According to the brand, Field of Greens offers benefits like boosting your immune system, supporting your metabolism, and getting natural sources of vitamins and minerals.

This sounds great in theory, but to discover if Field of Greens lives up to these claims, we’ll have to evaluate the formulation details. 

That’s exactly what we’ll do below in our Field of Greens review. Keep reading to learn more about the ingredients in Field of Greens, the potential benefits of this supplement, whether or not there’s any questionable additives, and more.

One problem with proprietary blends is that the brand only lists the total weight of the blend per serving, but never the proportions of each ingredient. Why does this matter? Essentially, you could be wasting your money on a formula that does not have adequate quantities of the key ingredients.

Organic Greens Blend 

Like most greens supplements, this blend consists of ingredients like spinach, kale, broccoli, and several more vegetables, as well as algae extracts like spirulina and chlorella. 

It’s true that greens like spinach, kale, and broccoli contain nutrients such as vitamins, phenolic acids, carotenoids, and flavonoids. 

However, most people aren’t aware that these vegetables also contain anti-nutrients. 

For instance, spinach and kale contain oxalates, which can bind to minerals like calcium in the kidneys and form calcium oxalate kidney stones – the most common type of kidney stone.

Broccoli contains glucosinolates and goitrogens. These antinutrients can prevent the absorption of iodine, which may then interfere with thyroid function and cause goiter.

In our opinion, these greens are far from “superfoods”!

The ingredients that we approve of in this blend include spirulina and chlorella, which are both forms of algae that have been extensively studied for their potential health benefits. 

For example, these blue-green algae can detoxify heavy metals, improve white blood cell function, reduce cholesterol, and improve endurance.

Organic Prebiotic Fiber

The prebiotic in Field of Greens is inulin, a type of non-digestible fiber that benefits the body by feeding the beneficial bacteria in the gut.

A 2020 systematic review examined the impact of inulin on gut microbial composition through a review of human studies. In these studies, participants consumed 2g to 20g of inulin daily. The results of the studies revealed a substantial positive effect on the human gut microbiome.

Based on the Nutrition Facts label, it appears that Field of Greens contains 2 grams of fiber, which is low but still an adequate amount. 

Organic Antioxidant Reds Blend 

Aside from beet root powder, this blend mostly consists of fruits, including strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, tart cherry, pomegranate, and cranberry. 

Just as the name suggests, these fruits are rich in antioxidants that help the body by neutralizing harmful free radicals and protecting cells from damage. Therefore, these antioxidants may support overall health, immune function, and potentially reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Unlike greens, the fruits that are used in the Antioxidant Reds Blend do not contain anti-nutrients, so we approve of this blend. 

However, the one problem we noticed was the lack of transparency regarding the doses in this proprietary blend, leaving us with no way to tell how much of each ingredient is used. 

Given the multitude of ingredients, there’s a reasonable concern that the dosage of each may be relatively low. This leaves us questioning whether or not the dosages of ingredients in this formula will actually provide the intended benefits. 

Organic Metabolic Blend 

The metabolic blend consists of ginger, licorice, turmeric, and green tea powder. Together, these ingredients should help to increase your metabolism — and there’s evidence to back up these claims. 

For instance, a pilot study published in the journal Metabolism demonstrated that ginger consumption enhanced thermogenesis and reduced feelings of hunger. 

A 2023 publication in the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine explains that “Ginger and turmeric affect energy metabolism using mechanisms related to thermal effect, BMR, total energy expenditure, oxygen consumption, and lipid oxidation.” 

Green tea has been extensively studied for its role in weight management, and while some studies show that green tea can help with weight loss, the amount of weight lost in the studies is typically small. 

For example, a publication in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews states, “Green tea preparations appear to induce a small, statistically non-significant weight loss in overweight or obese adults. Because the amount of weight loss is small, it is not likely to be clinically important.”
