts of the body. Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream is formulated to protect the skin’s collagen and keep it from losing its integrity. This cream also contains a broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen that protects the skin from free radicals contained in UV light, as these free radicals is one of the main factors in the cause of premature aging. If you are concerned about how the ingredients in Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream will affect your skin, speak with your dermatologist before you make your purchase.
