Some of the most frustrating skin conditions that people encounter are due to dryness. Whether we’re discussing chronically dry skin conditions like eczema or something more subtle like premature signs of age due to dryness, figuring out how to nourish extremely dry skin is a top skin care concern. Excipial is an over-the-counter skin care brand that seeks to help those with those troublesome dry skin conditions with a number of Excipial hand creams and lotions that are expertly crafted to heal dry skin. Unlike many over-the-counter dry skin creams, Excipial uses scientifically advanced formulations that aggressively target dry skin to provide quick and effective healing.

The Excipial product line is simple, but efficient, and consists of four dry skin creams and an oral supplement. The topical items within the Excipial product line are divided into two categories, two Excipial hand creams created to heal dry and itchy hands and two Excipial creams to heal rough and cracked skin that can be used on any part of the body. Let’s dive into each category and look at each Excipial cream to get a better idea of which one is best to suit the various dry skin conditions.

What are the Best Skin Care Products of 2021?

Excipial Hand Creams

There are two types of Excipial creams designed to heal dry and itchy hands. Though you can use either of these Excipial creams on their own, Excipial recommends using them together in a two-step regimen that can help to not only soothe and heal dry skin but protect them against outside factors and irritation.

Excipial Daily Protection Hand Cream: The Excipial daily hand cream is a lightweight cream that is designed to be used on a daily basis as often as needed during the day. With a non-greasy formulation, this Excipial hand cream works to protect dry skin from becoming itchy and irritated due to lack of hydration. The way that this Excipial hand cream works is simple. Formulated with anti-inflammatory jojoba oil, the Excipial Daily Protection Cream soothes and moisturizes the skin and adds a boost of support to the natural barrier of the skin. The best part is that this Excipial hand cream doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrances, preservatives, or colorants which are normal culprits of irritated skin.

Excipial Rapid Repair Hand Cream: The second step in the Excipial two-step regimen to heal dry and itchy skin is the Excipial Rapid Repair hand cream. This cream is the heavier counterpart to the daily Excipial hand cream and is packed with skin conditioning ingredients like squalane which is known for its supremely moisturizing properties and meadowfoam seed oil which helps to lock moisture into the skin. The Excipial Rapid Repair Hand Cream should be used at night to repair dry skin and soothe irritated skin while you sleep. This Excipial hand cream is specially designed to penetrate the skin deeply and absorb into the skin with ease.

Excipial Lotion

The other two types of Excipial lotions are crafted to heal rough cracked skin for various areas of the body. Each of these Excipial lotions is formulated to offer a supreme dose of hydration, help to soften rough, dry skin, and offer mild exfoliation as well. Each Excipial cream for rough and cracked skin has a similar formulation with a key ingredient, urea, used in different doses depending on which Excipial cream you’re using.

Excipial 10% Urea Hydrating Healing Lotion: The first of the Excipial lotions is the Excipial 10% Hydrating Healing Lotion. This Excipial lotion is designed to provide a continuous cycle of hydration and helps to support the natural moisture levels of moisture in the skin. This Excipial lotion is formulated with skin penetrating castor oil which works to moisture and soothe the skin. As the name suggests, this Excipial lotion is formulated with 10% urea concentration which is a naturally occurring nutrient in the skin that is lacking in those with chronically dry skin. This ultra hydrating Excipial lotion can be used all over the body throughout the day as often as needed.

Excipial 20% Urea Intensive Healing Cream: The second Excipial lotion is the Excipial 20% Urea Intensive Healing Cream and it is used to treat those most stubborn dry areas of the body like the feet, knees, and elbows. As you can gather from the name, this Excipial lotion contains a robust does of 20% Urea which aggressively works to restore moisture and hydration to the skin. You’ll also find this Excipial lotion contains sweet almond oil which is known for helping to unclog pores and gently exfoliating the skin. This Excipial lotion can be used as often as needed as well but should be concentrated on areas that have extremely dry and cracked skin and should not be applied on the face.

Excipial Hand Cream Review

For an over-the-counter product, the Excipial hand creams are home to a slew of positive reviews. Those who have used the Excipial hand creams generally have experienced a significant improvement in the feel and appearance of their dry hands. The most common Excipial hand cream review celebrates the use of the cream on conditions like eczema. Users who have dealt with eczema applaud the Excipial hand cream for its supreme hydration without irritation. As far as the Excipial Urea lotions, the results are similar. The Excipial Urea lotions are highlighted for improving some of the more stubborn dry skin conditions. The one Excipial review to note that is less than celebratory is that some are turned off by the feel of the Excipial lotion. It has been noted that it can apply sticky at first which may not be desirable for some.

I have been using Excipial calmimg moisture lotion for two years following car accident that left me with severe spinal stenosis requiring cervical laminectomy surgery. I now have a major problem with neuropathy. Excipial didn’t cure the problem but did give me a lot of relief. Why can I not find it anymore? Is there a good substitute?

Hello I been searching the internet to try and find the Excipial Urea Hydrating Lotion 20%? Heck I’ll even settle for 10% if I have to. I wanted to ask you where you buy yours? What % is yours? And if I may ask how much?

Thank you in advance, I appreciate any and all information on this. Have a great day!

I totally agree. So disappointed they are selling on Amazon$130.00! Can’t find any leftovers anywhere else. Good luck

My dermatologist also recommended Excipial, but the manufacturer told me they haven’t made it in over a year. In my research I found another product called skinintegra. I haven’t tried it yet, but a reviewer said it worked even better than Excipial. It might be worth a shot.

This lotion saved my skin. I have the 10% but wish the 20% was more available online. When I started using I was experiencing the worst eczema of my life (I’ve had bouts on and off for my entire life). At this time it was on my arms, stomach, eyelids, neck, behind my kneecaps… I was constantly miserable. Use of this lotion has made me virtually eczema free and my skin now looks great.. I’m very disappointed that Galderma chose to discontinue as I have not found a replacement that works despite trying many lotions with Urea.

My dermatologist told me this lotion had been discontinued. It burned my skin. He recommended it, then he told me on my next visit that it had been discontinued.
