Dermelect Self Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum Review – Banner Test

Dermelect Self Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum is a facial + décolleté overnight serum that is claimed to contain “three types of concentrated amino acids to target the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores resulting in a brighter, more even-looking complexion”. One problem with this claim is that the “three types of concentrated amino acids” the brand is referring to are glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and L-ascorbic acid. These are not amino acids! Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), and L-ascorbic acid is vitamin C. There are no amino acids in this formula.

Another problem with Dermelect Self Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum is that it contains a high concentration of alcohol (ethanol). Alcohol is well known to cause skin dryness, irritation, and even disruption of the skin barrier, especially when used in high concentrations. While alcohol will immediately degrease the skin, it can actually dry out the skin so much that the skin will produce more oil over time to compensate for the dryness. This can lead to clogged pores and acne breakouts.
